Can anyone tell me how much heat radiates from the underside of the BBQ, I'd like to set it up on a plastic table and don't want to melt it
3 answers
Very little, we have our on a plastic table and its not an issue. The biggest heat radiation comes from the back, so probably best to keep it back from any walls.
My Buddy is set up on a wrought iron table. Setting up on a plastic table is courting disaster.
These BBQ's do radiate a lot of heat and plastic anywhere near them is not recommended,
I use my Neo Buddy on a fold up plastic table and haven't had any problems at all, great little BBQ for outside my Jayco Swan.

When heating up the BBQ for cooking steak or chops do you have the hood down
1 answer
Yes. I even leave the hold down when doing steaks, though that probably doesn't matter. But it does heat up much faster with the hood down.

Can you run your buddy at a lower temperature easily if you want to cook low and slow?

Hi everyone how long does it take to cook a chicken or roast lamb and do you cook potatoes in foil trays in BBq?
2 answers
It took us 2hours to cook a decent sized lamb roast and we bought ourselves a small coated roasting pan for our buddy and our potatoes were cooked beautifully. They could stick in the aluminium pans.
The Neo Buddy is essentially a BBQ and not a roasting oven, but it does roast quite well, IF you can get the temperature up to around 250c which is not easy in this model.
At 250c it would take about 1 hour to cook a small roast, with all the veggies.
A large roast perhaps as much as 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the size of the roast.
I usually wrap potatos in foil and then place in an aluminium tray to cook. At 250c takes about 1 hour. Pumpkin I always wrap in foil. Depending on how thick they are cut, at normal temperature will take 30-40 mins to cook through.
The food tastes great no doubt about that.

One side compartment doesnt close properly, wont clip in, where do l get spare? Thanks.

Probably from who every you brought it from (Bunnings?)
I must admit to some confusion - the Neo doesn't have side compartments.
We dont know what you mean by side compartments either. Do you mean where it clips onto the stand??
Can you buy a full grill plate fro the Neo Buddy ?

Has anyone tried cooking scones bread etc
and using gas bottles less than 4kg?
1 answer
I'm afraid I haven't tried baking in it - might be ok though getting the right temperature might be tricky.
4kg Gas bottle should be fine.

can you fit a pizza stone in one?
4 answers
I've never tried, but have spoken with a owner who said they did. Measure up first :)
Have since tried this, works well.
I have a pizza stone in my Buddy and it works extremely well. Just make sure you measure correctly before you buy the stone, as the space is not that wide.
