Washing Machines Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of washing machine would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
why doesnt it take the lint and hair of the clothes?and where is the lint filter?
the size I can wash the quilts in it..but I'm having a real problem with the lint and hair sticking to it? it does clean the clothes well and not too many problems with the knotting up of clothes.but the hair stiking to it is driving me nuts? other than the hair thing I love the washer....

Ok
Had it for 5 months was great in the beginning but now noticing the lint problem it is shocking & the agitator just catches clothing & towels, have found singlets stretched & wrapped around the fins after each cycle & finding it is shreading edging of towels that arent even old, now wishing I had just purchased another simpson.

Great buy.... Washes like a charm!!!
Great buy!!! The washing machine works very well with both cold and hot water. No lint is left behind on the clothes. Good locking mechanism while washing and spinning the clothes. Washes blankets, doonas and quilts with ease. Colors and whites are washed really great. This washing machine is really efficient with power and also water consumption. I would definitely recommend to everyone!!!!

We found a very good brand and happy so far.
* Our clothes either colourful or white clean perfectly and rinse as well. No complaint so far from each home member.
* Not at all wear-out of our clothes.
* It is very quiet machine compare to our previous one. And thinking why we did not have before this machine.
* there are few favourite features like very quiet, gentle washing, facility of several washing mode which covers my whole family requirement.
* We are very happy and enjoying with the benefits of their features. Thanks Fisher & Paykel for such model.

Brilliant, but could be better
This washing machine is fantastic at washing clothes, I bought this to replace an LG machine that was not that old but was just terrible at cleaning clothes. Only a couple of suggestions for improvement - it really needs a lint filter you can clean out yourself after each wash. We have cats and the system this machine uses is just not quite good enough to get all of this out of the wash. Secondly, the bowl cleaning cycle uses hot water only so fogs up the control panel - I have already had it fail once but had it replaced without a fuss by Fisher & Paykel. Good service so can't complain. Apart from these things, this is a great machine and I love it!

Absolutely Brilliant
Coming from a Front Loader back to a Top Loader
Cleans and rinses brilliantly
I have found my whites are whiter
Very quiet operation
Best features are the length of cycles, the amount of different options and the ability to wash in only cold water without alarming
Great for towels, sheets etc and those large loads which means less loads

Shocking Machine
So unhappy with expensive machine it leaves scum marks on the clothes uses a ton of water I do the bowl wash thing they say to do takes 3 hours plus all the hot water and then you have to physically clean it out other wise the scam does not leave the machine so disappointed

Good but prefer my old F&P model
Cleans well. Less lint that old F&P it replaced. Quiet. Runs water for about 5 sec, then the other side runs the tub water with the soap in it over the clothes which is good, but doesn't give me a chance to rinse the cap from soap bottle or powder off my fingers straight into tub so I waste water at the sink tap doing that. Can't see/read the different wash labels for low water, high water etc as they don't stand out being white writing on a grey panel. Have to lean over the washing machine to see. Tried several times but can't change my sett...Read more
ings permanently to cold only wash as a permanent choice. It seems to be you can only change a couple of them. No favourite setting from what I can determine. After using for over a month, I prefer my old F&P. Wish I hadn't bought this but was rushed in 30 min to make a decision before shop closed and washer had broken down.Similar opinion? First impressions excellent, quiet and versatile
Only just purchased recently and have put various loads through the machine. Previously owned a simpson elite 8kg that lasted 13 years (great machine but very noisy). Wanted a machine that had full sized agitator and at least 9.5kg capacity to handle big loads and things like king size doona,s etc. Efficiency and economics part of consideration but quality of washer, ease of use, full range of wash cycles and ability to over ride and manually adjust were primary considerations. Can also lift the lid and add garments etc unlike front loader. Bel...Read more
ieve top loader with agitator washes better than front loader and will last years longer. The cothes are coming out clean and no lint. Have no space restrictions either so large machine no problem. I have read all sorts of reviews about not able to lift the lid during wash (its simple to do and doesnt restart from the beginning as i read somehwere) and lint? So far so good, the machine operates perfectly (getting it level helps) and its quietness of operation was something not expected - during wash its 50 db and at max spin (1100 rpm) its 64db and you have to listen carefully to hear it operate (except for water valve noise when filling and rinsing but thats normal) so it is impressively quiet! we were a bit worried about fisher and paykel from past experience through family members who had multiple electronic board failures but function and form this machine certainly appears to be very good. It is very easy to operate and you have lots of manual control, lots of wash cycles, adjustments and spin options etc. or just let it run auto. Update: 16th july 2016 Been using the machine 3 months - cannot fault it. Does everthing that it should do very well. Smooth, quiet and efficient. Have seen some one complain about lint. We wash towels, doonas, bed sheets, cottons and synthetics and have not seen any hint of lint at all. Garments come out perfect. We do not mix whites with coloured garments or towels and have absolutely no problems at all. Would definetly recommend this machine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Performing Well
Purchased this machine in January 2016 (replacing an old Simpson) and it has run one or two loads nearly every day. This 10kg machine is terrific for towels and large loads, with a terrific spin cycle, which has allowed the towels and clothing to airdry on outside line quicker. I have used most functions including delayed start and soak. I have used most wash functions but not yet the functions for sports, allergy or bulky. I've used the easy iron function once, and was surprised with how good a result I got from this. I have used water temp...Read more
from cold to warm/hot. There has been no problems with electronics, agitator or lint on clothing. Only thing I don't like is the design of the fabric softener dispenser cup which needs to be removed to pour detergent down the agitator stem. Not sure that this design would suit someone who may not have strength and mobility in their wrist/hand, as to remove can be a bit stiff. For me it is a minor thing that I have not gotten concerned about. Overall I am very pleased with the machine's performance.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Worst Washing Machine ever bought!!
I am so disappointed that I have so much lint left over after each wash.
My old LG Front Load Steam Washer & Dryer 8kg/4kg (WD-1457RD) started to malfunction, and warranty just expired (not the 10 year drum warranty).
I was told by Fisher & Paykel Customer Service Representative in 2014 that their Top Load Fabric Smart 10kg (WA1068P1) is their flagship washing machine. So I purchased it, as Fisher & Paykel was a good and trusted brand.
For 6 months I experimented when washing my clothes:
* I used different laundry detergents (powder a...Read more

My machine fills up, very slowly because we have low water pressure. I open the lid and watch the level of water covering the clothes. Then the lid locks, it does some kind of surge sound, and when I can open up the lid again it seems to have emptied itself and the detergent and then it starts again. After 10-12 minutes into the cycle, it then starts washing. It doesn't matter if I choose auto fill or not, or Eco wash? Also it is very noisy clonking sound as it is detecting the water level.
