Vacuum Cleaners Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
The most frustrating machine I have ever owned
I would not recommend this machine it needs constant stripping down (using a special screwdriver head not supplied) as it constantly has a warning to clean the filters after only minutes of use. I wash the filter on the top of the handle after every use then have to wait 24 hours for it to dry to be able to use the vacuum again. There is no second battery so when the battery needs recharging you must wait several hours to use it again. I have a very clean house, professional cleaner fortnightly but still the 'clean filter' light comes on.
I have had many vacuum cleaners in my 78 years and used them frequently but would never buy another Dyson
Great after purchase service
Overall a fantastic machine. Used on carpets and tiles and the cleaning/suction power is fantastic. Had an issue recently where the battery stopped charging, and Dyson has sent out a new one, o questions asked.
Not worth the money
Had for just 12 months as it was purchased as a present for us. Had the original dyson for over 10 years and loved it.
The V10 just pushes stuff around the floor, doesn’t suck certain objects. The filter message constantly comes up and then the vacuum was getting stuck on, then just cuts out.
I Went to use a couple of days ago and no longer turns on at all. I Cleaned filter & yes its charged, still doesn’t turn on.
I want my old dyson back cords and all. So sad, don’t know what to do now with it, as it was a present I don’t have a receipt for it..
Purchased in December 2018.
No cord means I vacuum more often!
I was tossing up between getting the cheaper V7 and the V10. I am SO glad I chose the latter. The extra time I get from the V10 battery is a huge plus. It means I charge the machine less, and it means I got a bigger dust bin, so I don't need to empty it so regularly. I had read a lot of negative or critical reviews regarding the Dyson brand, so I was skeptical but I'm sold on the brand now. The V10 has plenty of suction power to clean my tiled floors and my carpeted areas of the house. When needed, I can put it into a higher suction mode, but I...rarely ever need to do that. The Motorhead version comes with three fittings, which is all I need. It's a great vacuum cleaner that I'd recommend to anyone. It is slightly heavier than the V7. So if that is a problem, I'd advise getting the V7. However, the battery life on the V10 is much better. Which is why I chose this model. It's super easy to clean and manoeuvre. The ball head technology makes it a dream to vacuum in between chair legs or around corners. When you release the power trigger, it makes a "Boingggg" noise. This is completely normal and something that Dyson deliberately did when building it (it's like a marketing tactic). Don't worry if you hear it. There's nothing wrong with your V10.
I thought my floors were clean until I used the Dyson V10 Animal. An easy to use and extremely efficient machine. I’d heard from others how good it is and I certainly haven’t been disappointed. Highly recommended
Love my Dyson V10 Absolute+
Dyson v10+ absolute works really well on my plank vinyl floors and also carpet. You have to change the heads over but they still do an excellent job! Really happy with it.
Constant filter blockage
I purchased the v10 Animal + 4 weeks ago. The vacuum is used for a new apartment with mainly stone flooring, however, after about 3 mins. of use the filter blockage light illuminates and the suction stops & starts (chugs) before cutting out completely. I have gone through every blockage including the filter process and all I get is a few of minutes of operation before it's blocked again. I also get tweezers out to pull dust from the filter. Something is amiss here or it's a very poor performer.
I will be seeking a refund for the cost of $999.00 from David Jones
great on hard floors (use the fluffy head on floorboards) and pretty good on carpet. big enough bin and long enough run time for a averaged sized whole house vacuum. had mine swapped over for the suction pulsating despite no blockage after the first year though. honestly just get the lg cordzero, its significantly cheaper and a better unit

Best Vaccum Cleaner Ever
You will not be disappointec by the Dyson V10 Stick Cleaner. Very powerful and light and easy to use. Good for all floor types.
Throw away your heavy old vaccum cleaner you will never look back especially if you are in your senior years.
Best vac I’ve ever bought
I have a cat and use this on both hard and carpeted floors. It is easy to use and to empty. The variable speed makes for picking up cat hair much easier.
Purchased in February 2018 for $700.00.
Great vacuum, couldn’t go without it how!
Works great on tiles, carpet and Lino. We have a 5 bed 2 lounge house and the Dyson only uses 1 battery square to complete the whole place, much easier than having to change PowerPoints all the time. We will be getting rid of our old plug in Dyson because this is so much better
I would not recommend this vacuum. The filter is constant getting clogged even after cleaning it, but the real reason I'm here is due to the hose "getting clogged" I've taken this vacuum apart and checked everywhere I dont see the clog.My vacuum is completely clean. I can not used this vacuum because it thinks it is clogged
Best stick vacuum I have ever used
I have had a number of stick vacuums and this is by far the best I have had. The suction is amazing, charge lasts longer than some others, pipes are easier to put on and off. Excellent filters.
Purchased in September 2020 at On line for $500.00.
We bought this on sale for 699. High price tag for a vacume but well worth it if you can get it on a sale. Wouldn't pay full price. Easy to use and last us enough to clean a 4 x2 house on medium. Carpet and tiles. Would recommend to anyone that's after a really good vacume

Could not recommend this vacuum highly enough!
Easy to use, durable, efficient, and easy to empty.
Only problem Ive run into which I was advised before I purchased was the battery life while using on max.
I recently bought the vacuum and I cleaned the filter left it for 24-30 hours to dry. It was fully charged and now it doesnt work. I cleaned the filter again and the filter light keeps flashing. Such a waste of money. Really disappointed I cant believe I saved soo much to buy a faulty product
Purchased in January 2020.
came with the dok and has multiple head function. carpet head works well on normal floors as well. suction power is excellent. battery is decent. made a big change to our lives in terms of cleaning speed and efficiency
Have not had any issues and this is my second Dyson cordless
We upgraded from a Dyson V6 to the V10 around 10 months ago so wanted to wait until I had used it for a while before writing a review.
As with my V6, I have never had any issues with this cleaner and use it on a mixture of timber and carpeted flooring.
I don't have a huge house and I can get the whole house done on the medium power setting without having to recharge.
I use the max power once a fortnight and only have to recharge once to complete the whole house.
Dyson Absolute v10
I have carpet and timber floors I also use it on tiled floors. Great performance on all surfaces. Suction is very strong I was amazed that is just as good as a barrel vacuum. Im sold on Dyson, Ive tried others but none compare to the Dyson.
Purchased in April 2020 for $700.00.
I have carpet in the bedroom and laminate everywhere else in my unit. My new Dyson is no comparison to a thing else on the market. I can't live without it I have an inside dog that sheds. The suction is really powerful. The vacuums weight is great a d I'm 66yrs old. The actual wa d is very long and can be adjusted to suit anyone.

Questions & Answers
I purchased my dyson v10 abiut 3 weeks ago and it has been working perfectly up until a few days ago. It vacuums fine but when I stop it and lift it off the floor, the dirt falls back onto the floor. Any help would be appreciated
My Dyson V10 picked up water from the carpet and will no longer work. Is it possible to fix this? Should I be drying the unit out?
