I would use it as a football
I don't know why anyone would want to spend $200 on a few pieces of metal stuck together to heat up bread and not cook it through. My oven does a better job of it. Sure it takes 10 minutes longer but at least it comes out as toast not some half baked goods. I wouldn't even give it away as a free gift it is a hazard in the kitchen

Great motorised 4 slice toaster
Had this toaster for more than a year. Going great. Happy with its performance.
The previous Cuisinart model had a count down timer - this one has "bars" - strong bars = almost done. The count down was better but that last unit has some product issues. I would rather a reliable, good looking toaster - which this seems to be.

Toasting with Style
There comes a time in your life when you want a toaster with extra bells and whistles and are willing to pay more than $20. I splurged last Xmas for this fancy red 4 slice toasting machine and found it to be quite good. The two best items of note about this toaster are: It's motorised - how cool is that, and it has a count down timer - which is not actually a count down timer as such but a bar graph that diminishes. I would have preferred a count down timer, but what the heck. And it also beeps to say that my toast is 'Good to Go'. Plus for...Read more
the perfectionists, it grabs the toast and centralises it before toasting. The only down side for me Is that when toasting crumpets I have to push the frozen button to get any colour. I would have liked my crumpet a little browner (okay - a lot browner) on the Max possible setting. So for that it gets 4 Stars.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing technology and looks great
Many people doubt that you can have a toaster without dropdown levers. Well Cuisinart have done it and in spectacular fashion. Just choose your setting and the toaster automatically lowers the toast, presses the bread together and countdowns until it pops back up with a tiny beep. No more burnt fingers. Purchased together with the kettle at a discounted price. Matching Red items look great on the bench. The defrosting/toast function works well and can even do one sided Bagels (but never used that). Only 2 minor negatives. Sliced buns can be ...Read more
tricky if not cut exactly in half. The black function button letters on dark red are difficult to read (white or silver would have been better). But with only 3 choices, how hard can it be to remember, especially as the buttons even light up when pressed! UPDATE: After 14 months of daily use, STILL going strong. Have now found how fantastic Bagels are and use that function to perfection. Only problem is that after all that time, the White letters on the Black plastic have started to disappear. The Minus symbols are gone (used to reduce the toasting time) and the TOAST buttons now read TO_S_ (but I know which button to use anyway). A bit of Twink came in handy for the minus sign!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Uneven Cooked Toast. Not Designed For Bread Larger Than 600g Loaves.
The toaster is not designed for large bread e.g wonder white, 800g loaves. The toaster does not cook evenly and if purchasing one of the larger loaves, the top of the toast does not cook at all. Called customer service and was advised that is how it is. I didn't really need a new toaster but bought to match my new Cuisinart Kettle as it was red. Big mistake.

functional. Buttons worn off completely within 3 months
Works OK but buttons worn off within a few months not really expected in a premium priced product. Still waiting for a remedy from supplier after 3 months.

Another excellent Cuisinart product
My last toaster, a 2 slice clumpy-looking Breville, was unsatisfactory in several respects especially with toasting unevenly so when it gave up the ghost I plumped for a Cuisinart as the C electric kettle I bought late last year has all the settings anyone could want, is stylish, reliable, quiet and efficient. The Cuisinart toaster (model CPT 420 2) toasts both sides evenly (many don't!), has extra wide slots for crumpets, looks terrific and beeps to let you know when the toast or crumpet is done — handy when you're out of the room. They are really stylish products but better still, they function perfectly!
