Ugh chews through the ink!
I previously had an awesome Epson printer - can't remember which one but had it for years - purchased this one, very reasonable price but does it chew through the ink! And the inks (high capacity) are around $145 (Officeworks). I've hardly printed any photos and I'm onto my 4th lot of inks. Needless to say I'm putting generic in for $26. Prints well but not better than my original Epson - which I also only purchased to print photographs (as I'm a scrapbooker). And I cannot believe how difficult it is to navigate through the printer menu -
... Read morethey are making it harder and harder. Let's go back to basic Epson. Your original printer I owned was by far a better printer !!!!! How about Epson listen to their customers. And you could drop the price of the ink too !!!!!! My date of purchase is an estimated date only as I can't remember. And I can't be bothered finding the receipt.Ink
The printer loves its ink. Takes normal 4 colors plus Photo Black thought that was good, not so much. It doesn't print any better than my old Epson. Which I agree with someone before you can't use anything but Epson ink with it. Try a remanufactured one this ruined my printer and also my granddaughter. This printer also loves to have its heads cleaned a lot. Most of the time print is good after a head cleaning. I'm looking for something else.

I use this printer only for printing onto DVD discs. I do a lot and it never fails. Have only replaced the ink cartridges once when they ran out, and I don't think it is using excessive ink. I have had no problems with this printer. Epson seems to be the only company that makes printers to print onto DVD, and as I am a filmmaker I do a lot of these. I have never tested the Wifi, and I have only printed onto paper a couple of times. The ink never clogs up. Very happy...

Don't buy this unless you want to pay a fortune for ink
While this printer works quite well, Epson have found a way to encrypt their cartridges so that generic ink companies cannot supply refills for this printer. I tried one brand from China that was listed for this but the printer steadfastly refused to recognise them. This would not be so bad if the ink was a reasonable price but it is not. The cartridges are small and expensive and if any colour runs out, it will even refuse to print in black and white. There is no CISS system for this printer so buying Epson ink in bulk is not an option either. This one is heading for landfill even though it is only six months old.

This printer is an appalling waste of ink and money.
We purchased an XP-630 printer from OfficeWorks. After a few months we needed to replace the ink cartrige. At the time we didn't really think twice about it as we needed to replace all of them at the same time. The second time we needed to replace ink we discovered a fatal flaw in this printer. You can't print black and white if any of the colors are empty. That means you are unable to print ANYTHING if you don't have ink in all cartridges. That is an appalling design feature that forces people into purchasing expensive color ink cartridges to

On the plus side, the quality of the print is reasonable for the money, unfortunately the combination of the cost of ink, excessive ink usage, and an inability to print black and white when the color is out makes this and all Epson printers a STRONG NO recommendation.Poor ink usage
This started out as a good printer but after 9 months has proven to be a very high ink usage printer and requires a print head clean regularly or it will smudge ink on the page. I have only used genuine epson ink but am now trying non genuine from the ink station to see how that goes.

Ink cost is extremely high
My first complaint I purchased another set of ink with the printer and thought I would use the real cartridges first as I had a big print job and wanted to use the xl cartridges first and keep the initials as spares, don't do this. The printer will refuse to accept them after you install real cartridges. Epson you have lost my business forever I have run out of ink, the shops are closed and my brand new initial cartridges are useless!
I tried printing a photo and the photo was about 60% black. The result was a sticky mess and one single i

Setting most printing to gray scale the very expensive black xl cartridge was only able to print a modest amount before running out. I still have most of the ream of paper left so it might only have been 100 or less sheets. The cost per page of printing is huge.Details
