Very dissatisfied
Drives very well when everything works (rarely) However I have owned my XLT for 4 months and its done 8,000ks.
Have had a never ending list of things going wrong/not working.
Voice activation is intermittent.
Cruise control was intermittent till it gradually became non operational (This may have been fixed replaced front camera after 4 visits to Trevans in Lismore) front sensor same as cruise control.
Engine loses power (like the key has been turned off and then back on).
Headlights are very dim.
Radio reception is very very poor.

Rubbish dealer won't warrant issues
I have warnings, car loses power some times when overtaking (A serious issue), starting issues, Collision assist issues etc. Ford said Diagnostics are perfect. My mechanic's (non Ford dealer) Diagnostics light up like a xmas tree. Ford will not repair wont return calls and emails. I think its a major cost to them. Am trading it in, let that dealer deal with it -the ute is crap.

Wildtrak
Love it great strong car looks and performs well although a turbo diesel v8 would go great with this awesome package, just about drives itself with all of the gadgets and gizmos
I think if the colour selection went further eg winning blue in wildtrak would be top notch
thanks Ford

Have an issue with the indicators flashing at double speed on half turn to full turn of the steerin
We have developed an issue with the left and right indicators? They are working fine, no blown globes, but when the steering wheel is turned half or more, they will flash at
Double speed, like a normal car would if a bulb has blown? Not sure what is causing this or if it is actually a feature we don’t know about? Please help?

Rubbish
Engine died at 46000km. Dealer has had vehicle for 7 weeks now and I cannot get Ford Customer “Care” to reply to any form of contact. Totally unacceptable. Seems to be a common problem. Ford can’t or won’t tell me if they have fixed the base problem so I expect that the same thing will happen again.

Best dual cab ever
I have purchased the 2018 wildtrak and am over the moon. It has so much features and power, tows my boat easily can not fault it absolute pleasure to drive. I drive the Hilux SR5 at work and look forward to getting in the ranger at the end of shift way more power and luxury .

A HORSE & CART WOULD BE 100% MORE RELIABLE than Mazda BT50 and Ford Ranger
Don't even consider Mazda BT50 or Ford Ranger Diesel 2012 thru to present model..............unmitigated junk
Ford Rangers are a re-badged Mazda with the same ridiculous engine.
Just type in "Mazda BT50 Problems" in any search engine for 2 or 3 hours of horror stories.
The FINAL STRAW was when I saw numerous client's vehicles diesel engines SELF DESTRUCT because they took longer than 10 minutes to drain and refill the engine oil ! ......... how could the designer of this engine sleep at night ?,,,,, This is not mentioned BY MAZDA or FOR...Read more

What's wrong with my Wildtrak
I must have a lemon. Towing with this truck is so disapointing most i've towed is 1 ton in an 8x5 trailer .
My first thought was if this is all the power it has what will it be like with a 3 ton van behind.
People rave about power i havent found that button yet $60000 I Should be in love with it but am very unhappy.
Ford say no code faults so thats it.
Inquired today about putting it on a dyno to get some hp figures.
Owners are in love with these things
Please help whats wrong with mine.
Any thoughts !!!!!!!!

Good vehicle
2nd vehicle in this model. Last was xlt and now xls. Both very reliable with minimal issues. About 10l per hundred on fuel realistically and up to 17 when towing a 2.5t dual axle caravan. Tows well, even on standard suspension. Only complaint so far with the xls is no 12v outlets on constant power.

Do not buy a Ranger until Ford fix the engine oil pump. A disaster.
This vehicle us absolute crapp. The worst if its type. It has a variable vane type oil pump that loses its prime and costs you a new motor. Park it on slope for half an hour start it up, oil light comes on and motor instantly trashed. All have this fault and Ford dont want know about it. Worse, change the oil and dont fill sump immediately with new oil after 2 minutes and your motor is siezed. Firds response us "thats the way it is". It should be a warranty claim. What us the point if a 4WD that cannot be parked on a slope. $15000.00 for a new motor. This vehicle should be withdrawn from the market until a conventional oil pump is put in the motor.

Very good SUV with lots of grunt in the engine.
This car is one of the best utes I've ever driven.
Very sturdy & stable on and off road. Although the car is heavy and the engine is big, fuel consumption is incredibly low around town: 9L/km
The only gripe I have with this car is how unintuitive its security and power system is. I plugged in a dash cam, but the car just kept feeding it power even when I turned the ignition off and locked the door. I can't find any option of changing this setting. Eventually the battery started to run flat and the security alarm just went off in the middle of...Read more

So far so good.
A big change up from my ever reliable dmax. Hope to love towing with new Wildtrak. Question whether ford needs a transmission cooler whilst towing van with atm of 3150kg. Noise levels are much lower and the seating is very good especially for a ute. All up so far so good.

Very happy - exceeds expectations!
I've had the Ranger a few weeks now, and I am pleased to report that the more I experience it the more I appreciate it.
It drives very well for a Ute, more like an SUV in many ways. the steering is light at low speed (which is needed as this vehicle is a big unit to park) and combined with the ride is a good touring car - what a surprise. I towed a 2.6t van for a few hundred klms and was very impressed with the stability and steering as a tow tug. The engine power & torque for towing is adequate - not as strong as a V6 diesel - but better than...Read more

Wildtrak 3.2 auto thuds/clunks into 6th gear at about 75 -85 Klm/hr. Sometimes I completely lose 6th gear. This fault happens intermittantly but is happening more often. 2022 with 31,000 Klms. Dealer doesn’t seem concerned, they dropped a new program into gearbox computer. No change. Anybody had an issue like this.
