    Dont last the distance

    published

Great at handling the road in the wet or dry weather but really they are a Terrible tyre only because they don't last long enough, I have only done less than 30,000 and almost no tread left I will never buy Dunlop again and I drive to speed limits responsibly, very disappointed total waste of money in my opinion.

Dangerous in wet, poor at best in dry conditions.

Long milage tyres with very low performance in all conditions. I ended up leaving the bitumen on a sharp downhill corner on the first wet day the tyres saw and ended up in a ditch. I've been driving for 30yrs and was accused of not driving to the conditions. I stress that you purchase these at your own risk. They give little to no warning of their limitations in wet conditions. Not worth the money or name (sport).

    Good Family car tyre.

These were fitted to my BA falcon when I purchased it. Didn't have any problems with them wet or dry conditions, only replaced them because of damage to one tyre from a bolt that had dropped out of someone's trailer coupling. They were about 30% worn when I purchased vehicle, I did 25K on them and they still had at least another 10K of life. Would have gone the same as replacements but GT 228's were a lot cheaper.
    Good all round tyre.

    Terrible

    published

These are a long-life tyre but in this case that's not a good thing. The longer you have poor performing tyres on your vehicle the greater the chance that you'll encounter a situation where better tyres would have prevented or mitigated an accident. Probably the most useful thing I could say here however is that when it comes to tyres you just can't trust the reviews you read on a site like this. The vast majority of drivers on the roads don't know the first thing about tyres. Best to look around for some independent tyre reviews performed by industry professionals.

Poor performance in the wet, average at best in the dry

    Perfect to throw away

Good and pleasant to drive especially when new and on a dry surface. Very dangerous to drive on wet.
The name Sport must have come from manufacturers awareness that the tyre in such conditions require rally skills to control your car. :-) Otherwise, you might be a danger to yourself and public, especially on a smooth, wet surface.
(See also my comment to next review.)
Nice and quiet on freeway/highway ride
Terrible (no grip) on smooth, wet surface

These tyres are on a Toyota Corolla they have done 22500kms and toyota service centre tell me two need replacing, not good value, vehicle has not been driven on rough roads or abused. I have had far better wear from other brands.
They came with the car, I didn't have any choice, only good thing is they handle well.
In comparison with other vehicles I've had fitted with other brands of tyres, these tyres do not have a good life, I have used cheap tyres on vans that have lasted longer.

Original fitting on a Toyota Corolla. This car has been driven sensibly for 100,000 km and the tyres rotated regularly. Two of the five tyres are the originals.
These tyres just don't wear out. Good road holding.
Not much, sidewalls starting to break up with age 100,000 km.

175/70/R14 OEM fitted in my corolla 2002, done 88500km when I changed the set of 4. When I shop around for new tyres people talking to me to change to the cheaper 185/65/R14 from Bridgestone or Goodyear. But I still have one spare of Dunlop tyre so I decided to stick with it. The new tyres I got was sp sport 200/made in japan (not sure what difference between 200 and 200E). I notice that the new tyres run significantly quiet compare to the old one, perhaps because there is more rubber in the thread. Overall I am quite happy with it.

Noisy at end of life. (I didn't rotate them for 6 years)
