Worked fine once last year. I drained, cleaned and stored it properly. It starts this year but won't keep running, and yes I am using correct mix of fresh fuel. It's going back for a refund.

chain will not tighten anymore
Bought this one in August 2017, used it few times and replaced chain once. Today I got another chain and I am not able to tighten it anymore. Upon closer inspection noticed that screw is not turning anymore, something is broken is I don't know how to fix it. it is still under warranty as it has 36 months but I am not sure if authorized repairers are willing to repair it. unless anyone here knows how to get this one fixed and can provide detailed instructions

About time an affordable 4 stroke chainsaw
This saw is good on fuel. Runs nice and smooth. Ok it's not a 24" bar stihl or husky, but for what it is; it is a good saw. Ingenious how the engine oil is the bar oil. Only bad point, the file that comes with it, is soft and wears out after only 6 or 7 sharpens. That being said, new files are only about $7 at any mower/chainsaw store. No harder to start than any other saw. I have been cutting Aussie natives with it

Faulty product.
Safety bar won't disengage. Can't cut anything because the chainsaw doesn't work. Waste of money don't bother buying one. No video on the website either. Very unhappy with this product.

Gutsy unit .....so far so good
I bought the 2 stroke 53cc Gardenline in March for $150. The unit has started well and coped easily with aged hardwood (yellow gum, red box and red gum) logs of up to 25cm diameter to date.
Found replacement chains at Bunnings for ~$35, though Ebay has the right spec @ 1/5 that price. As noted by other users 20 minutes continuous use will see the saw get quite warm and is probably the point to check your chain bar oil. It's been pretty thirsty on that front.
Re-tensioning the chain has been straightforward.
Don't bother priming 10 x as per s...Read more

Ideal For Light Work
Bought this 37 cc chainsaw from Aldi primarily for light work during annual camping trips. Starts every year with 2-3pulls,nice compact size does the job great. Its not industrial designed so only good for light domestic jobs. But it does overly leak chain oil so only put enough oil in for what you need.
Purchased in February 2021 for A$100.00.

Wow - how dodgy
fuel priming problem - The priming pump seems to pressurise the fuel tank no problem but absolutely no fuel to the carby. And the chain lube leaks oil everywhere! Cant get a service shop to even look at it.

The money is better spent in the pub
I purchased a 45 cc chain saw only stared it once at time of purchase, cut a small piece of timber and placed it back in the box, went to use it again some months later, I opened the box and it was full of the chain oil, which had run all over my path, lot of cleaning, then went to start the saw to no avail, checked the spark plug, pored fuel in the carbi. but still would like start, this is the second Garden line chain saw I have purchased from Aldi, just a waste of money not like a German Company to sell rubbish, it may be cheap but nasty bet...Read more
ter off waste your money at the pub, it ends up in the same place. February 11th 2022 Update: Money back Today I took my non going 45cc chain saw to be repaired, I was in Maitland and the only repair people were in Sydney, the company told me that there was a recall, and gave me a piece of paper for a refund, long way to go for repairs if you live in the country, so if you are not happy with the saw, get your refund.Purchased in April 2021 at ALDI for A$169.00.

Not a reliable item
I purchase my Alidi chainsaw about 18 months ago. I used it extensively for the first couple of weeks trimming tree branches at my daughter's place. Chain came off 2-3 times, even though I had it tensioned correctly and checked the tension after running. The oil tank leaks oil all over the place, so have to empty the oil tank after use. Went to use the chainsaw after several months and it wouldn't start. The priming pump seems to pressurise the fuel tank but not the carburettor. If I splash some fuel down the carby it will run for a short while...Read more
and then runs out of fuel and stops. Won't pick up fuel from the tank . There is no workshop manual available so it is probably "unfixable". I wouldn't waste my money taking it to a mechanic based on other reviews as it is likely to fail again. I wouldn't recommend this item.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Not bad
Works very well but struggled with larger wood diameters. Got quite warm /hot after about 30 mins use. Would recommend for home use. For the price it was a decent buy. ALDI return policy is very good however so not too big a risk if you do decide to return.

Useless product, and forget any warranty claim!
Purchased back in April 18 knowing I'd need a new chainsaw for a property I purchased, but wouldn't go into until July 2018
Went to use it first time. Checked chain tension...OK. Ran 5 mins...chain came off.
Became a regular occurrence.
Then had misfortune to strike a nail in a tree. Blunted chain, lost a tooth.
Can't get replacements off shelf. Had to get a mower shop to custom me up a chain. $50.
The chain coming off the bar became worse. In the end, was seriously dangerous.
Checked the gear on the machine body. Had some sort o...Read more

Aldi 4 stroke chainsaw
Simply great very light, as for fuel Ron 91 octane is fine . Starts first time every time and is very grunty without the noise and smoke . One oil tank is a very practical for crank and bar . The only thing I would improve would be using a larger bar and increasing the chain size, otherwise it was money well sent .

Tough little saw 47.1 CC Chainsaw $199
47.1 CC 4-stroke chainsaw from Aldi Toowoomba for $199.
I think Gardenline finally listened. This saw kicks butt. It's a 4-stroke which is completely different fom
other chainsaws I've used in the past. I know chainsaws and this thing blows my mind. Sounds like a
generator when idles and sounds like a trailbike revving. Love the sound. Haven't had much negativity to
say except, get a better spark plug as the cheap chinese sparkplug causes the saw to spit after that, it's a
47.1 CC monster. Make sure yall use 98 octane fuel and 10w 30 pure oil for the best performance.
Starts everytime now. Don't drop start it, won't help you much.

Awesome Saw
16" 54. 6cc GARDENLINE CHAINSAW; I bought about 16 months ago and starts every time 2-3 pulls on choke then starts 1-2 pull off choke. I tuned carby to factory settings 1 1/2 Low speed & 3/4 turn out on high then turn in 1/20 back in and runs awesome, Also put the idle up as too low! Now I have been cutting everything from 1ft+ wide red gum dry and fresh to hundreds of pallets etc. Get another chain $35 for 5 off eBay (16" 57drive teeth). I run 40:1 on full synthetic 2 stroke oil. Tensioner is perfect ( IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW CRAP INSTRUCTIONS). C...Read more
hain has loosened on me a couple of times (probably didn't tighten enough). Sharpening file is USELESS so get either a good one $40 or spare chains $35 for 5 which is what I now do after file wore out. Most people can't start as easy to flood! Start on choke and pull until it fires for a sec then push in choke and should fire first or second pull. July 9th 2018 Update: Finally failed! After almost 2 years of punishment my Aldi 54.6cc Gardenline Chainsaw failed. The tensioner bolt broke in half ( Sheared somehow). I will buy again as WALBRO CARBY, OREGON BAR AND OREGON CHAIN (replaced chain as 1's I'm using cut better ($7). I ended up returning it for a FULL CASH REFUND. Fabulous Buy
I bought this for my son to help his dad cut firewood, firstly we put a better quality chain on it ($30) and basically away they went. They have cut load after load after load of red gum wood and it has been extremely reliable. It needs to be cleaned thoroughly between uses as the filter is very thin and he did manage to break the chain tensioner, I rang the warranty people (5 year warranty) and insisted we needed to pay for the part due to the amount of work the saw had done in a very short time but the man said "no they stand by their warrant...Read more

I don’t think you will be able to. We tried to get it fixed at a service centre and he couldn’t get parts. We threw it in the bin.
