Ive read that the Ford Fiesta WT (2010-2013) has no temp gauge.. how do you know if car is overheating? Does it come up on the display ot dash light?
Also due to no spare wheel, can i confirm that a tyre mobility kit is supplied with the car as standard and where is it located? Thanks

Hi Kevin. I have a Ford Fiest LX which has a temperature gauge. Again for the LX, it came with a jack, wheel nut spanner and a biscuit wheel. Hope you will find this information useful.
Depending on model/option you either have a repair kit and pump or a spare wheel. If it is missing, it has been taken out of the vehicle.
Why do you want a temp gauge? Other than the overheating light that emits on the speedo, warning of danger, most standard temp gauges have limited range and use. They are quite inaccurate and usually move little when the temperature rises or falls 20 - 45 degC (example: pajero won't move from the centre marking from 56 degC to 105 degC). The cooling system on this car (Radiator) is huge, compared to other 1.6 litre vehicles (double the size of Honda).
I have a 2006 that constantly overheats due to thermo fan not kicking in, due to major electrical fault. My guage is spot on and it lets me know exactly when the car is overheating, has saved me from a lot of major problems.

Hi,
I have a 2005 Ford Fiesta 5 door hatch and i would like to know the recommended time that the timing belt should be changed?
Thank you,
Jeanette

I have a 2009 1.4 auto, which I bought only recently. The owner's handbook suggested 150,000km or 8 years. My car was under the 150k but well over the 8 years, so I booked it in to have the timing belt done. Unfortunately my car is running poorly after the change, and there was a long delay for new bolts for the cam sprocket bolts which are single-use only and didn't come with the belt kit. To make the process quicker and cheaper, don't change the camshaft seals unless the mechanic says they are leaking.

Have 2009 manual Fiesta with about 115,000 kms and gear box is leaking oil. Anyone else have experience with this?
1 answer
Is it the gearbox, or the driveshaft seal? I have had a car leak from the main rear engine seal, which in a rear wheel drive car appears to come from between the engine and gearbox.

Hey, does this car fit 3 car seats in the back ?

I would say no. I don't have kids but have looked after friends kids and I would say you would get two in but would struggle to get a third in.

Hi I'm looking at a 2012 ford fiesta CL manual hatch tomorrow I'd like your honest reviews of this model?

Check if it's easy to engage into reverse, whether the rev was stable at neutral and sign of water leak. Good car for city.
I drove it today and it was fantastic, sturdy on the road, easy to change gears, no shuttering, clutch didnt slip and fun to dip around in. My dad is a mechanic found no problems and gave it the thumbs up to buy
Have had a manual from new Dec 2012 now 80000k best small car have ever had,do all my own servicing, fixed price is a rip off @ $280 for a 1.3 hr service, they say most manufacturers make more from servicing than selling.Am already $1400 in front. No probs of any kind, bought a new spare wheel, needed it within 2 months one Fri 5pm.A 1.6 is the best bet discontinued in 2013,always choose manual in small cars.

2005 ford festiva sedan, im having problems with speedo, going off and on is that common in these cars?
2 answers
never have speedo problem.
Try replacing the speedo sensor unit. This seems to be a common fault with Fiestas and Festivas. Engine cutting out, but restarting immediately with key, also seems to occur often with this speedo sensor fault. Plenty of info on Google about this problem. Ford genuine part is $200+ plus fitting. An e-Bay guy in Melbourne is selling them for $12.20 incl free shipping ! Worth a try, before committing to an expensive Ford Dealer appraisal. The unit sits on the gearbox, and can be fitted without having to lift the car up.

2007 LX 5 door hatchback Ford Fiesta.
In the process of looking at getting a second hand car- different makes.
How much is it to service a ford fiesta in general?
The cost to change a timing belt approx?
And when it comes to mileage - about how much can one car clock, if serviced and well looked after, before the engine dies and/or needs to be replaced. (Unless traded or sold of course).
Toyota Corollas can go into the 300s for mileage and possibly beyond.

Sorry cannot be much help. Due to hear box problem sold our Fiesta with about 25k on clock. Servicing was about 250 each year. Apart from gearbox car was good.
Found a few more tips on this site http://www.what2drive.com.au/blog/ford-fiesta-2006-08
1. Make sure to check the radio as it seems to break easily
2. Check the boot lock and power windows
Grant, was your Fiesta an auto or a manual?
Billiamiscoolasked
Hey guys, so I've heard lots of horror stories about the Fiesta's and Focus' gearboxes, but I was wondering if the manual was plagued with the same issues? Specifically I'm talking about the ST, it's a really nice car that I'm very tempted by, but if it's got a whole lot of extra costs involved then I won't go for it.

Evening!
As far as I know it is only the Auto of each type that had the problem, I have not heard of any problems with the manuals as they do not have dual clutches.
I believe the Fiesta/Focus issues are related to the "Power Shift" DCG gearboxes. This doesn't apply to the Australian Market 6 speed. There are a few reports for the US domestic market Fiesta ST suffering from clutch issues but US cars are made in Mexico and the Australian Market ST comes from Germany.

I have had my 2013 WT manual for over 3 years and had no issues.
Have had our 2010 WS Zetec manual for 6 years, with 60,000km on the clock and never had a problem :)

can the fan belt for ford fiesta 2005 be adjusted if yes how?
1 answer
You do not mention which engine you have. The 1.6 and 2.0 litre appear to run different arrangements.
I've not played with my fan belt yet (2.0 litre) but according to the factory service manual (can be found free online with a bit of searching) the 1.6 does not have a tensioner. The belts come with a special tool which allows the belt to be stretched onto the pulleys. Sounds like fun.
The 2 litre engine uses a tensioner and can apparently be adjusted in the normal way. Their diagram shows the tensioner sitting below the alternator. I just went and had a look at mine and although I can see the tensioner, I have no idea how you'd get to it easily. All the pulleys at the front of the engine are very close to the chassis rail. I'm sure there's a way but it'd have to involve taking off some plastic guards and getting at it from under the car.

Looking at buying a 2009 Ford Fiesta LX hatch. can anyone give me any reasons not to? Thanks.
1 answer
I can see no reason why not. Be careful if it's an Auto. They have a bad reputation and also that model maybe a 1.4 in the Auto. Not sure. The manuals are 1.6 (petrol) and are usually trouble free. Mine is a 2013 WT manual and they come out of Thailand but the build quality is pretty good. If you go into this site a bit deeper and check out 2009 to 2013 Fiestas, you may get a bit more info.

Hi Everyone!
I would like to know what's the best fuel for Ford Fiesta?
1 answer
Not knowing what model it is, i'll take a guess. I have a 2013 CL manual and it runs very well on E10 95 without using much more on premium 95. I average between 6.4 and 7.8 city cycle. I have achieved 5.4 on a long trip. They are optimised to run on 95 but 91 won't hurt them.

I have a Ford Fiesta Zetec Manual 2012I have no worries with the engine shattering or any of motor issues. I have a blinker that wont work. It is connected to the power window. (drivers side) The left indicator works fine and the window goes all the way down the bottom. Not the right hand side.Does anyone else have this issue?
2 answers
Hi,
I haven't had any problems with the indicators (yet) the speakers on the right hand side, however, have started to crackle and sound terrible.
The manual won't shudder as it has a different gear box to the auto
Never had a prob with ours, could be a simple issue, take it to an auto sparky :)

Hi everyone, I'm buying car but can't decide between Ford Fiesta and Mazda 2. I have 1 child but I only want a small car.
3 answers
Hi Alleyys,
We don't have any children, so can't really have a direct opinion on that part of the question.
However, we have had a Ford Fiesta for 18 months and have been very pleased with it, hard to fault.
Surprisingly good head room...
Maybe the next size up from fiesta if extra luggage/space required??
Please don't buy a Ford Fiesta! Buy a Mazda 2. Biggest regret I have is buying the Ford over a Mazda :( :( Seriously angry at myself for it!
The Fiesta manual hatch is bigger than the Mazda 2 and has more power with very little difference in fuel consumption. It is cheaper to service and has longer service intervals. The only real drawback is it has a timing belt instead of a chain but replacement intervals are 150,000klms or 10 years. I refer to a manual because there are too many bad reports about autos. The Mazda 2 and the Fiesta both come out of Thailand.

Not sure what what you mean, can you clarify the question please. Is your Fiesta 2004-2005 model?
Not sure, but maybe worth getting an Auto elect to have a look & perhaps install a second hand one from an Auto recycler!
Can't help. I had an ECU update with first service of 2010 WS but no problems before or after.
WZ turbo due for 12 month service next month.

Hi, just wondering if $10 000 is a good price for a second hand Ford Fiesta ws Zyrtec, has 43 000 km in it? Thankyou, before I buy.
2 answers
That is an excellent price for a WS Zetec. Even better price if it's an auto. Just make sure the car has full document service history since to be honest it seems a tad cheap for a car with such low kilometers. Also do a REVS check to see if the car has any finance owing on it. http://www.revscheck.com.au/?gclid=CKOu-efK3sUCFdgkvQodwD4AHA
Sounds good. 43k in 5 years is light going. Not so keen on the auto trans used in Fiesta/Focus. See other reviews for this! Zetec is mechanically the same as the standard model, with a few useful/stylish additions. Remember to avoid potholes. Those 16" mags are fragile.
