WashSmart WA55T56GW1 (5.5kg)

Hi there, I have a F&P 5.5Kg WA55t56GW1 washer which is a few years old and hasn't given us any problems at all. Just now, it has started beeping every 45 seconds without fail. I have unplugged the power lead from the wall but the sound continued. Could anyone assist with the reason for this please?
Thanks,
Glenn

I have the bigger model, but I assume that you will need to call a service person out. Possibly either the electronic program board needs replacing, or once I had a blockage at the rear with the pipe clogged and it possibly did something similar???

Hi Sam, I'm sorry I don't have an answer but our machine just did a similar thing. I washed a load the next day I went to wash another load and there is absolutely nothing going on at all. I push start and there are no lights at all. It seems that it's died. Any luck or answers with yours? Chris

The agitator on my washing machine has split (cracked) on the three lower wings/fins (am not sure how else to describe the problem). I need to replace the agitator, can you please advise what part I need to order as it appears that this machine model has been discontinued. The washing machine model is WA55T56GW1 and the washing machine product number is 92160-A AA. Your advice appreciated.

Hi Deo,
Try turning it off at the power point and turning it back on again.
Check all hose connections, has the basepacker been removed and is the machine correctly levelled?
I'm not sure if your washing machine is brand new, if yes set up your installation test cycle by
1. Touch POWER
2. Touch both the KEYLOCK and OPTIONS buttons at the same time and hold for 2 seconds.
3. Touch START/PAUSE to start installation test cycle. Any faults will be displayed on the screen and if its all good it will automatically switch itself off after the test cycle.
I hope this helps?? : )

Try doing a half size load and see if it will complete. If it still leaks, better call support line! There is something in the washing machine book about water leaking, under troubleshooting I think if I remember correctly!

I've got a 3year old 5.5kg top load Fisher & Paykel and it's leaking water onto the floor. It started after I washed a bath mat and because it's quite heavy when wet it unbalanced my machine, i just moved it around to get it going again but now it's leaking water. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Make sure firstly, you turn the tap off after using it. My guess is,it is a solinoid and until that is repaired it will continue to leak. Look online for Fisher and Paykel repairers in your state.

The washer is doing the correct cycle but the clothes have begun to still feel wet at the end of the cycle, and are taking much longer to dry, especially the cotton rich fabrics. Could the spinner be wearing out or is some object maybe caught in the machine that is causing this? Thanks.

Your washer to me sounds like it might need to be checked by an expert. Fisher and Paykel have phone numbers on their web site. You don't say how old the machine is so I'm not sure whether your washer is under warranty. I use the 1000rpm on sheets and towels and cotton fabrics on 700rpm. The other cycles I use accordingly. I dont find the fabrics overly wet and I'm able to dry either outside or inside on airers? My washer is an 8kg and I have only had it 6 weeks. I do hope this has been helpful.

GDay Wendy, our machine has the same symptoms. I've checked for blockages in the hoses and, for other reasons, replaced the pump without any change to the dryness after the final spin. Have you had any success in solving the issue? Your advice would be appreciated, Peter

Hi,
My F& P top loader washer is constantly trying to drain. If it is turned on at the wall but all the lights are off on the panel it makes a constant noise as if it is trying to drain. If you then turn it on and select a wash cycle it will fill and drain at the same time. After the first stage of the wash cycle if finished it will make a an upward beeping sound every 5 seconds. You can move it on to the next stage by pressing the next arrow button but machine will still not fill up as the water will drain out at the same rate as it goes in. The pipe the water goes out of is at a proper height and this has only started happening recently after previously working fine for a few months. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a 5kg machine that has suddenly after 3 years started to have what looks like slime on our sheets. It is not the same as the detergent marks other people report. When the agitator is removed I can see water pooled in the bottom. I have tried running with vinegar and bleach, when i could see it all floating in the water, to no avail. The machine was stored for 3 months earlier in the year. Any ideas what to do?

I've recently had my F&P washing machine repaired after the same problem. The repairer said that the best way to keep any machine (of any brand) clean is to run a regular wash cycle using a hot water and dishwashing powder. He didn't say how much dishwashing powder to use but recommended against using too much in case there is too much suds which cannot be completely rinsed as this will add to the problem. Don't put any clothes in the wash during this cycle and no need to let it soak, just let the cycle complete itself in the usual way. Hope that helps.

Slime you say / that sounds like the gearbox / this is an expensive problem to fix though paying a fisher and paykel repair person compared to buying a new one would be alright / you can contact the shop where you bought it from or call the fisher and paykel washing machines department

brian
brian

Oh sorry I thought you meant water at the bottom of the washing machine not the bowl / sorry my mistake
