Excellent quality output up to A3+
I bought this printer a couple of months ago and have since printed over 500 (yes 500!) photos of all sizes, from 4x6 to A3. The machine is quite fast and the results on glossy photo paper are nothing short of stunning. The only downside is the cost of the ink. But I guess if you want quality, you have to pay for it. Oh yeah, and it has a built in scanner, with accompanying software which is simple to use and works well. Overall I am 100% satisfied with this printer.
Purchased in June 2020 at Epson Australia for $399.

I have just happily got rid of an Epson X860 and am nervous about getting another Epson. Is the X970 a better model?
I have never used the X860, but I can tell you that the XP970 is nothing short of stunning when you print on glossy paper, assuming you have a good quality hi-res image going in of course. It prints b...
Read moreorderless up to A3 size and is not too slow. My only concern is that the ink is a little expensive, but not any more than with any other inkjets. It takes 6 cartridges you can buy at $30 each or buy a 6 pack combo for $160. I would not hesitate to recommend this machine - it's $400 but as I said, the ink is the real expense if you're going to be printing any sort of quantity on this machine. Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention it has a built in scanner which is quite good, and fast!Thank you for taking the time to give me this response. I don't do a lot of printing just want the quality to be good when I do. The machines look identical so I was nervous.
