My boyfriend bought me this watch and I synced it up with my phone while sitting at my desk - I had not moved from my desk and refreshed app on my phone which told me I had taken 58 steps. I then tested the watch by moving my arm as I normally would, eg. drinking from my water bottle, pointing at something on my screen and these movements were counted as steps! I emailed Fossil assuming that the watch was faulty and was advised that "due to the limitations in current algorithms, you have seen ""steps"" even when sitting still." .... Is this not false advertising???
Please look at the picture I have attached - this is the reply I received from Fossil tech support basically admitting that the product does not work properly.

I just keep mine switched off. It makes it easier to forget that it doesn’t do anything, including connecting to the phone or telling the time. Completely useless, unattractive piece of jewellery

Bought a watch for my husband for Christmas, got here after Christmas but not so bad. Watch was way too small & we needed 2 extra links. Store I bought it from didn't want to know about it and told us to get in touch with Fossil directly, they told me that they would only take an order over the phone not via email (funny that was how I purchased the watch!) I couldn't get through on phone after several tries! Absolutely shocking customer service!!! Consumers be ware!!! So now I have to send the watch back and of course I will lose shipping costs both ways!!! Shame Fossil!
