Our F&P washing machine (WA8560G1) is now doing the same thing - now stops due to "out of balance" numerous times each load - I suspect the suspension rods may need replacing. Machine is not that old (out of warranty) and I would have thought the suspension rods should have lasted a little longer. With time off due to the current health crisis, I have some time to investigate and replace if necessary - replacement seems straight forward once new suspension rods are purchased.

My washmart 8.5kg top loader model WA8560G1 has stopped working. I can't even power it up. It happened when I turned off all power to put some lights in. Would it be something to do with the key lock? Marty

After hand washing a garment is the machine able to just spin it?

Although the user manual for this machine does not specifically provide instructions on this you should be able to spin only by advancing the wash cycle using the wash stage buttons. See page 12 of the user manual under the heading "To advance the wash cycle".
https://www.fisherpaykel.com/vault/pdfs/pdf_usecares/5999_NZ_QuickSmart_WashSmart_UG%20LR.pdf

I now have hardly any hand-wash only clothes or items any more as I just can't be bothered with lots of hand washing but usually if something needs hand-washing I do it while the machine is going through the wash cycle but I pause the cycle before it starts to spin and then just add the hand-washed item/s to the spin cycle - see page 15 in the manual for how to set the machine to automatically stop before going into the spin cycle.

Does anyone else find the WA8560g1 bowl so much smaller than previous models? I am disabled so could not go to the store and ordered online another 8kg washing machine like my last F & P as my old one took doonas and blankets the sales man told me this new washing machine would to. I got home and found it half the size of my old washer and there is no way I will fit a doona or even two queen sheets in it. I have read the instruction manual and its says for one wash 8 handkerchiefs how can a 10 year old machine of 8kg capacity be so different to the 8.5kg machine. I rang f & p and they told me they have heard this complaint before but no solution. wasted my $760. Will have to buy another machine now which I can not afford on a pension as I am not handwashing doonas even if I was able physically.

Hi,
My WashSmart 8.5 top loader is not turning on.
It started when I decided to clean my washer. Turn off the machine, unscrew the agitator and clean the surface carefully. When finished, I switch on the power point and turn on the machine the usual way and did not turn on.
I followed the User guide for this problem but it is not working as well. Please any help? Thank you

Hi, there's no rhyme or reason why it should have stopped working but no sign of life is usually not a good thing. Try removing the plug and re-inserting or try another power point if possible. Other than that it will be a job for a service person

If water level set to automatic, try changing to med or high.

I must say when I resided in Victoria my washing always had a smell to it, but since moving inter state I have had nothing but awesome freshness. So I know it was the actual water supply that was an issue. could you have that problem??? I also regulate my own water level, and choose a setting that covers the wash. The machine will tend to economise on water level. But having a central agitator I get a great clean wash. So I hope your machine is ok. I would ring the company and ask a service person to check it out if it is under warranty. You may have a clogged hose and be getting back wash back in the machine.

How can I clean my top loader without using hot water as I only have cold water outlet in laundry? thank you

1 answer
Sharkieboy

Do a cold wash using a good dose of White Vinegar, about 200ml. Then each and every wash put the white vinegar in the softener dispenser it will be mixed with the water in the rinse cycle. This will keep you machine and pipes clean and also gets rid of any soap residue that is left after the wash. Coles or Woolies brand white vinegar $1.20 2lts.
