Memory Foam Mattress

Hi, would your product be suitable for far north Queensland, as you mention that the mattress warm quicker than a traditional mattres?.

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi, You will find all memory foam mattresses warmer to sleep on than traditional inner spring mattresses - as the memory foam contours around you to provide the support & pressure relieving qualities they are known for, this also means that more of you is in direct contact with the mattress, making you feel more insulated, and slightly warmer. You may have read that some find our mattress warmer, whereas others do not. This is due to the fact we are all different shapes, weights, and sizes, and have different preferences. We’ve sold thousands of mattresses to customers across Australia, including to far north QLD, the NT and across WA with no complaints regarding heat. The question you must ask yourself is whether feeling slightly warmer will be a concern for you. Please let us know if we can help you further, kind regards, Ergoflex Australia.

Can you please tell me what the main difference between the Tempur and the ergo flex memory matress is. Why is yours so much cheaper. Thanks

Hi, thank you for your enquiry. At Ergoflex, we're confident that we offer a viable high quality value alternative to Tempur mattresses. For more information please visit the following web page. http://www.ergoflex.com.au/guide-to-memory-foam#638
In Australia we are currently an internet only business. This enables us to sell our mattresses directly to the customer at the lowest possible prices. At present we also only sell one type and style of memory foam mattress in Australia, again ensuring we are as commercially efficient as possible and can guarantee the lowest possible retail prices. The current depth, density, firmness rating, layering and overall composition of the Ergoflex Australia mattress is however what we believe to be the optimum performing mix of materials for the mass market.

Memory Foam Mattress

We are currently co-sleeping with our 9 month old son and as a result want a larger bed. We are looking at the King size Ergo Flex.

For safety reasons we would like to put the mattress flat on the floor for the first 6-12months.

Would this damage the matress in any way?

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi Kevin, thank you for your enquiry. Placing the mattress on the floor will not damage it structurally but because of potential humidity between the bottom of the mattress and carpet/floor surface the mattress may develop mould. This would certainly be unhealthy and also damage the mattress beyond repair. Our advice would be to visit a bedding retailer such as Fantastic Furniture and purchase a low cost slatted bed base that you could lower the legs on to be closer to the floor. Please let us know if we can help further, Regards, Ergoflex Australia.

Memory Foam Mattress

Can I place mattress onto existing base I have?
Are there diff types of mattress like firmness qualities etc?

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi Elouise, thank you for your enquiry. Our mattresses can be safely used with all types of bed, even adjustable electrics or divans. We would however advise that whilst it is ok to use Ergoflex memory foam mattresses with a slightly sprung bed base it will perform better on a stable platform such as a slatted base. All of our mattresses are rated medium to firm.
Please let us know if we can help you further. Kind regards, Ergoflex Australia.

Hi Karen, thank you for your enquiry.
I’m afraid we do not sell the mattress/electric bed base system that you refer to below. However the Ergoflex mattress works well on all types of bed bases even electric therefore you could purchase your mattress from us and your electric bed base from another supplier.
Please let me know if we can help further, Regards Ergoflex AU.

Memory Foam Mattress

My wife and I have a slat bed with mattress and we have an electric blanket for those cold nights. I noticed that with the ergoflex mattress that you are not able to use electric blankets as it can deform the visco-elastic foam and damage the body-moulding performance.
How long does it take to generate and create good heat and warmth as my wife loves her electric blanket?
And at the other end of the scale, I tend to generate to much body heat and find it difficult to keep cool in summer and at times winter, will it become to hot and uncomfotable for me with this mattress?

1 answer
Ergoflex
Matthew W.Ergoflex

Thank you for your enquiry. You are correct, because Ergoflex memory foam mattresses are temperature sensitive, the heat from an electric blanket could deform the visco-elastic foam and damage the body-moulding performance over time. However what you will find is that the mattress does warm quicker than a traditional mattress replacing the need for an electric blanket.
Memory foam mattresses are warmer to sleep on than traditional inner spring constructed mattresses - as the memory foam contours around you to provide the support and pressure relieving qualities they are known for, this also means that more of you is in direct contact with the mattress, and therefore this makes you feel more insulated, and slightly warmer. If you tend to generate too much body heat on a traditional mattress then we would advise against purchasing a memory foam mattress (or even latex mattress) at this time.

Memory Foam Mattress

Does the memory foam get harder after years of use from sweat? I have a Tempur pillow for 10 years now and it's hard as a rock now, fails to spring back up. Also what is the difference between the Dunlop memory foam and the Ergoflex? - i've had dunlop memory foam get unwrapped infront of me and it didn't smell. Finally, is the memory foam made in China?

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Thank you for your enquiry. The memory foam should not get harder from sweat. If concerned about perspiration and the potential negative effects over time then an Ergoflex mattress protector may be a wise addition to any potential purchase. The Dunlop Memory Foam and the Ergoflex Memory Foam will both be manufactured in similar ways using similar properties. What’s important is to compare the mattress specifications of the Dunlop and Ergoflex Mattress under review as that is where differences will lay. In answer to your final question, our mattresses and their components are made in state of the art facilities in China and Europe. Please let us know if we can help further, Regards, Ergoflex Australia.

Memory Foam Mattress

This Mattress reads fantastically, but can I use it on an ensemble base, or does it have to be a slat or firm base?

Our mattresses can be safely used with all types of bed base, even adjustable electrics, divans or ensembles. We would however advise that whilst it is ok to use Ergo Flex memory foam mattresses with a slightly sprung bed base it will perform best on a stable platform such as a slat base.
If you decide to use a slatted bed base, we do advise that the gaps between the slats should be no wider than 2 - 3 inches.

Memory Foam Mattress

I wonder if the 'medium/firm' mattress will not be soft enough for an elderly Asian lady who is 155cm tall around 50-53 kg. I have always been advised during past purchases to get a 'soft' mattress for her comfort.

Let me begin by stating that I am no expert so treat my answer with caution. It seems to me that the hard/soft thing is almost irrelavant when it comes to memory foam. Whilst it is solid underneath the top layer moulds to your weight. I like a firm mattress and the soft top moulds to me easily (I am 97kg) but my two year old grandaughter also sinks into the top layer and she is only about 13 kg. If not sure go and test a memory foam mattress at a retail outlet. It is quite a different feeling to innersprings.

Memory Foam Mattress

Someone said that if you spill anything on the mattress it's ruined. Is that true? I've spilt water on my bed before - bit concerned if water or a mishap with a cuppa would ruin a $800 mattress.

Matthew W.Ergoflex

Hi, You should avoid getting the mattress wet wherever possible as liquid if spilt in large volumes can affect the performance of the foam over the long term. If the mattress does get wet we advise you to dry the mattress as quick as possible. We do sell waterproof protectors to protect you for this eventuality. Our protectors are lightweight, breathable and waterproof and are available on our website. Regards, Matthew, Ergoflex Australia.

It gets hotter than a regular mattress, but not uncomfortable. You just use fewer covers. You will come to appreciate the warmth in winter.

I haven't tried the Tempur so can only speak about my experience with the Ergo Flex, and from a menopausal point of view :), I haven't noticed any heat being generated from the mattress. No complaints, whatsoever.
