Too many buttons.

It's way to complicated for a dryer. A dryer shouldn't need so many adjustable settings. It should just dry clothes. On the up side, it holds a lot of clothes and on a normal dry setting, it dries then very well. I don't see the point of air dry. Good value for money.

Still deciding

published

Purchased in October 2016. I have just had it repaired due to a loud droning noise. The next 2 cycles were fine but the noise returned and I am returning it in exchange for a new one (same model). These things happen and I am otherwise happy with the brand.

Best dryer of the 3 we've owned

published

The best option on this is the sensor dry - not sure how it works but leaves the clothes not bone dry - so ironing isn't a chore. Really only use it once or twice a month living in Brisbane. But worth the small investment. The 6.5 kg option is perfect for a family of 4.

Easy to use and perfect for a growing family

published

We purchased this dryer to replace our old Westinghouse one when our baby was a few weeks old. It has a very similar control panel to our old one, so it made it perfect for us as it operates the same way, but with a few extra features. Easy to use, works perfect every time, and the clothes are always dry and crease free.
We can't fault this dryer, and we purchased the extended warranty for extra peace of mind.

High and Dry

published

We have struggled with other dryers for some time but this new unit is the best, Sensor control works a treat and turns off when complete so we don't need to pay for it to turn dry clothes. With the new energy bills the delay feature is fantastic allowing us to delay it to off-peak time.

Dry clothes and towels.

published

Purchased to replace an older Electrolux model that we were happy with but had not lasted as long as expected. So far this works well. Adjustable dryer settings and easy to clean
Filter. Turned machine upside down to Wall mount( included brackets), and display template was a stick on option. It'll be interesting to see if this lasts for the long term. Dryer is about as loud as our previous machines so no improvement.

Best dryer!

published

I love this dryer. It is super quiet in the way of dryers and is quick and convenient when needing to dry our clothes and many loads of washing. It fits a lot in it, so we never have to worry about wasting water doing small loads of washing. The extra settings gives me confidence that my more delicate items will still be safe.

A good dryer

published

We recently purchased this dryer after having a dryer for about 17 years and we were worried about it's effectiveness. This dryer has been pretty good. I am a bit concerned after lots of use as to whether the button on the door will last. Overall it dries well and in a decent amount of time.

wish can do better

I love it when it works. However, it worked only a few months and broke down the first time. After only a month up and running it's down again: Bought it late September and both the washer and dryer worked fine until June. Three visits later from the repairman that Electrolux uses, the washer worked again. He had to replace the motherboard twice and order the part each time. The washer quit again 10 days ago. We are still waiting for the part to come in for the repairman. We are not hard on it, only two retirees who purchased the set for our new town home. Thank goodness it's still under warranty. Five days after emailing Electrolux customer service I am still waiting for a reply.

It's good

This product I've had for nearly two years now. It's reliable and works well. The only thing I dislike about it? Is that it doesn't show the time. So I don't know how long extra dry goes on for etc. other than that it's perfect. Especially living in Melbourne where the weather is unpredictable.

Bad product

published

within 6months of owning this product, it shuts off the power. I thought it was because I was running other appliances but then it would be fine for a few weeks and then back to the same problem. It is definitely the dryer. The intermittent nature of the dryer suggests that it is an internal machanical issue.

Broke but started working again a few days later

published

I bought the Electrolux 5kg Sensor Dryer EDV5051 two years ago and the heating stopped working a few days ago. It still spins/airs but no heat.

I sent an enquiry to Electrolux customer service for advice And they replied a few days later. Coincidentally, the heater started working again too! My faith restored.

Good dryer

published

Generally does what it is supposed to do, pretty handy having a few different options on how dry you want it to be. We use it quite a lot as we are a pretty big household, but it's never skipped a beat. Easy to use, doesn't require much maintenance apart from the standard defluffing of filter after every run. If I have to pick on anything, I'd say the machine is a tad noisy to be used while watching TV, and perhaps a bit plasticky. On the flip side, apart from the functionality, I'd say it makes a great humidifier!

Nice Product

I am happy having this dryer which is very easy to install and easy to use. you can choose 30 or 60 min cycle. I use 30 min cycle with a normal mode which dries my clothes most of the time. It is a little bit noisy but this is normal for all dryer.

Dry's well

Very good dryer very simple has a heat and airer option. Only downside I'd say is it is a bit noisy but does everything a dryer is meant to do. Has extra dry options also it has a timer setting. It also has a very easy to clean filter which I like.

It is perfect!

published

Our family is very happy with the dryer machine. The usual mode I choose is 60 mins dryer, which can make almost all the clothes dry at the same time.
Also, it's easy to use and relatively quiet when it is working.
And what's more, the machine can save much time for us. I think I can't live without the dryer machine.

Couldn't be happier with the dryer. Clothes dry in a snap and its nice and small in size!
Convenient lint catcher in the front and you just whip it out before every load. Our family loves this dryer! It's not the cheapest on the market but you are paying for quality!

EDV6051

My dryer keeps turning off after a few seconds. It’s only a few years old! Has anyone had any luck with what appears to be a common issue? The filter is clean and I’ve tried turning it on and off. Thanks
