I have inherited an Ezidri Snackmaker FD500 and I'm super excited to try it out... but I didn't get an instruction manual. Please help!!

I noticed the control panel where you select the temperature at the base of the unit gets quite a bit hotter than the rest of the base unit. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've never noticed it but then again, I don't touch the control panel unless I'm turning it on. I use the dryer on my kitchen bench, let it run overnight and turn it off at the power point in the morning, so I haven't noticed anything - sorry!
