Epson WF 2650 is the WORST Printer I Have Ever Owned

published

I have only been able to print from this printer once or twice in 3+years. It is truly the worst printer I have ever owned. I have bought the Epson ink, cleaned the inkjets, waited unsuccessfully to print time and time again. This is truly a bad investment and no help from Epson.

Purchased in September 2021 at Wal-Mart for $1.00.

A headache from the second day I've had it

published

The WF 2650 has been the worst printer I've ever owned. Thankfully I didn't purchase it as it was a gift. Network setup is a nightmare, nozzles won't unclog even with multiple passes of the cleaning function, and when I need it to print right now, it says I cannot print without replacing the colored cartridges. Then it says "you may temporarily print with the black cartridge by enabling this in the settings." I changed the settings accordingly and it STILL won't let me print. Don't buy this machine.

Piece of Garbage!

published

If I could give this piece of crap a negative 1000 rating I would. Initially it worked okay (sort of - terrible print quality). Then it just entirely stopped working, say every other time I tried to print. So I re-loaded the driver (5 times), rebooted several times. I tried to print a basic letter in Word, and it took 3 days to print. It was showing in the print que as if it should print. The ink refill cartridges can run in excess of $50.00 each! I've paid less for a laser print refill! DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE! You have been warned!

Expensive, disappointing.

published

Second printer after first one stopped working; this one is doing the same. Nozzles clog easily; first printer completely blocked and unrepairable. With replacement - advised to leave printer turned on so it does occasional cleans also to run cleaning processes which I have done. Printed around 20 full pages a few days ago - no problems. Now the printout is unreadable and running the maintenance nozzle cleaning has not fixed the problem; maintenance cleaning also uses quite a lot of ink. My old Epsom TX 100 never missed a beat but choosing this one to avoid frequently buying ink has given us far worse problems; we are a long way from the regional centre where the machine was purchased from Harvey Norman.

Purchased in November 2021 at Harvey Norman.

The worst printer ever

published

I originally purchased this on Friday 22nd April 2016 from the Ringwood Store but the printer kept jamming so they swapped it over on Thursday 15th December 2016 but it still kept jamming so I wouldn't recommend buying Epson and I would definitely go for an HP Officejet Printer since the paper never jams.

Purchased in April 2021 at Officeworks for $99.00.

Don't bother

published

Print quality is OK, but trying to change from (unreliable) WiFi to cable connection is impossible. Also, the two-sided printing facility frequently refuses to work for no apparent reason. The command menu is confusing, fiddly and difficult to find what's needed. A temperamental, irritating, unreliable and time-wasting machine. Never again!!

Money drain

published

- Needs new print cartridges after about 80 pages.
- Won't print in black and white if a colour cartridge is out of colour - pain!
- No ability to select draft, normal or full quality printing through native software.
- Jams occasionally.
- Doesn't connect with airprint occasionally.
- Un-user friendly on-screen menu.

Ribbon tore last month. Ie, died in under 3 years.

Absolute shocker of a printer. Never again with an EPSON. Save your dough.

Do not buy! Continually loses connection

published

this printer continually loses connection when printing. it takes forever to turn off and reboot. the menu prompts are confusing. you cannot scan via wireless at all. you have to use the usb to scan. it will state there is a pager jame when there isn't. not good at all. very frustrating.

Awful!!

published

Replaced an old Canon which had years of faithful service. This Epson is the worst.
Painful to set up with Mac computer. Very temperamental to get to scan at all.
Initially printed okay but now version is nothing like on Print Preview- compressed size and poor ink coverage despite new ink cartridges.
Endlessly frustrating- Won't buy Epson again.

P.O.S!

published

I will not buy another Epson product. I bought two to replace my cannon that worked perfectly but wasn't windows 10 compatible. The Epson is only good for a few prints and then tells you the cartridges are empty. I'm tired of getting ripped off crap Epson! 1 star because it prints ok when working and hasn't jammed. The ink is very expensive because it seems like I have to buy new cartridges every time I need to print something!

Junk

published

New ink cartridges lasted about a day before telling me it's out of ink. Replaced the low ink cartridge and the next day the other three are suddenly out of ink. Now it tells me the "C" cartridge is unrecognizable. Wifi connection is crap. Finally had to hard connect to computer to maintain a connection. Ink cartridges are way over priced. I'll never touch another Epson product again. If I could give zero stars I would.

Would never purchase another Epson printer

published

This is the most user unfriendly printer I have ever used.
There is nothing intuitive about its use. I have had problems getting it to scan and now after replacing all the cartridges it still tells me to replace the cartridges. Epson have the defaults set up to print in colour and finding the monochrome option is made inconspicuous. Purchased from Harvey Norman

Most unfriendly printer I have owned

published

Worst printer I have ever bought. The cost of cartridges is very expensive.
PROS:
Feeder for scanner (which I am yet to try). This should be great for 'OCRing' documents.

CONS:
Very noisy and slow
Difficult to use

I have owned a few different models of Epson since 1997 as well as Canon. I'll go back to Canon when its time to get a new one.

Does the Job for what we need

published

Our old printer ran out of ink and it turns out it was cheaper to purchase this printer than buy new ink for the old one. We have used this printer for about 6 months now and have had no issues, its just for home use and the main reason we purchased it was for the ability to print from our phone / laptops without cords. It links up with the devices no troubles at all and was pretty easy to sync with the different pcs. If your after something basic and cheap with wifi then this is the printer for you.

TERRIBLE.... always running out of ink, I don't even get to print.

published

Constantly runs out of ink. I want to print one b&w page but it wont, because I need C ink I have just replaced Y & M, it said C was half full..... did not print a single page yet it became empty!!! WASTE of money. DO NOT BUY. I will be returning this to the store as I have spent hundreds on ink cartridges and probably printed no more than 100 pages all up.

REGRETFUL PURCHASE

published

This is the worst printer that I have ever owned. It takes sooooo long to do everything. I am currently scanning 5 pages and it has taken 10 minutes already to scan the first 2 pages. Printing is not much better. Totally disappointed that it takes so long to do such menial tasks in this day of technology. I will probably buy something else after only using it half a dozen times as it is so inconvenient even as a home printer. Very disappointing Epson!!

Worst printer I ever bought!

published

It worked good while it had the initial cartridges and they did not last more than a few pages. As soon as I replaced those the trouble started would not recognize the new cartridges then the print quality was dismal, I tried the nozzle cleaning procedure and that did not help. This thing is a Lemon one star is too high for this piece of CRAP!

Too Bad It Doesn't Print When 1 Cartridge Runs Out of Ink

published

Not a bad printer. Wish it didn't force you to buy cartridges, i.e. will not let you print in black and white if a color cartridge is expended. I called the technical support and was told that this is make sure that the print quality is not compromised. (I wish they would let me determine what quality I am willing to accept.)
