We brought our camper trailer off ebay in November and collected it from Melbourne (we live in Qld) just before Christmas. Seemed very happy with the tent when we set it up in my in laws garden, but noticed a few issues with the trailer. The pipe from the water tank was kinked and would not allow water through. The electric brakes were not connected. The wiring for the battery box has no insulation through the hole in the floor of the trailer and the remaining wiring leaves a lot to be desired (?was this really done by an electrician).

we drove the trailer home and the straps/clips that help hold the tent cover down on the trailer broke......just driving and not being used. We contacted the Kilsyth branch and they were anything but helpful. My wife made several calls to them and kept being told they would get back to her but this did not happen in the time frame they said. When we did eventually get through to them the gentleman in the service/maintenance department was rude and very unhelpful and basically told us to contact Brisbane because we live in Queensland. He was not at all interested in our problems or the fact that our trailer came from them. We contacted Brisbane who were friendly and far more helpful, however they did not call us back as promised and it took us chasing them to get anywhere. Sadly they were unable to help us get our problems fixed before our first trip and so I redid the hose for the water tank and we just accepted that the straps were not going to be working. Sadly we had a bad start to our first trip. We had the trailer loaded and the water tank full and about 10 mins out of town the trailer acquired a vibration so we pulled over and checked the wheels and found that the bearings had excessive free play. We called the Brisbane office. The lady was very friendly but was not able to help us very much. We managed to get the car into a local garage (we would not have been able to get it home) where they adjusted a wheel bearing which seemed to fix the problem, but now there is grease coming out from the hubcap and tyre rim. Once at our camp site we set up the tent as best as possible - we had no instructions or idea where all the poles went as we had received nothing from the company when we collected the trailer. They also gave us no instructions on seasoning the tent. We found that many of the poles had broken clips and were not even usable. Also several of the poles had the black end caps missing. We realise this was not the most expensive trailer but we did still expect all the parts to be whole and complete and in working order. We also had problems when it rained as we had a lot of water coming into the annexe and water came through the roof of the tent onto our bed. Since returning home we have found that when you lift up the trailer lid the rubber seal around the top of the trailer is starting to lift off. Since returning from our trip we have contacted the Brisbane office again and they were meant to email us full instructions on how to set up the tent properly and a return email address so we could send them an email with a list of the faults so they could be documented, but we still have had nothing from them.2 comments
Its been a long time coming but finally I have had the time to complete the review. The Camper Trailer went back to the Brisbane office. A new tent was fitted along with new hubs / Bearing assy's and ... Read more
the other minor details were corrected as described earlier. Once we dropped the trailer in it took about a week to repair, which suited us as we have to travel 2 hours to get to them and 2 hours back. Once we got home a quick inspection found one of the hub caps had come off and grease was everywhere on the wheel and wheel arch. The straps on the weather cover had again come undone. We have been able to use it once and I must say it is nice now its not leaking water and the way Brisbane office looked after us is very good.

Very disappointed with product and service
We purchased our DL230 camper 2 years ago. Much like many of the other posts on this site, on delivery the electric brakes did not work, we had several sharp edges on the kitchen and a leaking sink, we also found the hold down straps for the cover were not connected. We took the trailer back in, had brakes properly connected and being a cheaper camper I was prepared to deal with the rest. 2 years on we went to set up our camper and found all of the black tape used on the tent (on the hold down straps and where all peg loops are connected) had ...Read more
completely perished and fell apart as soon as we touched it. This has made the tent unusable. When I contacted Ezy Trail about this I was told it was 2 years old so there was nothing they could do about it and that it was my problem to resolve. When I expressed my disappointment and said I would take it further and be putting reviews on the internet I was also told to be carefull what I post on the internet as I could be charged with defamation.3 comments

nger pointing that someone else would decide and let us know - which they never did. Neither of the staff we dealt with - the Manager and Assistant Manager - could answer our one simple question - "if this was your camper, two years old and unusable, what would you do?" So we picked up our trailer with a new cover that we didn't need, as that particular part was never broken, and straps over the top that had never been included in original trailer, however the actual tent loops still remain unfixed (the two loops easiest to get to under the cover were fixed but none of the many others on the three different rooms were attended to, these are still disintegrating.) All in all we were given the run around about a product that they actually admitted had defective parts, that the company had since changed suppliers. I recommend to buy elsewhere.Similar opinion? Could be better
Its the basic things that count wires for light are not covered bare wires rubbing in steel where the run through a hole, you would thing if you spent just over $7500 you would get the gas hose for the stove but noooo $75 later you go back and have to buy it. Customer service doesn't meen anything at the kilsyth ezytrail onky good thing I could say after getting annoyed and arguing with a sales member the owner dig help me as when I picked up the camper I was told the kids room would be weeks away Oo but we can post it to you I was told thanks to the owener I was given the display one that was in the show room.

No communication what so ever.
Ezy trailer owe me some money but communication are all but impossible. Will not answer emails and when I do have contact they say I will get it. Several people told me not to deal with them and I should have taken their advice. Stay well; clear.

Ezytrail hard floor camper
Basicly a sound trailer. However to open the top you need to be superman. The tent is good, the kitchen and other bits and pieces are pretty poor.. After sales service, non existent, Wiring is hopeless for offroad. I have had mine for two years they may have improved the models???? but not the service

Pretty good
Bought the aluminum one with the drawers last year off ebay. Went to Melbourne to pick it up (we live in Adelaide). The lights and electric brakes on the one that they had for us weren't working. Spent the whole day wrangling with their staff who claimed it was the car brake controller that wasn't working. We got another one they had ready - brakes and everything else working. Lesson - make sure you know your stuff, my partner does and did not budge otherwise we would have driven off with a faulty trailer.
Since then my partner had all electr...Read more

Excellent value for the price
Bought the trailer, SY6-DL230 on ebay for $5k. Great finish, easy set up, rides well. Installing lighting and few other mod cons but certainly have no complaints. Passed a few tests and I would say we will have a great relationship for years to come. I was very happy with the deal and the staff could not have been more helpful.
Set up and finish very good, inexpensive, pleasure to tow

Sturdy, solid, great value, love it!
Bought second hand the gal dipped model. No rusting. Pulls nicely on the road when driving. Well balanced. Our model lacks grommits in holes where cables go through. Love the versatility of the different annex attachments and being able to have walls up or down depending on weather. Easy to get airflow through the tent. We have a family of seven and it accommodates us beautifully. Great swing out tailgate kitchen. We had the top of the trailer modified with gas struts to lift up for easy loading. Solid welds, solid poles. Same set up time as other trailers the same size. Water tight. Value for money
Versatility, large size, strong, sturdy
No grommets in holes where cables go though and water tank tubes flimsy

Good budget camper trailer
My requirements were a trailer that wasn’t all too flashy but still had the grit to weather tough Australian conditions. All this at a suitable price, the less spent the better. I purchased the Ezytrail Camper Trailer EZPUG-DL230 last October and after several trials, I’m happy to report that it has stood the test.
You’d never really expect a product of this quality for the price on the tag. Even at first appearance, the coated finish will leave you raring to go. While it may be a budget trailer, the look of the trailer itself certainly does...Read more
n’t convey any sort of compromise in it. Which could also be said for its actual contents. Towing this trailer around, you’d be surprised just how tough it really is – nevertheless, the braking system and suspension should save you a lot of heartburn in your adventures in the Australian outdoors. The trailer is equipped with a xl size toolbox for whenever you need to work on it and a large, spanking set of wheels that would never let you down in tough conditions. There’s also a very handy kitchen set (including a stove and water tank) with your purchase that should ensure you’re comfortable and at home wherever you go. Now if there is one complaint I do have about the trailer – it is that while it fulfills all necessities excellently, it still lacks a few bells and whistles. The flooring of the trailer and its interiors, for instance – could be improved. However, keeping in mind the price tag and the trailer’s status as a budget trailer – I’d say its impossible to have any real grievance against this. The ease of modification that comes along with this also makes it a must-buy, and any shortfalls are easily overcome by putting in a little work of your own. In short, top notch stuff. Cheers. Cheap Chinese Import Assembled in a Melbourne factory
Had issues from the moment i took delivery. The after sales staff/warranty personal are non responsive and will not assist or pretend to not understand what your problem is. 6 emails and 12 phone calls still with no action on their behalf
These trailers are hastly assembled so i did not expect a perfect camper but i did expect a lot better that what i received and payed for.
The good:
-Good sized tent, easy to setup and pulldown after several trials to get used to its operations.
-Wheels and tyres seem fine
-Electric Brakes work well with the added handbrake being handy
-Good stone guard
The bad: ...Read more
-Cheap tent poles, half will either fall apart or not pull apart smothly. -Bad foam mattress only 75mm thick, they advertise it as a king which it it. But is too big for the floor space to allow correct movement of the tent poles. If you have any back issues this needs to be replaced -Water leaks from the corned zips whick allow electrical cables into the tent -Stainless kitchen is very cheap stainless and will have rust spots on it in a matter of days. Scratched weld marks on top of counter. Sharp edges that require filing down. The sink drain pipe does not fit through the alloted hole and requires a larger hole drilled in. -The wiring for the tailights and 12v water pump required adjusting. They just twist the cable and tape it. Connectors hanging low and not secured to the rear undercarrriage. (I had my tailights fail due to being wires pulled apart from poor wiring placement) -The foam seals on the tailgate required replacing as my trailer was full of water after 1 night of light rain. -The water tank leaked as soon as water was put in it. I had to pull all the connectors and pipes of reseal them all and replace the hoses as they were cheap quality not allowing to seal over the barbs. -The external hand pum failed straight away. (i got it working by pulling apart and replacing the o-rings) it is working now but needs to be replaced also. -The front toolbox leaks water around all the seams and joins. I repaired this by resealing the joins and holes for handle. The really bad: -My trailer lasted 1 week outside before it was covered in rust. (It lightly rained 1 night and i mean light rain only 1.5mm was measured) The rust was on every join and weld spot. The trailer is powdercoated but porly prepared and sealed prior to coating resulting in a rusty trailer. I had to sand back most of the trailer, seal it and paint it to prevent this happening again. 2 days work and $$$ - The rust also occured inside the trailer due to the tailgate leaking water. requiring the above repairs also. **Please note this is my personal experience with my trailer, other trailers may not be the same as mine Tent size, eay to tow No warranty service at allSimilar opinion? Disappointment
From the moment I we purchased this trailer on eBay we got the run around from this company. I was told I drive to Brisbane to pick it up 2hrs drive from where I live, only to be told my trailer was not on the delivery. Come back next week!
When I managed to finally take delivery the ark power pack was missing and only partially wired for installation.
Following the set up instructions to season the tent. It was missing one of the first support posts for the bed sections - vital part for assembly. I had to modify another part.

Jon, I have a Stirling Z and the power does not have to be switched on to charge the batteries with a solar panel when connected through the Anderson plug. However if you want to see that the battery is charging you will need to turn on the power to read the voltmeter or you can measure current flow (amps) with a suitable clamp style meter.

Just a follow up and more to come.
lmed off for an extra week until the general manager back, we got hold of the general manager he has promised to call back the following day but didn't. We have left messages for him to recontact us and advise us on what is gong to happen for repairs or refunds. Melbourne Customer service assistance zero rating, customer service action zero again. My advice up until now is go elsewhere, unless you want to pay for poor quality, not interested in warranty or back up and being palmed off. I will update once we have had another week responses or action from the Melbourne branch of ezy trail campers. We have now been advised by our local ezy trail store they can only repair the trailer but do nothing with the tent.
