Great, Reliable and great safety features packed in a car.
Great economy, power and agility, love it .145,000 from 89000 hasht missed a beat.
2litre Diesel has some surprising grunt in it.
Airbags all round including rear seatbelt bags.
Been through several falcons but love this comfort and no brake wobble after time from overheating brakes.
A joy to drive, hate adding kms to it for work purposes.
Purchased in November 2021 at Action Auto Group for $16,000.00.

Great car. Fast, reliable, spacious, comfortable, great on fuel.
I got the car brand new. 4 years/75,00km later, all I can say is... what a great family car. It is very spacious, has great boot space, great acceleration even at highway speeds. No major issues of any kind.
Highlights:
- great diesel engine, fantastic gearbox, great acceleration
- excellent fuel economy (6.9 litters)
- feels solid, performs really well through a band/great cornering
- quiet for a diesel car, especially at highway speeds, pure joy to cruise at 110-120km/h
- comfortable, especially the front seats
- heaps of space in the boot

Started out as great vehicle, but now...
I purchased this car in February 2018. It had 22,000KM on it, and was 14 months old. When I purchased it everything was tight, no noises, no squeals, no complaints! Fast forward 14 months and it's now 2.5 years old and at 93,000, and I hate it.
Pros
- Pretty fuel efficient - Diesel
- Decent enough Sound system
- Selectable Driving modes
- Great LED headlights
- Autonomous braking works well
- Radar is good for long drives ...Read more
- Fairly Quiet most times - Loads of Features - Cool Ambient lighting - Electric Tailgate - When working - Rear Privacy Windows - Auto Dimming mirror - Electric Steering Column with memory Cons - AC not cold - Unreliable - Expensive parts - Rubbish After sale Service - Quality Control Issues - Rattles - Not good for stop start traffic - Can sometimes be very laggy when taking off. - Becomes very slow, and unresponsive about 2000KMs before it's service - Ridiculously expensive service $425 for first 2 services, then $895 for 3rd..rinse repeat. - Proximity Keyless entry is a mixed bag of emotions. Works from time to time We have continuously had the bolts for the side skirt replaced (they keep coming lose, and Ford charges $27 per bolt!) It sends a horrible rattle up the driver side door if left untreated, the AC compressor seized, left the car with Ford, told it would be in the next day - didn't arrive until a week later. The automatic rear tailgate regularly stops working, and has come out of alignment, despite being under new car warranty still, Ford refuse to fix it, despite assuring me they would when I got my AC fixed, the driver's seat and passengers seat now rattle like crazy and want me to pay $905 per seat BASE ONLY (a common issue found on many forums, Ford Also won't fix), the drivers display dash takes a good 30 seconds or more to come on at times, regularly throws faults on the dash about the lights not working, or hand brake needing servicing, the GPS is hopeless at its job, there's a clicking coming from under the car that Ford "cannot replicate" but yet 3 independent mechanics could, the auto highbeams are the most infuriating thing I've ever dealt with! Unlike most cars with auto highbeams where you push the leaver forward and the highbeams turn on and off as needed automatically, Ford's is totally automatic from the moment you turn the car on. The AC tends not to be very cold and my biggest bug bear is that the stop start turns off at the lights to keep powering the AC, but the compressor doesn't kick back in until you start driving again so it doesn't cool. I could keep listing things wrong with this car all day, but I guess you get what you pay for! I've attached a badge to the back and sides as a way of silent protest! A slight update! From 2 stars down to one. Car is now at 99,500, I had the car in for a service with my independent mechanic where they brought up the fact that the transmission was leaking. Took it to Ford and sure enough it is leaking. They're fixing that issue tomorrow. They have also decided they're going to fix the drivers seat under warranty, so that is a little light at the end of the tunnel I wasn't expecting to see.

My Mondeo would have to be one of the nicest car's I have driven. It's very smooth powerful and quite loads of room for passengers and in the boot fantastic car to own.

Brilliant and so smooth and quiet.
Bought the Titanium MY 18.75 model last week and what a fantastic decision it was. This car is so nice to drive, smooth, quiet and powerful. What this car does not include should be on the list. Voice recognition is outstanding and seamlessly connects to my mobile phone within seconds of starting. Safety features are incredible. Can't wait to finish working out all the gadgets and how they function. Very under rated car and should definitely be pushed much harder by Ford. Love it.

Hidden gem of a car
My first Modeo wagon was back in 2010 and this is my third one(renew every 3 years) and the best so far. This car has excellent road handling, heaps of torque, all the bells & whistles you need in a car such as
-easy to use touch screen with no fuss sat nav
-alloy wheels
-driving lights
-huge cargo space
-usb ports
-great sound system
- parking sensors
The list goes on. I also occasionally drive my wife’s Audi and this car comes pretty close for comparison to drive.
I do approx 45,000 kms a year and have had no issues with any of my Mondeo’s.
If your looking to buy a wagon just take it for a drive, you wont be disappointed.

Great vehicle .. early Mondeo tarnished this one for no reason
We had a 2009 petrol Mondeo for 6 years and only problem was manifold swirl flap solinoids went faulty with a code coming up . Cost was $150 to replace. That also increased the performance of the engine too. Please of leg room in the back and a very generous hatch area.

Performance advantages
I think it's very good in terms of performance, and it's very quiet
I love the interiors, the only thing that's not enough is the internal space
Clutch joint point is very good grasp, but the various stalls are relatively smooth. Car steering power is just right, but there are auxiliary parking and other intelligent systems, parking in a bit effortless, security greatly improved.

Underrated car, such a pleasure to drive
One of the best cars I have driven.
The drive is firm and comfortable and has all the features you expect in a more expensive car.
The interior space is amazing and when you fold down the rear seats, the capacity is comparable to a mid size SUV.
I bought the car brand new and now after 1 year with 30,000 klms on the dial, it still feels great and i’m still excited to drive it every time i get in.
The retail price for the Titatium is quite pricey but i manage to get a great deal which makes it worth it.
The turbo Diesel engine is punchy and is smooth on highways and even around the city. Considering its a diesel, its relatively quiet inside.
I haven’t had any issues yet so can’t comment on those.

What a great car
We have for many years bought ford focus cars as they were very good but this year we decided to buy a Mondeo and we are truly very very happy with it .I love everything about it and it goes very well (petrol turbo not diesel turbo )
After driving it now for close on 6 months the only thing I don't like is the auto headlight dipping and I am sure that if I read up i will find a way to stop this making it in my eyes perfect

Transmission is faulty put in park and rolls forward, put in reverse and rolls forward
Not happy with ford vehicles in general because of problems I’ve had with 2015 kuga replacement motor replacement transmission which I had to pay for it and 40 didn’t want to know about it and didn’t answer my phone calls. Disappointed and forward seven forwards in the last 12 years and will never buy forwards again, what the hell, Ford are going downhill. Which I had to pay for and ford didn’t want to know about it and didn’t answer my phone calls.

Amazing
Well I can’t brag enough about my ford Mondeo sedan 2017. 6 months old and it is a dream to drive. The safety features is what I liked most initially. But since driving it and I only recently put it in sports suspension and sports mode that I was blow away. The adaptive cruise is also amazing. I have alwYs driven Camry. But I won’t go back.

Great driving car
Well after much consideration what to buy after my Ford territory I bought the Ford Mondeo titanium wagon. Hard to find to test drive but hunted and found one.
I was not disappointed. Beautiful to drive, comfortable and quiet. But best of all the diesel engine does not have that terrible hesitation on take off that the territory had.
It's lacking a row of seats and some ground clearance but I only used the 3rd row in the territory about 10 times.
Plenty of electronics if that's your thing.
Worth the money if your looking for a$50000 station wagon.
No issues. But the AC could be cooler in the hot temps.

Great family car
Excellent value for money. Fresh and attractive design for this category, more than enough room inside, perfect set of options for family use (driver seat memory really helps when people with significant difference in height both drive the car interchangeably, front parking sensors in addition to rear sensors and camera) plus lots of convenient helpers. After Toyota Camry feels like a prestige car.

Horribly underrated car
In the age of senseless SUV purchasing, the Mondeo is an absolute godsend in large family cars. A full size vehicle with every bit of equipment and safety features complete with a boot that puts 7 seater cargo holds to shame.
The 2.0L turbo diesel effortlessly gets around town in the 6-6.5l/100 and on any stretch of highway, will get around 5. There's enough guts to get the engine up and about when needed but otherwise just chugs along without issue.
The boot space in the wagon is phenomenal and with seats folded down you could have a pa...Read more
rty in the back if you wanted. Adaptive cruise is one of those features that's hard to forgo once you've have it, all of the safety features included are often high priced extras on other vehicles, automatic and electric everything and the seats are some of the most comfortable I've sat in. My only small gripe is the Ford Sync 2.0 software. Not having any compatibility with Apple CarPlay or Android is just unforgivable these days. Overall it's been the best car I've owned and for what probably just gets seen as a boring fleet car is actually a bloody good vehicle that's criminally underrated in a glut of generic SUV's.Similar opinion? The Mondeo is a great car to drive.
Driving the car is effortless, up to date with safety features, comfortable seating, modern looking. The Titanium has many many standard features including digital radio.
Too soon to really rate its reliability, only 3-4 months old, but no problems so far. Reasonable petrol usage for a car its size, averages 7-8 litres per 100 km.

ailable in overseas markets e.g. rear cross traffic warning, a major exclusion in this car for some reason. Ventilated seats instead of heated only. Massage seat (drivers seat) not even an option at time of purchase. Speed sign recognition not available. Lane keeping assistance is unreliable, more often greyed out than useable. Does not function at all (including smart cruise control) in heavy rain. Fuel economy is very much up to the individual. Using cruise control whenever possible contributes a lot to lower fuel consumption. Drive the Mondeo more spiritedly and you will pay the price. My best was 6.7 litres, very careful driving. Average is around 8.5 litres. It is a big car after all, just an inch or so shorter than the Falcon. Overall, I can't fault the car mechanically or otherwise.1 comment

Great car but some quality issues
My September delivered 2016 Mondeo MD Ambiente Wagon. Love the diesel very quite and fuel efficient. Sync 3 has had some issues the volume sometimes goes up and down on its own and you have to turn the car off to reset. The A/C when stopped in traffic( with auto stop disabled) starts to blow warm air. The steering wheel started to peel a couple of days ago after it bubbled in the recent Sydney heat wave. The car is 4 months old with 10k on it. Hopefully ford Australia come to the party for the steering wheel. Never mind the 7 months wait for i...Read more
t! I have done 55,000kms know and mechanically the car is faultless. My steering wheel was replaced but the new one has just bubbled a few weeks ago on a hot day in Sydney. The interior drivers door panel has worn away where I rest my arm while driving. My FG Falcon G6ET that has 117,000kms has no wear on either. Good car, the interior isn't the toughest and I'm not rough on cars. Truthfully I will be moving it on in 20,000kms and I will be getting a VW Passat wagon due to the issues I have found on the Mondeo.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Easy to drive and enjoy driving again
Mondeo titanium 2015 was a step up from my previous vehicle and I'm glad so far of the selection - diesel engine is awesomely efficient. For a diesel it's quiet enough and doesn't sound like a truck.
Features of the vehicle are well appointed for the price, would have liked the Sync 3 however Sync 2 does the job well.
Some people say the functions and the settings of the vehicle are complicated and a pain, they aren't at all... just work through it like a new smart phone - the vehicle has the ability for the user to change the Ambience ...Read more
lighting in the car with a selection of colours... Yet to take it on a long drive, but I already know it's going to be a comphy drive with those seats! If you're going to put some klm on the car, I'd go the diesel - sure maintenance is a bit more but a petrol engine would only do half the amount of klmsSimilar opinion? My Second Mondeo Diesel.
There is previous Mondeo MC and a MD Wagon review by me on this site elsewhere.
My previous Mondeo MC Zetec Diesel Wagon was very reliable and I only sold it as it was time for a new one.
I chose a July 2016 build Trend Diesel Hatch over the Wagon as I thought it would be slightly quieter over bumps as the wagon has a firmer suspension and firmer tyres based on the load carrying duty.
I try not to repeat what other had previous reported as I concur. I have done 600 km so far, and I conclude that the MC and MD are different designs, someth...Read more

I have MD Titanium Petrol Hatchback and for the 2nd time, driver seat memory settings do not work, so seat and column stuck in default position. Lumbar settings still working. I thought Id look at fuse 2 in the passenger compartment fuse panel, but this seems good esp. as panoramic sunshade also working. Ford did not advise which fuse had blown first time. Any ideas?

hi all, have a 2017 mondeo trend, and the red light heads up display stopped working, took it to my local ford dealer, that put it on the scanner and no faults appeared ( car still under factory warranty ), i received a call from the mechanic and he informed me that it looked like one of the sensors in the front bumper had been hit and needed adjustment, which was done ... i have no recollection of hitting anything or being hit, and even now there are no obvious marks on the car, cause believe me i checked, when i picked the car up i was charged almost $200 for their service and was told that it doesn't come under warranty because of the damage ( which i still cant find ), BTW, heads up display is no different .. i guess my question is, where exactly is the sensor for the red light heads up display ? .... thankyou :)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe that the forward collision is monitored by one of the cameras in the top of the windscreen and possibly the radar unit. Book it in with a different dealer to have it checked.

n every time the car is restarted. Otherwise everything else functions as it should. Other "professional" reviewers will tell you it's not quite up there with its main competitor Mazda 6. Try both for yourself and you decide. One thing, it is a rather large car and acts like one. Petrol consumption averages at around 7.9 litres per 100 km. Not the best but acceptable. Put your foot down however, and the 2 litre turbo engine guzzles petrol like a v8 without the benefits. Not a slouch though by any means.
