Piece of crap

published

Suspension rods inadequate for the size of the machine, replaced by FnP once at 2yrs old. Now 5yr and same issue. No help from FnP just want more money to keep repairing. previously owned a 7.5kg FnP and it is still going strong washing loads twice the size our 8kg can handle without any issues. FnP stated it was out of warranty and tough crap. Never buying another and will continue to tell others about there poor product and customer service.
Shame you cant give zero stars

Good but the lint

published

We usually wash anything in this machine from the kids dirty clothes to towels, small doonas, heavy blankets. Clothes come out clean but it could be better. The lint is the main problem, it gets on everything. We bought this washer after reading the reviews here and though the lint issue was mentioned we went ahead and bought it. It has been reliable. I love the delay wash function.

Extremely disappointed

published

This was the biggest waste of money ever. I purchased a new Aquasmart top loader washing machine and an Aerosense dryer when I moved interstate. As I live alone the washer doesn’t get the use it would servicing a large family. It worked OK for about 6 months then everything came out covered in lint. I've completed the clean cycle and also used Scalex to try to rectify the problem. The machine has no lint filter - great work engineers! This appliance is relatively new but now I have to replace it as it simply does not work. I now do my washing at a laundromat. The dryer has made a scraping noise since new. I will NEVER purchase anything again from Fisher and Paykel, absolute garbage and customer service is non existent.

Awesome just love it!!!

published

I love this washing machine!!! I have it for years now and it has never disappointed me. It is quiet and has many washing options. I use the heavy duty for my husbands work cloths. Being a Landscaper his cloths are always muddy but this machine can clean them. Also it was one of the cheapest washing machine when i bought it.

Perfect reliable and quieter machine...

published

What a machine it is! Reliable and much quieter than my previous Samsung front loader... After four years, it is still going on without a hiccup (touch wood)...

Quality of wash is ok. It generates lots of lints. So get the lint filter. But yes after that it is superb in cleaning.

The best thing about this machine is the quick and eco programs. If your cloths are not soiled heavily, this features works as a dream.

In general, very efficient machine with simple yet practical operating programs

Recommended by an appliance handyman

published

This product was recommended after a sad experience with a front loader. Although it uses a lot of water it will go for many many years and needs little maintenance. Fits plenty of clothes and doesn't cause harm to materials as there are plenty of settings to choose from. The price is good and it is easy to install.

Good

published

Cleans well combined with good laundry powder. Can adjust water amount and temperature and type of wash i.e. heavy duty. Takes about 40minutes to wash a full load and shorter if you select the quick wash setting. Only downfall is that sometimes you will have to adjust the clothes if they bundle up and beeps when spinning. It would also be good if it had a lint filter.

Still going strong

Hi SusieG
I had the same thing happen to my machine & I spoke with F&P and they sent me a new agitator at no cost. I am currently booking it in for a service as I think a regular maintenance is a must - no different to my car!
Cheers fam

Nice machine, but Agitator fins all broken -no lint filter on purchase

published

The first fin broke off the agitator after 2 years and now the other 2 fins have snapped off.
It has been a good machine and I like the different wash options. But the integrity/quality of the agitator plastic and fins is a big manufacturing issue. And I think F&P should include the lint filter in every new machine. I don't know any other company that doesn't include this accessory.

Great Machine

published

Got this on special at the good guys and have not regretted it. While the washing machine is not a very exciting buy this thing has sure performed. Love the delayed start and it's wash cycle doesn't take forever like some other machines and the rinse and spin both work well although the spin can be a little loud. Highly recommend.

A good washing machine.

published

A good machine. Have used it constantly & found it excellent to use. We purchased our washing machine in Feb 2012. In March 2017 we thought the water pump had died. When my handy husband tested the pump it was fine. So he pulled the drum out & discovered their was a lint filter. When he cleared it & clean many parts it now works well. We have purchased a lint filter ($44) that is easy to install, it goes in under the detergent dispenser.

Not Happy

published

This machine makes my sheets dirty, even after running the cleaning cycle - there is no way to clean out a lint filter, it is all electronic. After putting up with that for almost 6 years the machine just died. Of course that was a few months after the extended warranty ran out! The technician says that it is probably the fuse, but it is built in to the controller, so that is $250 or thereabouts, and then you might still have to replace other components. He suggested replacing the machine. So this company doesn't seem to be very eco friendly despite their apparent water saving features.

Electronics failed again

published

Washes well but I have now had 2 F&Ps that have each failed within 4 years of use due to electronics problems. This makes them almost a disposable item. Never again F&P. Makes the extended warranty a mandatory requirement if you want any security but this of course comes at a cost.

Never ever again!

published

I have had this machine for quite a while and it has never washed properly. It leaves lint on everything, has torn a couple of towels and does not clean the clothes. I have contacted the company twice and have been given an extra lint filter and they also sent out a maintenance person to have a look. Neither helped. I have tried every cycle, every different laundry powder and liquid. Nothing helps. I am over this machine and having to rewash half my washing all the time. I bought it at Harvey Norman and had purchased product care with it. I am currently in the process of making a claim. If it cannot be fixed I want it replaced. Terrible, terrible machine. Very glad it is discontinued. A complete lemon!

Noticing Lint on my clothing after wash, No filter to clean????

published

Hi,

I have had the washing machine for 2 years and is still under extended warranty. I haven't had any issues as yet besides the hot water hose springing a leak and got that replaced.

I have been noticing that my wash has lint on it especially the dark clothing after I hang them out to dry.

My question is - Is there a filter that I have to clean or can you offer me a solution to fix this problem?

Thanks
