Fantastic Printer
I had just finished my review of the Canon TS9160 and was looking at my Pro 100 and thinking do I want to spend the money on fixing the feed or will I hand it on to someone else who might be interested.
I chose to hand it on to someone else .
It made sense to me $150-$200 for the repair plus a new ink set @ $184.00 equaled new printer.
I did a bit of research and decided my stand alone photo printer would be the IP8760
Amazon shipped it within a day or two and I began to unpack it.
Compared to the Pro100 it is light not light as in the lightest printer you will ever own but light in that most people would have no problem lifting it.
I did notice the plastics were not quite as good as the Pro 100 ....Read more
I figured the money I was spending made sense. I needed a quality printer but was not prepared to sink $600.00 dollars plus into it. This had 9600 X 2400 resolution which was higher than the TS9160 and higher than my departed Pro 100 which both had 4800 X 2400 . Setup was easy but only because I understand the routine. Once again the setup failed to pick up my Canon printer on the network but it was just a matter of using a USB cable to complete it. Once done I began a test print. On A4 paper I did a price list and compared it to the TS9160. Not much difference, perhaps the blacks were slightly darker and sharper than the TS9160 but there was not much in it to worry about. Now, the test I really wanted to see . On 4 X 6 Platinum Pro paper . I used the same image and had to muck around a little with my Qimage printing software to get a full borderless print . When printed and dry I compared it to my Pro 100 ($900+) when I bought it, my TS9160 ($139.00) and the IP8760. ($331.00 freight free) I bought my last 2 printers from Amazon and didn't mind paying $10.00 more that the lowest price I could find on the IP8760 because I knew I would have a no hassle return and service experience . I also printed from my Smartphone App with no problem whats so ever. I must admit I had a bit of a laugh that someone bought this printer thinking it had a scanner, ummmm.........yeh there is a spec sheet and photos available and oh yes you can return it, don't know what to think about that one. RESULTS . Surprise, surprise, I used the 5X magnifier and white light . All three prints looked exactly the same, colour and resolution looked exactly the same even though the IP8760 had an edge with the 9600 X 2400 resolution it did not translate into any difference on a 4 X 6 print. But hang on, this thing prints out to 13 X19 and oh yes that is where you will see the difference . What can I say it's a great printer. CONCLUSION . If you want an all in one that prints beautiful 4X6 buy the TS9160 of course it also has a scanner . If you want spectacular large consistent prints buy the IP 8760 The thing is using the Chromalife inks and the Pro Platinum paper you will get 30 years fade free under glass and 100 years if you keep your prints in a box out of light. You wont get this with third party inks, so that is why I will be using generic in the TS9160 and original Chromalife inks in the IP8760 Would I buy another high priced pro printer ? No, it just does not add up, sure with all their ink tanks you are going to get better transition in colours and better controlled blacks, but seriously, most people will not pick the difference between any of these printers. Just as a foot note I never will consider an Epson, been there, done that but now they want to order your ink for you automatically, and refuse to operate on third party inks it's a brand best avoided unless you have a pocket full of cash.
Purchased in November 2021 for $331.00.

Do your research thoroughly with the iP8760 and do not buy anything from Canon online!
I recently purchased the PIXMA ip8760 and it is not what I thought it was. I expected for the price that it would at least copy or flatbed scan as my last high res canon printer MX726, which was also 9600 x 4200 dpi, did everything for half the price. Which unfortunately they have discontinued now and it seems they want you to purchase 2 products now to get the same results. Canon do not offer anything comparable to the MX726 today as the highest resolution on their mulitfunction printers is 4800 x 1200 which is not great for fine print details...Read more
in photos. I thought technology was to improve not get worse! Sadly, as with many companies now Canon are all about money and not the customer needs or experience. This printer to me is now just a cumbersome single function printer. I suggest looking into the EPSON mulitfunction Expression A3 printers or something similar. Same price with the extra functions. I wish I purchased one of those!! Dealing with Canon has also been a horrible experience..they do not accept returns, well they say they do but they expect you to pay for the return postage so from Perth to NSW is approx $65 so do not buy anything from canon online. Purchase from a store if you can so that you can return it if you are not satisfied. Canon online would not even allow me to return it to the Canon store in my state. I have always purchased Canon printers for as long as I can remember. This will now be my last.Purchased in November 2021.

Beautiful prints
I love the quality of photos from this printer. Beautiful clear, crisp prints every time with vibrant colours and perfect black and whites. It is reasonably priced for an A3 printer, one of the cheapest on the market but it definitely doesn’t compromise on quality. It has individual inks, although the grey can be a bit hard to find in stores -I buy direct from Canon so it’s not an issue. It’s wireless and really easy to set up and use and Canon are excellent at providing product support. My daughter used it for her year 12 portfolio and the result...Read more
s were amazing. In fact, this is the second one I have had. The first one was damaged ( no fault of the printer) and I didn’t have to think twice, just ordered the same one again. I have framed photos all around the house, all printed at home and all look professional. I am also a scrapbooker and have many albums full of gorgeous prints. It works best with genuine Canon photo paper -results can look a little dull with the wrong paper. We use this printer for everything from photos to school projects to documents from phones,iPads, laptops and my desktop computer and it works every time!Purchased in January 2021 at Canon Australia for $400.00.

Best Value A3 Photo Printer
Great price, relatively easy to setup, especially when connecting over WIFI using the WPS button - so no need to type in passwords.
The quality was great considering the price.
Printing takes around 5 minutes, but there's also a quiet printing mode which is slower but less noisy.
Overall, it's great value for money.

Canon IP8760 ~Very good but not quite good enough for me
This is a great printer and well priced however i was disappointed with the photos which lacked a vibrance i always got with my old Epson 8 colour printer. The photos can be tweaked however using their software or that of your photo editing software. I also found it printed A4 prints well but the 10x15 ones were rather dull. It also had a few issues with a roller line on some photos so i sent it back and replaced it with an Epson SureColour P600 for three times the price and larger in size. The Canon printer is smaller than all of the A3 pri...Read more
nters i looked at which is a great advantage. It is also quite easy to use and Canon are helpful with tech issues if you can understand their accents! If you want a cheaper A3 dedicated photo printer and are not as fussy as i am with clear bright reproductions, I can recommend this one however.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
