Memory Foam Mattress

Wondering if this foam allows smooth turning for a larger person with bad back and frozen shoulder? Have tried DeStill pocket sprung mattress but wouldn't recommend. Jane

Sorry Jane for late reply. The mattress is not light but lighter than a normal innerspring mattress - well, lighter than the one I had. It is definitely a two man job to turn the mattress - mine is King size so it is a little tricky. My understanding is that it needs to be turned every 3 months for the first year. After that, maybe once a year. We had a single mattress as well and I could do that on my own but I don't have a shoulder problem. So, not sure how you would handle it. Hope this is of some help.

You rotate it every 3 months not flip it so you shouldn't have an issue.

Is this the same as pure foam memory mattress that super Amart sells

1 answer
Ergoflex
Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi Terri, The 'Pure Form' mattress as it is referred to is a memory foam mattress however a direct comparison is not possible. Super Amart choose not to declare the composition of their mattress including depth of memory foam and density rating. The Ergoflex mattress is the only online mattress that compares with Tempur.

The mattress does get warm however I use a cotton water repellent mattress cover as well as pure cotton sheets, no polyester. If the weather is hot we have either a ceiling fan or air conditioning the mattress is fine. I would not have any other mattress hope this helps.

My hubby runs warm so we were a bit worried but after 5 years it hasn't been an issue. Takes a few weeks to get used to though.

Does this Ergoflex Mattress being a Memory Foam is base on what products and how many years guarantee
the product is? The firmness is Medium, does it comes a bit softer like Plush?

1 answer
BeverleyBreckell
BeverleyBreckell

Warranty is 10years. My mattress is moved every week by my husband and myself and shows no sign of wear. The firmness is medium, once you are on the mattress your body moulds into it. There is no tossing and turning like we have experienced in mattress before the Ergoflex. Refer to Ergoflex site for the materials used in the mattress as it is explained fully on their site.

How much is a double bed memory form mattress, firmness I like a soft mattress, how thick is the mattress

1 answer
Ergoflex
Matthew W.Ergoflex

The Ergoflex double mattress is priced currently at $799. All of our mattresses are classed as medium/firm, and only come in one variety. The density of the visco-elastic memory foam has been carefully developed to provide an optimum body support and superior longevity, which most people since 2010 in Australia find is to their preference. The mattress is 21cms high, perfect for all sheet sets. Kind regards, Ergoflex.

The last two king size beds I have purchased have been far too heavy to lift when changing the sheets.
Are these mattresses heavy to lift?

2 answers

They are heavy, but I can lift the edge to change the (fitted) sheet (57yo fit female). The mattress sort of bends up when you lift the corner - but to move it properly is a 2 man job

This is one of the reasons why I love this mattress so much. I'm in my late fifties and don't have much help and I find it easy. The corners bend so making my bed is easier than my other mattresses in my house.

Hi, my partner and I need a new bed which will support both of us. I need a medium hardness bed and he needs a hard bed as he weighs a lot more than me. The medium bed is too soft for him and we end up rolling into the middle. Will this mattress provide enough support for both of us? Has anyone else had this issue with beds?

Rachel C

My partner is quite a bit heavier than me and we have struggled with me rolling into his 'dip' all the time with past mattresses. We've never had this problem with the Ergoflex, he makes his own shape on his side and I make mine on our side. It's one of the reasons I'm so happy with it. Our choice was a medium hard. Good luck.

Shane C
Shane C

I think you will find this mattress suits you very well, because the memory foam adjusts to your body every time you lie down on it, so rolling into the middle is not an issue. I'm quite a bit heavier than my wife, too, and like the previous poster, find that she makes her own shape on her side and I make my shape on my side of the bed. Memory foam is great for this situation, as it doesn't get weighed down across the width of the mattress like springed mattresses do.

I have bought 4 of these over the years and I have had many different people in all shapes and sizes sleeping on them without any complaints. In fact I couldn't recommend them enough. I find that you don't move as much as a normal mattress as it contours your body and you don't toss and turn. From the first King I bought 4 years to the latest one a few months ago they have been consistent, good value and most importantly a quality product.

No, you cannot use any toppers or overlays with these mattresses, it's explained in the company blurb but basically you may only use their cover designed to protect the mattress or the required body heat does not activate the foam, then the thing is even harder.

hello, I am considering buying an Ergoflex mattress but due to my scoliosis, frozen shoulder and sciatica, I am rather nervous about this purchase. Is there anywhere I can go and try out an Ergoflex mattress? I live in Hawthorn, Melbourne. Do you offer a trial period? I am currently sleeping on a medium firm spring coil mattress and base. The new mattress would go on a cast iron bed with 35mm slats.
Thank you,

Hi Heather,

Sorry to hear of your ailments.

I was also anxious when I purchased my Erfoflex, unfortunately i am not aware of any place you can go to test. I think there is a more expensive brand called Tempur that you may be able to test in your area. I can tell you that when others sleep on my Ergoflex that are very happy, my parents in laws went out and purchased one weeks after sleeping on ours.

All the best.

Dear Bev; thank you for your question. Whilst we do understand and appreciate that the firmness level of our mattresses may be exceptionally popular with the vast majority, we do accept that it may not be to everybody's personal preference, and subsequently provide a trial and return period to assist our customers with this. We are however rather alarmed at your comment that the mattress 'has ripped in many places' as clearly this is more than rather unusual, and obviously not something that happens with normal use. We would be grateful if you could contact us directly at [email protected] as we are understandably keen to investigate the issue you report and understand the extent of this and ultimately determine how exactly how this has happened. Assuring you of our best attention at all times. Regards. Ergoflex Australia.

Memory Foam Mattress

Hi I am in the UK but they don't have a question and answer page on the UK Ergoflex site, as have been looking at buying a Memory foam matteress.
I have a bad back but have recently developed a bad shoulder which I am currently having treatment for. My current bed is a Kingsize Sleepezzee 2000 pocket spring, Orthopaedic comfort grade 1, which has been good for my back but is now making my shoulder worse, as even after treatment when my shoulder feels a lot better, after the nights sleep my shoulder feels bad again!. Would the Ergoflex make a difference as I am a side sleeper and mostly all the comments are about backs and nothing about shoulder problems? Thanks Mike

As I said in my review, the Ergo Flex does take a little time to get used to because it is not as thick as the usual spring mattresses, and of course, softer. However, you can feel it supporting you once you lie down.
As well as having back problems, I also had neck problems and shoulder problems. I, too am a side-sleeper. I found that my back problems started to diminish after a time, and my neck has really improved. My shoulder has improved, but some days I still feel pain in it, and other days it feels good, so it seems to gradually be getting better.
As well as buying the Ergo Flex mattress, I purchased a memory foam pillow, which has also helped the way I sleep, as I found that with some pillows your neck is at an odd angle, which also puts strain on your shoulder.
Overall, from my personal experiences, I can honestly say that this mattress has helped my problems immensely.

Vivek

My wife and myself had neck pain which got relieved after using ergoflex. My wife is a side sleeper and am an occassional side sleeper. Both of us feel much better as it relieves pressure on shoulder/neck. I strongly recommend you buy a suitable memory foam pillow as well which should help you very much..

After my experience, please dont buy Ergoflex! Especially for heat. I live in Brisbane and we had the mattress last year winter and sweated hard. The material just does not let your body breathe like the way theyre stating. We returned ours without problems and have purchased store bought mattress - one you can actually touch and feel and lie on before buying!

Hello,
I am quite concerned about chemicals used in providing bacterial, fungal and mold protection to bedding, namely mattresses as you can't wash them to remove the chemicals. On your website you state the following but I can't find anywhere on your website what chemicals are used to achieve this protection against microbes, can I ask please what your mattresses are treated with?

Ergoflex® memory foam mattresses are prepared with integral anti-allergenic properties. Laboratory tests show that foams, fibres and fabrics treated at the manufacturing stage provide effective control of house dust mites (bed bugs) as well as controlling the growth of bacteria, moulds, mildew and fungi - important triggers for allergenic and asthmatic responses, particularly in children.

Ergoflex uses a proven anti-microbial compound that has passed the most stringent international testing procedures for effectiveness and safety - adding further benefits to the Ergoflex® memory foam mattresses.

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi, thank you for your question. The treatment used to ensure are products are anti-microbial is exceptionally common, and you are likely to have encountered this previously as it is regularly added to textiles used in the production of socks, underwear, footwear, etc. The treatment is deemed entirely safe and is in fact Oeko-Tex certified in all categories meaning it is independently tested and deemed entirely free of harmful substances.
For more information on Okeo Tex approved products please visit: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/manufacturers/manufacturers.xhtml
Additionally, should you have further questions we can assist with please contact us directly at [email protected]. Kind regards, Ergoflex Australia

Shar
Shar

Thank you for your answer, but could you please tell me what treatment is used, rather than just telling me that it is certified. I do believe it is the customers right to know such things so we can make informed decisions on the products we choose to bring into our living environment.

The Ergo Flex in my opinion is the better mattress, I've owned the Tempur original but I couldn't sleep on due to it being too firm the ergoflex hands down is more superior to tempur!!!

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi, thank you for your enquiry. Our mattresses can be safely used with all types of bed bases, even adjustable electrics, ensembles or divans. The bed base that you refer to we believe to be an ensemble base (upon researching on the internet), therefore it will work fine.
However we would advise that it will perform better on a stable platform such as a slatted bed base as a slatted base provides excellent ventilation for the mattress. Kind regards Ergoflex Australia.

I would like to know where to buy a platform bed as suggested on Ergoflexs website to support their mattress. We have been looking at Tommy Swiss bed bases and, whilst stylish looking and a great price, their slats appear to be too wide apart, however, we were thinking of putting plywood (as suggested on website) on top of the Tommy Swiss slats.

1 answer

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi Daphne, thank you for your question. Many of our customers purchase slatted bed bases from the following retailers: Fantastic Furniture, Harvey Norman and David Jones. Although we do state that the gap between the slats should be no wider than 5 - 7cms, you will be fine with up to 10cms. We would not advise putting plywood onto the slats. Memory foam mattresses require air ventilation. Regards, Ergoflex Australia.
