Printer will not work...GGGRRRRRR
I have installed, uninstalled, installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver about 50 times and nothing. Yes, nothing. Printer will not work. I have tried EVERYTHING to get it going. Alas, I fear the worst. I have wasted $48 bucks.
BTW, the scanner is unbelievably good :-). Install worked for that part of the unit. Very strange indeed.

Wanting to upgrade to a wireless printer, I chose to purchase the Epson XP-220. The print quality is fine - I mainly use it to print documents, never photographs or images. For a budget printer, the refills are quite expensive. There are often problems with connectivity, with a message reading, "printer is offline." Furthermore, changing cartridges is a nightmare, with the ink tank not sliding across for a refill when it should. Pressing the 'scan' button also never works, so I have to manually search for my scanner on my mac, which is often ti

easy to use
Very easy to use and reliable.Good value for what it cost but unfortunately the ink refills are just too expensive.A budget bulk pack costs more than the unit and I was surprised as my local ink refill company were unable to refill the cartridges .This surprised me as it not very good for the environment.

I am not impressed with my new Epson XP 220 printer. Can't get it to print, keeps saying the printer is offline. Epson support didn't happen, they sent me the wrong drivers for my iMac OS 10.11.6. Currently at the stage of disconnecting and taking it back to JB HIFi

Terrible
Printer is ok until you need to change the (original) print cartridges. Then everything goes south.
Lost wifi connectivity after changing the ink cartridges and cannot print at all now. Has no IP address any more.
Did not print anything in colour but after changing the Black cartridge, it also required a cyan to be changed as well Wasted device after about 30 pages of black printing.
A very bad product.

Printer does not print clearly. Tried to copy a document many times but the copy it prints is awful with ghosting and smudged letters. The double sided printing is a joke!!! You need to manually remove your paper and re insert it to print the second page on the other side...are they serious??? You can do THAT with any printer.
I can't print from my iPad, yet it shows a phone and tablet on the front of the box. This is going back to BigW. If they won't refund it will go in the bin.
Absolute scam. No more epson for me.
Brand new genuine colour cartridges inserted a few months back. I never ever print in colour and every time the dialogue pops up to tell me how much ink I have it has dropped and now it wants me to put in new cartridges! what a joke. Epson should be ashamed.

This printer is like a bad joke and it is going in the rubbish as soon as the ink runs out. Always bought HP printers and been happy - made the mistake of buying this one on special with a "how bad can it be?" mindset. Ah - famous last words.
Instructions rely on you having a CD drive, they even have a video of setting up wifi that begins with a checklist "Do you have a wifi network?" Lucky they asked that question ha? midway it says "insert the CD" shame they don't have that in the bloody checklist. Epson - seriously - do some stats. I think
Works perfectly so far
We've only had this printer for 24 hours, so time will tell, but looking at previous reviews and how difficult it was to set up for others I was a bit nervous. We bought this forgetting that it had rated so poorly! So far it has been really easy to set up and I really like the wifi connectivity which is working well. Cord free! Hurrah! We got this for $68 at Big W, down from $88.00 at the moment. One of the big reasons we went with this one is that it has individual cartridges for each colour. So if you run out of yellow for example, you only

So you might spend a little less on a different printer, but the ongoing cartridge costs are much greater. Print is a bit slow and I'm still figuring out how to print from emails, but for someone like me who can be a bit clueless I've actually found it relatively user friendly. The box says to get extra cartridges but it actually comes with a full set ($50.00 to buy all 4 at Big W, or approx $13.00 each). It does not come with a USB cable, but I suppose that is the point of this printer - you shouldn't need one, all going well! We bought this for home use - printing itineraries for our regular travel, and with upcoming tax time being able to print and scan all our documents off. This will be more than sufficient for us. The CD setup on my laptop was incredibly straightforward, it went through a setup wizard straight away. I then had to install the EPSON app on my phone. When you open a document it then gives you the option of what program you want to use to open the dcoument, so it's a matter of simply selecting EPSON if it's something you're wanting to print and it opens the app. Very straightforward. Having said that, I haven't nailed it completely, but so far so good.Find out how Epson XP-220 compares to other Printers

Last epson printer for me
The printer is awful. Started out ok but it just got worse and worse. Its extremely confusing to use as well. The ink light flashes so you lift the lid and follow the printed instructions except that the button doesn't seem to do anything. The printer drivers are 23mb and when finished don't seem to have added anything.
There are enough brands out there that i will avoid epson fully now.
January 21st 2018 Update: Printer from the 80's
Scanning is unbearably slow.
The software looks like it was written in vb6.
Printer eat ink cartridges like crazy.
The only usage i have found with it is raising my blood pressure.
Really this printer is a poor excuse for a printer, spend extra, save in the long run buy something else.
Quick to install and prints well
I found the Epson 220 to be easy to install with cd and printed well from the first test page. I use it with my old usb cable and works ok. Scans well. Not too much extra software came with it which can make using machine less complicated. Its small too which means it doesnt take up too much room on my desk. The price was ok and quality of print nice.
This printer is by far the worst I've ever encountered
Have had so many issues with this printer and I have only had it for two months. First I had issues with the wi-fi not connecting to the printer properly so I went out and bought a usb cable to connect to the printer and then it said ink is not recognisable so I went and bought two new ink cartridges that might I add are not cheap, so it proceeded to tell me they are not recognisable, so I phoned Epson to see what they can do and received nothing but the rudest worker. Absolute rubbish do not buy from this brand, I know I never will again.

Woeful product!
I was actually quite relieved to read so many people having the same problems with this terrible product. I purchased it mainly for the scanner but it has been a nightmare to set up. The wifi option does not work and half the time neither does the cable option. I've reloaded the software three times and I still cannot get the icon to work. I can only access the scanner through my control panel and the software for the scanner component is useless! It could also possibly be the slowest scanner ever made. No wonder Harvey Norman were selling these for $65. I've had it for ten days and its off to St Vinnies today. I cannot be bothered even trying to get a refund!!
