Best On Site Solid Surface Sander I've Used
I've used this sander for years on solid surface finishing and it does a great job, very little dust great biter and polisher, the only thing to be careful for are power chords, very expensive to replace . great work horse no overheating very well sealed for water finish, though you don't have to with this.

One sander for every job!!
Yes it is expensive, yes the consumables are expensive....but so is my time.
I am not a tradesperson, just a DIY guy so deciding to spend so much money on one tool wasn't something I took lightly. But it was money well spent!
I own and run a cafe and have 5 large, long timber table tops that I have to resurface every year. The first year I purchased a well known brand of sander and discs (not cheap but obviously cheaper than the Festool).
Don't get me wrong it worked as it should have, but it took me over 5 hours to remove the polyure...Read more
thane coats from the tables, I used over 50 sanding discs and must of had a few kilos of poly dust all over the floor. The following year a friend of mine had mentioned that I should try the Festool. When I saw the price I obviously thought, NO WAY!! But after doing some research and reading reviews I decided to take the plunge into the Festool world. Am boy am I glad I did!!Similar opinion? Seriously, the best professional tool you can get.
I have been using the Festool RO 150 for several years now, and have found it to be completely reliable and flexible. The two settings for a harder cut, or for a normal orbital cut mean that any sanding task is quickly dealt with. Changing between modes is a simple switch, speed variation is with a roller. Changing sand paper is switching over a velcro sheet, can't get easier than that. If you will be using an orbital sander on a regular basis, this is the one to get. Seriously.
Fantastic workhorse
A bit expensive for the handy man, but a good investment for the tradesman
