This car gets better as it gets older!
I must confess, I wasn't really happy with this car first off. I heard so many good reviews about it and as a result didn't think of taking for a test drive. Anyway took a while to get used to and now I love it. Beware... I had issues with power steering pump. This is a common fault. Get it checked out before your warranty runs out. You'll hear it, it's just like a whining at low speeds. You don't have to be turning the steering neither. Petrol consumption wise, I am now averaging 7.4 per 100kms. I am currently on 39000kms. Like I said this car gets better as it gets older.
A good looking practical car.
Noisy power steering pump. Ford tech guys not used to european car and a bit clueless I think.

Love love love my Mondeo!
I spent over 12 months considering what car I wanted for my new car back in 2008. I didn't want something 'common', wanted something with good pick up and go and wanted all the features without paying a fortune!
In 2009 I purchased a 12 month old 2008 Ford Mondeo Zetec under a lease arrangement through salary packaging. I love love loved it! My 3 year lease just expired a couple of months ago and I was hesitant to get rid of it. I ended up trading in for a new 2013 Mondeo Zetec which has all the features of my old car plus more!
The abso...Read more
lute best thing about the Mondeo hatch is the massive boot! You could seriously sleep in the boot with a double bed! Even through a hatch it looks like a sedan (I wouldn't even consider buying a sedan version). I have moved many items and when I turn up people look at me 'like seriously?' until I open the boot and voila! Everyone is wowed by the size! It is a great mid size car. It has front sensors, rear sensors, seat sensors, auto lights, auto wipers, multiple airbags from all directions, electric height adjust drivers seat, driver passenger lumbar support, a good sound system, great space in the back seat, fantastic fuel economy, power boost, good pickup and go, quiet, dual zone air-con, fog lights, cruise control, Bluetooth, USB input, power outlet for the back seat (I don't have kids but I think this would be great so they can charge their games, iPod etc)... The only one thing that I don't like is the turn knobs to raise and lower the back rest of the front seats. A pain when you are in the passenger seat on a long drive and want to lay back for a rest. oh and the brake dust which means your tires keep getting dirty. But in the scheme of things that is a pretty minor thing to not like! I don't understand why Ford don't market it more as I never see it advertised. Everything! MASSIVE boot, great fuel economy with good pick up and go, all the features - auto lights, auto wipers, elec windows, lumbar adjust, good sound system, rear sensors, front sensors. Not every second car on the road is one. Brake dust1 comment

Awesome Car
What an absolute joy to drive. Luxurious and well appointed. Unbelievable fuel economy from the powerful diesel engine. Get over 1000klm per tank. The features are astounding and what you would expect in a car costing three times as much. A beautiful looking car with great proportions that often solicits positive comments from passers by.
Adaptive cruise control and keyless start
Build quality a little below par

Great family car
We bought this car as we wanted to upgrade, it is a really smooth ride both my kids love it they tend to fall asleep on longer journeys. Lots of leg room in the back seats so your young ones don't feel too enclosed with front seats being so close to their legs.
Rear seats are wide enough for 3 car seats across, lots of boot space and has a blind to cover it, good lighting inside the car, energy efficient
Left hand side indicators and right hand side wipers take a bit of getting used to

Ecoboost Zetec? As Molly used to say, do yourself a favour...
What can I say? I had to think about the Cons whereas I had to restrict myself with the Pros! This car is soooo nice to drive in all but lengthy stop/start traffic. The dual clutch manual is otherwise a gem, so smooth between the gears - almost imperceptible. The turbo provides linear power delivery and over the last two months in what are generally short 5 - 10 minute suburban trips has achieved a very respectable 9L/100km average fuel use (our 2001 Magna V6, which had less power & same torque) used to get 12-13L/100 kms in same conditions). andling is flat & confident. Brakes are extremely effective. Interior space is virtually Falcodore like and the boot is huge/flat/very usable. Zetec gets auto wipers, auto headlights, voice control radio/CD(single disc)/mobile phone B'tooth (steering wheel vol/tune controls), front/rear parking sensors and cool dash display/read out, cruise, more airbags than I can count & climate control. I cannot understand why so many people buy Camrys when there is this car on the market. My Holden mate (owns 2010 Calais) that lives across the road from me has had a massive re-think on what he thought for his next car might be (I think the Mondeo Titanium might suit). Just make sure you test drive one when you next looking for your next car!!! Smooth power delivery in conjunction with Powershift dual clutch manual, economy, power, interior space, large boot, handling, style in & out. Mobile Bluetooth sounds like its under water (maybe needs a service?), indicator stalk on left, can be a little jerky from stop/start with Pwrshift (tiring to achieve smooth take off all the time), high-ish rear end (rear vision), bland front lower grille, weekly cleaning of wheels due to brake dust.1 comment
It's now June 2014 and we still love this car, originally reviewed 11/2012. Re the bluetooth, I think it ended up being the wife's mobile, not the car. Its so easy on long trips, and gets down into th... Read more

Brilliant family hatch
Picked up a TDCi hatch titanium. Brilliant little performer and great value for money! Only gripe from partner is lack of reversing camera, but for me the sensors are fine. Sat nav would be nice too but an easy fix. Considering all the other features you get those minor shortcomings are soon forgotten. The keyless entry plus start is infinitely handy as is the massive boot!
Boot, features, economy, styling
Lack of sat nav

I Loved This Car
I loved this car so much I almost cried when I had to give it up to getting a bigger family car! It is strong, I always felt that if I was in an accident this car would protect me. It reminded me very much of the old Madza 929's (remember them?). Anyway, the steering is wonderful, features outstanding. The stereo is awesome. Given the bluetooth capabilities I used my phone a lot more than in any other car so far and I loved that you have voice activation. But when you have chatty passengers the voice activation can become somewhat of a safety i...Read more
ssue! Given the features of this car the price is very reasonable, and I found the aftercare customer service from the dealership outstanding. I must have been contacted at least 9 times in the year and a half I owned the car just to see how things were going, car wise and service wise. The boot space in this car is massive compared to others, you can fit a pram (stroller) and shopping in their quite easily, but you need to bend quite a bit to reach the back. Likewise when trying to fit in a car seat I had to crawl into the boot to attach the hook (so people with bad backs may need to have car seats fitted for them). Reliable, strong, well worth the money.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Nice upgrade
Brought the 2010 model as a 2nd hand car with 6000km on the clock, filled the car up, and am still running on my first 50L.
Car is not as wide as my old 99 Holden CommonDoor, but has plenty of room in side - highly recommend for a family car if your cant afford a full sized car, or don't like the larger ones.
Nice Big boot and wonderfully designed dash board (if you dont want to use voice control)
Fuel, finishing, climate control
Takes a while to respond when you put you foot down

Ok car but trading happily now.
Loved the car to start with but felt like it dated quickly. I like Fords in fact I pick up a new Territory on Friday so I cannot knock the vehicles. My Mondeo has served me well. Great on fuel. Will never buy a car without leather again though. Water leaks in through the hatch in heavy rain and I have had a knocking in the exhaust that I have not been able to get sorted in 6 services.
Other than that great car with excellent styling, good performance and a benchmark in its class without doubt. Fords I find get better as you go up the range and I will always go top of range now.
Cheap motoring, lovely styling.
Rattles in chassis never solved.

It sounds as if you have a problem with your door seals, which is why water is leaking in.
