Extremely disappointed, terrible quality think twice before purchasing
Paint has very little shine even it states it’s gloss, leaving ugly brush marks no matter what kind of brush is used. It’s also overpriced and is definitely not the dulux it used to be. Waist of your money and time and lots of disappointments.
I will never buy dulux product again.
Purchased in November 2021.

I have used dulux paints for over 40 years and never had problems with any of their paints. This paint has caused me to look elsewhere. It does not dry within the stated time frame, is still sticky days later which makes another coat difficult, it does not cover at all well and needs 3-4 coats rather than 2 to get anything like a reasonable finish. I have found it to be unusable, very poor quality and it lacks the gloss finish that their external gloss paints used to give. My message to dulux would be to take this paint off the market and revert to the previous tried and true external gloss paints that did work.
Purchased in May 2021 for $85.

Following my complaint,I received a call from Dulux. They sent me a complaint form to fill in and asked me to send photos of the defective paint on a surface and photos of the paint can. Because I had...
Read more just finished using the paint on some exterior wood, I was able to send photos of 2 examples of the patchy coverage after 4 coats of paint and the paint can plus an explanatory email on 12/2/22. It seems that they did not expect me to be able to do that because I have not received any response. I sent another email on 8/3/22 requesting a response, but that too was ignored. So it seems to me that not only has the standard of paint deteriorated significantly but so has the customer service. It is hard to believe that they ever had any intention of assisting me "to achieve the results that I am looking for". I have already switched to another brand of paint and I would urge anyone thinking of buying Dulux exterior weathershield gloss paint not to waste their money on it. Until Dulux are prepared to acknowledge and address the obvious problems with this paint, it should be avoided.
Dulux Weathershield is not worth the money. Stays sticky, cannot get a good finish, still has an odour after 5 weeks. Had so many issues and problems with Dulux paints while renovating our house. Used to be my go to paint but not any more.
Purchased in October 2021 at Gubbins Moss Vale for $105.

I followed the instructions and it is still not dried.. after over 2 weeks it is still very tacky. Same experience as the other reviewer titled, “ Won't Dry - Stays Tacky”… I went back to Bunnings and they said they could have over tinted. They suggested I scrape it all back and start again!!! I painted my bee hives and I have no time to re-paint… I shouldn’t have to rework it particularly when it wasn’t cheap. Very disappointed, pls don’t message me and ask me to call you to rectify… I am not doing it AGAIN! I should be eligible for a refund!!!

Good product. Painted bare dried rough sawn timber balusters. Brushed on no problem, dried and adhered. Basically what I’d expect of paint. For those giving bad reviews of this paint, it is easy to blame the material and tools we use rather than ourselves. Note: do not use any water based paints on treated timber without checking first with the paint manufacturer. Some of these timbers are treated to repel water ie LOSP bare or primed. If freshly treated this timber will repel just about any coating. Research and prep is key!

Dries too quick and remains soft for a long time. Does not flow nicely. And tne colour (green) seperates even while regularly stirring. Disappointing product. Used to be my favourite paint.

I am extending my timber cottage, there was painted by a professional painter 4 years ago. I bought the same paint from same shop to match but the colour very different when sun hit the wall.
The paint is still not dry after 2 weeks. Oily, sticky substance on surface when sun out.
I have painted the walls, balustrades and poles but can not finish my job.
Hi there, been a professional painter for 30 years and never have i had so many problems with a paint. Spraying corrugated iron as i have done many times before and it was like applying glue. It was tacky and ran, ran, ran. I understand that Extra Bright base can be bit stickier and harder to apply but this was just unacceptable in anyones terms. Sorry havent had this many problems with a paint for many many years

I have done a lot of painting over the years and never before have I had a problem like this. We had had a new front door installed and wanted it to be particularly good and as I had always been happy with Dulux products, I purchased the Deluxe Weathershield Gloss paint for the job. I used a good quality undercoat first then next day painted the door. The day was warm but not particularly hot but the paint went on like treacle. I painted the horizontal panels between the glass first then when I went to paint the vertical panels the paint s...
Read moreeemed to rubberise and drag across where the horizontal panels met the vertical ones. I then walked away from the job. The next day I tried to rub it down and the paint came off in little rubber balls and wouldn't feather at all. I eventually got it sanded to my satisfaction and waited for a cooler day to try again. The same thing happened. The (rather expensive) door is now rubbed down again but I will never be tempted to paint anything with this paint again. What made things worse is that I had to cut in the paint around all the glass panels which was a time consuming and fiddly job which will now have to be done for the third time.Hi Jan,
Thanks for the note and that does seem very unusual so we would like to speak with you further. Please contact 13 25 25 to speak directly with Dulux customer service.

I have painted a surface over a week ago and it is still tacky.I used a three in one primer before the top coats.I LEFT THE FIRST COAT 4 HOURS BEFORE RECOATING.
Your technical expert says it could take up to 4 weeks to harden in humid weather. The weather is humid but I have never had this problem with any paint.
The colour is licorice green which has a blue tint.
If a dark colour is not suitable for humid weather I would think that the customer should be advised before purchasing
I have been a dulux customer for ever and use aquanamel in gloss and high gloss regularly with no problems.
I don't know where to go from here

Very easy to apply and long lasting. Fantastic colour selection. Great price always at Bunnings with the very best of assistance by their staff.
It never fades or flakes off so you never have those worries at all. Wish Dulux made a paving paint. Bunnings have the best turnover so you know you never get old paint which has been left on the shelf.

Questions & Answers
I’ve painted an outdoor timber chair in the gloss acrylic and a day later (over 24hrs) the surface remains tacky. So far I’ve only put one ‘thin’ coat on. I would have expected it to dry properly relatively quickly given the thinness of the coat. As an aside, the coverage isn’t great either, brush stokes are still evident despite me laying off the surface. The temp was around 24 degrees, not humid and was painted in the shade. The timber was previously varnished but the furniture has been outside (undercover) for some years so most of the varnish had already peeled off. The timber is still sound and in a very paintable condition. The chair was sanded prior to painting.
I’m loathe to paint another coat if the first is still so tacky, it doesn’t bode well! I’m an experienced painter and have never had this issue before - even with enamel gloss paint. Any recommendations or rectifying suggestions?
