Fantastic
V15 Detect Total CleanAs per most product reviewers I read the reviews of potential buys, reviewing the pros and cons before proceeding
Just like to address some of the inaccurate lower ratings, the bad suction review is very incorrect as this machine has incredible suction power, the bin emptying thing - yes you do have to do it multiple times and yes dust can get caught if you go over the max line but it’s quite easy emptying it, it really depends on how much dust your home produces. We have two dogs and two kids so dog hair and toddlers dropping food is a consta
... Read morent. The laser is a good addition as it helps you see what you missed with the torque head, if the particle/dirt is still on the floor after you go over it a couple times you can be sure it’s something on your floor board (sticker, stain etc.) not that the Dyson keeps missing like one reviewer mentioned. The good thing about this is I can see marks on my timber floors to clean / get unstuck, so I’m winning in ways I wasn’t expecting :) My summary Pros; - incredible suction power, we had had a Dyson v6,v8 and friends with v10, Dreame T-30, Miele cordless and Samsung jet but this thing is the next levelLove!
V15 Detect CompleteI wasnt going to review just yet, but I have to.
My old dc23 is still a great vac but way to heavy now I've done my back.
This Complete straight from Dyson is the same as detect but with a few extras.
It has inbuilt nozzle in the wand so you just slip the wand off and you have nozzle or brush right there. It also has the nozzle that can go on the end when you detach the head.
The laser head I did think was a gimmick, but you can see heaps of fine grit you've missed on hard floors.
I have a malamute and a rough collie so fur is everywhere.

Wow! One amazing vacuum!
V15 Detect Absolute ExtraI could not wait to use my Dyson V15 and the product did not disappoint. I vacuumed one rug and was shocked to see how much dust and particles the machine had collected!! Was my other vacuum really that bad??? It is a heavy machine and knew this on purchase, so I wouldnt recommend for elderly but I am SO SO impressed with the vacuum power. My carpets and rugs have never felt so clean!! Have not used on my wooden floors as yet.

This latest Dyson addition to our home has simplified my life!
V15 DetectI've been using my Dyson Big Ball Cinetic Animal for the last few years, alongside an earlier model of the lightweight Dyson stick. Treated myself to an upgrade just recently and cannot believe the amount of dust, fluff and hair that the Dyson V15 Absolute Detect actually sucks up! I usually vacuum twice a week, as we have a fleece coated Groodle and also live on the coast, so the windows and doors are open most days to allow the delicious sea breeze indoors. But this brings with it the dust and pollens from the surrounding bushland. I thought
... Read moremy rugs were relatively clean, but had to do a double take when I emptied the cylinder. Wow! It's easy to empty (especially compared to my earlier Dysons), with no "banging" needed and it can be simply wiped clean with a soft cloth. I love that the bin assembly and the filter can be removed for washing too. The floors are coming up clean with the help of the laser. I'll look at a further review when I've had the item for a few months, but so far so good! UPDATE: MAY 2023 So, a few months in and I noticed a deep groove had been worn into the brush bar on the digital powerhead. There was nothing caught and I had only ever used the machine indoors, so wasn't sure how or why this had occurred. Contacted Dyson via FB messenger to ask about the issue. Within a few days a replacement brushbar arrived by mail. I still don't know what caused the groove, but am happy to have received a replacement so quickly! The Dyson V15 Absolute Detect is used twice weekly, sometimes more. I am always surprised/astounded by the amount of dust etc that is picked up. The machine is kept well maintained: wiped clean, emptied, fully charged, lint filter washed. I did buy an extra HEPA filter to ensure that I could continue vacuuming when the filter needed cleaning. Still very happy with my purchase.Find out how Dyson V15 Detect compares to other Stick & Cordless Vacuum Cleaners

OMG Just Why Did I Wait!
V15 Detect Absolute ExtraI have been watching the Dyson vacuum for like over 10 years waiting and deliberating. Well I saw a special and could not resist even though inflation would suggest I should not treat myself. Anyway against all my struggles I caved and brought myself the Dyson V15. I am so excited to tell you that I have never used a vacuum cleaner this much. So easy to just grab and do the cleaning. I can't believe how much this is picking up. Crazy amount that I thought was never possible. This thing sucks up so much. I got to say having a vacuum without cords is the best decision I have ever made.
Housewife helper machine
V15 Detect Absolute ExtraMachine is efficient, heavier than my previous model, due to bigger barrel and more powerful motor I guess, but better in cleaning job, because of that the barrel filled up quickly
A disappointing waste of money!
V15 Detect Absolute ExtraBuying the Dyson V15 has been an expensive mistake! Emptying it is such a chore, it certainly doesn’t fall out easily like in the Dyson promotional videos. Every time I attempt to empty it, it involves banging it several times on the wheely bin, resulting in dust flying in my face (great for my allergies and defeating the point of having a HEPA filter), and then having to manually remove the hidden pockets of fluff and hair clogged in the nooks and crannies with my hand - it’s disgusting!
But to be honest I don’t have to worry about emptying

Recently purchased Dyson V15, its a amazing vac great on hard and soft surface.

Disappointing on tile and timber floors
V15 DetectLooking at the demonstration video I now understand why, when using the laser head to highlight the dust, they vacuum in a forward direction. When you push the unit forward and then pull it backwards, like when you normally vacuum, the light highlights the dust that hasn't been vacuumed up by the unit. It's a gimmick and doesn't do the job.
I tested it out by using my soft fibre mop (approx $30) and then using the laser light head (Dyson unit $1400). The soft fibre dry mop did a way better job.
The Dyson works well on carpet but it's not wor

It has amazing suction power in eco and auto mode, I haven't needed to use the boost mode yet. I've used this vacuum on my bedroom, living room and surrounding floors everyday for the past week and I haven't had to recharge it yet - the battery is strong and long lasting!

Great performance!
V15 Detect Total CleanWe brought the V15 Dyson stick about 6 months ago and it works a treat. It has an electronic screen that counts your dust (not exactly sure why someone would want to count the dust particles in their house though) - but it does do the job. It automatically adjusts depending if you are picking up big dust or little dust so it saves battery life. It only works hard when it needs to. I also have changed my vacuuming routine and vacuum in the dark at night. This sounds rather weird but this is when the green laser light works best and you can see e

V15 Detect Total CleanThis vacuum is by far one of the best appliances in the house. Dyson vacuums are hands down the best value for money. I remember once I bought something off a competitor and it really was one of the biggest regrets that I've ever had in my purchasing life.
If Dyson keep making amazing vacuums like this I will never purchase from another brand ever again

V15 Detect Absolute ExtraThe Dyson V15 sucks in a good way!
I done a test when I first got the Dyson V15 where I first vacuumed with my old Shark vacuum and straight after I used the Dyson V15 and the results were disgusting. The amount of dirt, dust, hair and other gross things the Dyson V15 picked up that my other vacuum missed was scary.

Show detailsGreat Vacuum, but parts missing
V15 Detect Total CleanThe vacuum does a very good job, but two attachments from the old model are no longer in the new V15 Absolute model. I was also told the battery recharge time was 20 minutes. Turns out that it is 3.5hrs, so I am really disappointed at the misinformation provided by the sales rep. Also, really disappointed that the price is $200 more expensive than 9 months ago when two additional attachments were available. I feel as though Dyson are perhaps gouging based on their reputation in a similar way to Apple. If you are going to charge the premium price, then the item should have all the inclusions as standard. I do not want to have to spend another $100 on additional accessories so I can enjoy the full functionality of a price inflated product.

Decision on Dyson
V15 Detect Absolute ExtraAfter hearing many mixed reviews on the Dyson V15 we decided to buy one and test it out. We have carpet and timber floors in our house so we new this stick vacuum was going to get a run for it’s money.
All I can say is wow, it is so easy to use, glides alone on our timber floors. The multiple heads give us the option to interact depending on the area needing cleaning. I was sceptical that this Dyson would actually be sufficient for our big house but the battery time allows us to clean the whole house before we need to recharge. Best decision we made was buying this product. I actually enjoy vacuuming now and the barrel makes it really easy to empty. We would highly recommend this product.
Love the modes, does a really good job!

V15 Detect Total CleanWe use this on both carpet and marble floors and the results are outstanding.

I like how light the unit is and how long the battery lasts.

Quality Unit. Does the job every time
V15 Detect Total CleanTop shelf unit which proves its worth. Cleans floorboards extremely well and carpets too.
A little heavier than previous models more felt when doing carpets. Emptying card ridge has become easier and less fiddle or mess at the bin. Attachments fit snug and there are multiple ones for all types of use.
Well worth the spend.

V15 Detect Total CleanInitially I was unsure whether to buy another Dyson due to previous bad experience with the quality from the day of purchase.
However, I’m now happy we did go ahead with it. The vacuum cleaner is very easy to use, charges fast and can’t be used for a long time before the next charge. The children use it on a regular basis meaning it’s light and smooth enough even for the little helpers. It’s also easy to use on all different floor surfaces, which mean mum and dad can keep the house clean even during the mid-week chaos and rush really easy. The

V15 Detect Total CleanI've had a few dyson stick vacuum cleaners in the past plus a dyson barrel vacuum cleaner and I've never really understood how or why they got such great reviews until after speaking to numerous friends and family members, we very dubiously brought the v15 total clean. It's powerful enough to use on our carpets as well however I have noticed that if I use it on our long pile rug it does tend to stop the head from spinning sometimes but to me that's only a minor thing as it isn't a very big area anyway and I can easily lift up the head and get it spinning again. We have a cat as well and the amount of cat hair it picks up compared to our miele barrel vacuum cleaner is incredible. We are so impressed by our Dyson v15 we have now recommended it to others as well.Still very hard to clean the vacuum
V15 Detect Absolute ExtraPros:
- Vacuum has been used on both carpet/plush rugs/ tiles. Overall it performs above what I expected.
- adjustable spinner head means even with the very plush carpenter or rugs u can get a very good clean without it getting stuck and sucking up the rug itself.
- vacuum is a lot quieter then any others I have tried with is great for sleeping babies
- Very quick charge
- run time allows the whole house to be clean with one charge
- laser head option on hard floor does help if glass is smashed on the floor but I use the spinning head more so I can transition to carpet in the house in one clean.
- I have found the house overall is a lot cleaner due to the power of the new machine
- pet hair is cleaned up much more with this machine

V15 Detect Total CleanSo far this is the best stick vacuum performance wise from Dyson.
It has a great power boost when you need it and it works great on most surfaces.

V15 Detect Total CleanI am disappointed with my V15. It is fantastic when it works - which is only a couple of times a week. I returned it to Dyson within a month of receiving it and phone customer service every month to say I am not happy - they suggest cleaning the filter. The filter needs washing every couple of days and takes at least 24-48 to dry before it can be used again. V15 Detect Absolute ExtraOkay, so we have a Roomba and an old Dyson barrel vacuum, so wasn’t sure what to expect with a battery operated stick vac, but the mrs wanted one so I did some research and landed on the V15 absolute extra, unlike some of the other reviews I read before buying, I haven’t had any issues. V15 Detect Total CleanI was one of the few unlucky ones and received a faulty Dyson V15. The clean filter started to flash after my first vacuum around the house. They sent me a new filter, this did not fix the problem and now I have sent the machine back for repairs. I find it really disappointing that this filter issue seems to be common place. This is not a cheap vacuum so for customers to consistently receive faulty machines is unacceptable. That one time that I got to use it was A+ though. And I am really looking forward to getting my fixed machine back home. But I would probably not buy another Dyson. Not willing to take the chance of receiving a faulty machine again.
Good, but not great.
V15 Detect Absolute ExtraDisclaimer: I am a long-term Dyson fan, having had many Dyson vacuum cleaners, and I rate their customer service as the very best. I bought this vacuum cleaner to replace my Dyson DC23 Animal as I was fed up of cords and hoses, and I thought this was now ready to replace a mains-operated one. I was wrong. I have two border collies who live in and out of the house, and I have found the bin to be far too small, as it is full after one room. Furthermore, there is also much hair and dust stuck behind/above the rubber seal in the bin, and I constant
... Read morely have to stick my fingers up there in order to clean out what is stuck there; so much for a "touch-free empty" mechanism. The battery lasts an hour if used on minimum, and it seems to pick up everything even on this setting. It is frustrating that the powered brush will not restart spinning if it catches on something. You have to turn the cleaner off then on again. Furthermore, there is always a noticible lag (1-2 seconds) between the vacuum cleaner starting and the brush starting to spin, meaning you have to go over again what you covered in those seconds. The particle counter is really just a gimmick, and on a number of times it has stopped counting at 3,600,000,000 (three billion, six hundred million), which seems to be either a physical memory or field capacity limit. The laser on the hard floor brush is ok, but really only for short distances in dimly-lit areas. I bought this directly from Dyson, and two weeks after I bought it, they were selling it for $250 off, so not happy there. In conclusion, in my opinion, this is not ready to replace the mains-powered ones. It's good, but the stuff getting stuck in the upper part of the bin is particularly poor (and this is before the lower bin has reached the full mark, so I am not over-filling it). I'll continue to use it, but for heavy-duty requirements, my DC23 is there.Clean filter started flashing after one clean
V15 Detect Total CleanLove Dyson products and this vacuum is product wise great. Only issue is it started flashing clean filter after only one vacuum on hard floors that had already been vacuumed and mopped.
Reading some other reviews looks like I’m not the only one. So likely it will need to get replaced.
Here lies the issue. Dyson customer support. Having gone through this before it’s a lengthy process where they try to fix the issue, you’re left without a vacuum for a substantial period of time (thankfully have my old one to rely on this time around) and you’re left frustrated by the entire thing.
Customer service want me to wash filter wait 48 hours and try again. Let’s see how long this all takes now.
Wish I'd bought it sooner!
V15 Detect Total CleanMy new Dyson arrived 2 days ago and I can not believe how good it is. I will admit it weighs a little more than I had expected, so it gives you a bit of a workout when using it (especially on carpet), but the amount of dust, hair and dirt it picks up is better than any other vacuum I've ever used... even my old Dyson. At around $1400 this is both an investment and a considered purchase. After owning a DC44 for several years, the battery was finally loosing its ability to hold charge. As we already owned a Dyson we were eligible for a small percentage off a new purchase and will pulled the trigger - Literally.

The one feature I thought would be a gimmick was the laser fluffy head, how wrong I was. As we have a majority hard floors, this tool highlights every speck of dust, dirt and hair. The Fluffy head does a wonderful job of making sure our hard floors are immaculately clean and the laser makes it very satisfying. The Torque Drive head sees regalar use on our carpets and also hard floors when we are doing a quick "whip around" and I am happy to report that zero human or pet hair has tangled on the brush bar!
