I have an Ezytrail Albany-Z. Does the power have to be switched on to charge the batteries with a solar panel?
1 answer
Jon, I have a Stirling Z and the power does not have to be switched on to charge the batteries with a solar panel when connected through the Anderson plug. However if you want to see that the battery is charging you will need to turn on the power to read the voltmeter or you can measure current flow (amps) with a suitable clamp style meter.

Hi guys,
We have a new Lincoln Mk3 and we just set it up for the first time to season it and have zero power. The power was switched off while being stored so the batteries should be fine. We also have no power at the main panel when connected to 240 mains.

A few years back I purchased a used EzyTrail camper trailer and subsequently one of the opening/closing gas struts failed. I had both struts replaced by a local mechanic and since then it hasnt opened fully, really annoying having a sloping floor. Cant someone please contact me to discus how to source the correct struts?
The current struts that arent working correctly are 800mm, Dia 14-28, 1500N

I have read quite a few reviews of Ezytrail campers. You say they are from verified customers yet i find they all appear to use very similar wording. For eg: We spent significant time researching camper trailers: We spent quite awhile researching Off Road Trailers; We spent a number of months searching for our new camper; we had been looking for awhile for a camper/van. Excuse me for being a cynic but i reckon they were all written by the same person. Happy to be proven wrong as it is very hard to find a review site with any credibility.

I dont work for Ezytrail I am a customer that put a review up about my experience with them and the product I purchased
I bought my stirling z in july, spent long weekend at warrumbungles n.p.
Best advice, go to camping show and then go showroom where you can spend more time looking over the campers. Penrith helped me and were quite happy to let me wander. Its really a see for yourself. Its your money
The only criticism I'd make of the many positive reviews is that they are all from new owners who haven't used the vans much. It's almost like they give a positive incentive for a review. If you do a lot of outback travel on rough roads these vans may not be the best choice.

I am thinking about the Albany camper trailer. It is only for 2 adults so the size is perfect. I intend to travel around Aus with a lot of offroad work included. I am a little concerned that there is no option to plug 240v when staying in one place for a week or so.
I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions that you can offer.
This will be my first time in the camping/caravan scene.
Thanks
Garry

Hey Grumpy it’s no great stress, I purchased an 8 stage charger from Australia Direct and installed it myself and when I am parked up in a park I plug into the mains power and it keeps my batteries tip top hope this was a help and happy camping.
Thanks Peter your idea was appreciated
The albany has some positives and negatives.
I needs a level ground. I was tending towards the albany but ended up with the stirling z.
The stirling is easier to put up, comes with a 240 charger for the battery, options for luggage rack and solar panels.also has a seating area. Best advise is go to a showroom and look them over. The sales guys are helpful, no pressure.ask them lots of questions. Even dumb ones.

I have a Parkes 13 picked it up Jan 2022 its great and no problems except the suspension/shockers seem to be too soft and the van rocks side to side and in extreme circumstances starts to sway are there any suspension upgrades to improve this.

I’ve got an Albany got camper, my problem is when we try to close it up it seems to be too tight to put on clamps. The footstool is closed, is there a best way to fold it up Kym

I decided on the stirling z to suit my needs. Use the winch to close it and loosen one clip to hold it close to being closed, then clip the others, then retighten that clip
Hi Kym
The canvas on my sterling has softened after putting up and down about 6 times..... it does get easier over time and tuck as much of the loose canvas into the middle as you close it up..... we have a person on either side also helps.... hope this helps

I have recently purchased a Parkes 13 van from your Geelong store and am three weeks into a three month trip. My main concerns with van are condensation and fridge sliding tray. Every morning the ceiling is wet. I have tried everything from vents open to using a heater but nothing works. Also the sliding tray for fridge keeps jamming. I bought the 95 litre fridge from Jeremy when I purchased van off Jeremy and Paul in Geelong store. Fridge is only half full but will not slide in without a great deal of effort. The wires appear to be loose along the track. Otherwise all going well. Would appreciate any help especially with condensation. Regards Laurie Shiels
