Best washing machine I have ever had
Fantastic washing machine - very quick and washes well. I have had it for some years and it has never missed a beat. The only problem now is the filter needs a clean and I can't work out how to do it. Help! Helen

Not big enough for sheets
Since we bought this machine it has never been able to wash bedding. Duvet covers, sheets all get twisted into unbelievable knot's. You cannot wash two sheets at a time, just one. You will have to open the lid and unwind duvet covers at least once. If you overload it it throws itself all over the room spilling water. If you can afford it get the 6.5kg one.

Quality build components but can be bruital on clothing
This machine has given me no problems at all mechanically, and looking at others reviews it seems that it is very well built. My biggest gripe is that the agitator is very aggressive and can (and has) ruin delicates. It has sharp edges and changes direction with aggression. There is also no lint filter that is present to be cleaned and so it can leave your washing a disaster if not properly sorted out. Lastly, it only washes for 10 mins and then spends the next 20 minutes or so filling and emptying for rinses, meaning that it doesn't wash ...Read more
for long and it uses a LOT of water. There has to be better machines out there. PROS + Quality & Reliability - Well built, trouble free use and I would recommend the brand name CONS - If you want a thorough wash you will always be running back to the machine to repeat the wash before it drains. - Can leave a mess of lint throughout the load without care - Can leave your garments ruined without careSimilar opinion? Ruins clothing
This is the most awful washing machine I have ever owned. It has pilled so many of my garments and left permanent lint embedded in them. I purchased the lint filter of the machine and STILL it is awful (only slightly better). Put new clothing in and it will come out looking old. Beware!

Reliable
I've had my machine for 8 years, been moved 7 times across different states and it has never stopped working. Extremely reliable product, would recommend for small households.
I would definitely trust this brand again if buying another washing machine. Unfortunately I have to upgrade to a bigger machine as my family has grown.

Reliable and hardworking
This machine is very easy to use and has lasted very well, even after six years of very regular work. It has slightly less options than the larger models but still has more than enough options for water temp (cold, warm or hot), water level (low, med or high) and spin speed (slow med or fast). Love the simplicity and love the fact that it has lasted so well. Would recommend to anyone

My favourite washing machine
This is my 3rd F&P washing machine over a 25 year span. They are reliable, good to our clothes and I can control the programme as much as I want. I've tried other brands and have ended up selling them and going back to F&P. My only complaint is that it is a bit loud during the fastest spin but as a result, the clothes dry very quickly if spun on this cycle. I am limited to a 5.5kg machine due to space, but when I have a larger laundry, I will get the biggest one that they sell.

Built to last
This beast just won't die i wash 4x pair of dirty coal miner cloths in it every week plus normal wears.
Just keeps powering on.
Only problem i have is with occasional lint noticeable on my black cloths.
Lint catchers can be purchased online that slots into agitator.
would recommend to anyone who wants long lasting machine.

Chews towels
We have this machine at a small - medium allied health practice where it might do 3 loads a week. Although it functions well and is relatively quiet it chews towels and adds pilling to our other items. This is all we wash in it and it allowed us to see it first hand. We can see the bits of towels wrapped around the bottom of the agitator. The towels are high quality and all have been chewed or have lots of long bits of thread hanging off. I would not recommend.

Fisher and paykel washing machine
The biggest problem with F&P washing machine is the control board they seem to fail after a few years
I have checked a few few of them and it seems to be the board all the time not reliable enough on all models and they keep on changing the board why not keep it for a longer period just money making to me

Just fine.
This may not have extra complications but does a very good lint free wash in a surprisingly short time. There is a lint free system just not a bag. There are only three grades of water level which is fine. The high speed spin is also helpful. The controls are easy to follow with a number of options. The capacity seems fine for a small family. I am happy with the choice and that it will do a good job and is good value.

wonderful machine
Had this for over four years and really pleased with it. Leaving this at our beach house now and will be buying another one when we over into our new house. Not big enough for a family but perfect for two or three people. Washes well but just noticed I need to do a warm wash for sheets but I expect that is because we use a lot of body moisturiser so that's to be expected. Would like a soak option but for this price you can't have everything.

Absolutely Marvellous Machine
I cannot believe just how superb this machine is. Not only does is wash efficiently and all my garments including linen and towels all come out washed beautifully. The machine is so quiet. After years & years of only purchasing Simpson machine of which the last purchase of a Simpson 4 years ago was a nightmare from day one so after purchasing my Fisher and Paykel upon the advice of two of my close friends and doing my first wash in the machine it was just heaven personified. I highly recommend this product and have no hesitation whatsoever in endorsing this machine.

What a little ripper great machine
Washes, cleans, rinses and spins like a beauty I work on construction so my cloths get really dirty this little machine cleans them with absolutely no worries and it's fast and really quite so quite I didn't think it was working. Spin speed is 1000 rpm of straight up mumbo my cloths come out almost dry. What a humdinger.would buy another.

absolute rubbish
F.P. replaced my washing machine 1 month ago because of all the reasons you have stated. For two weeks I had a fantastic machine now it is back to dancing around the floor, water spilling over top, had one sheet in,and the noise on the fast spin is louder than any lawn mower. I have had 3 other F.P. machines over the years one lasting 17 years, no problems, now they seem to be making rubbish. Do not buy one of these machines

Yes, but...
This model is basic and affordable. Being basic, it has its limitations and drawbacks, but there are work-arounds to enhance its versatility.
At 5.5kg, it is one of the smaller capacity models on the market. We are a two person household, and it seems big enough for us. One full load and one half load, perhaps two full loads, per week meets our needs.
Because it is a Quicksmart model, it does not have all the bells and whistles of the Washsmart models; however, it does have:
1. Four wash cycles - regular, heavy duty, delicate, wool
2. A selection of wash temperatures - hot, warm, cold
3. A selection of water level - high, medium, low
4. A selection of spin speed - fast, medium, slow, hold.

Terrible splashes water all over the floor
I have only ever used F&P washing machines so was confident that this would be reliable. It is terrible. Do not buy it if you want to do a "high" load. On high water is splashed all over the lid and inside of the washing machine, over the bowl and onto the floor. If you want to do a high load you need to put towells around the washing machine on the floor to soak up the water. Apparently this is called "smartdrive" but there is nothing smart about it. I have had the technicians out watching me do the washing, adding clothes, taking clothe...Read more
s out they couldn't even get it to not splash. They replaced the washing machine with the same model and it did the same thing. Avoid this washing machine like the plague (and perhaps smartdrive altogether). Try another brand - you can no longer rely on F&P.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Not recommended
I've had this machine for two months. Bought from The Good Guys who also installed it.
My previous machines were Simpson and had lasted for more than ten years each. I bought F&P because my friends had never had any issues with F&P. Bad move, have done 10 washes since I've had it with no issues. Now the machine just wants to pump, will only stop after being turned off at the wall. Needless to say can't do a wash. Called the service centre and spoke to a chap who clearly didn't want to work there. Have logged a service request but they only do weekdays( now have to take 1/2 day off work).
I would not recommend F&P, maybe they'll redeem by fixing my machine.....we'll see.

very very quiet function and very efficient
after I have for trial a front loading I make up my mind I went for top loader and is the best decision ever made, full cycle done in 45 minutes, silently done the cloths leave the machine almost completely dried and really clean never gets unbalanced plus it has a button for eco-mode in case you need the cycles done faster saving water and energy really awesome !!!
