Worth for the money
I bought one with self propelled some years ago but got refunded. It was very heavy and difficult to manuvore. This time the price came down a bit but I still hesitated a while after reading the bad comments. I eventually bought one as I need the battery charger for my power tools. Aldi removed the self propelled mechanism for this model. It is still very heavy but not a problem to control it any more. Someone complained the catcher. I think he forgot to remove the mulch stopper which is not mentioned in the manual.

Let down
Self propelled stopped working after 3 months. Way too heavy to use without it and only useful when going in straight line on flat ground. Wheels spin when on uneven ground. Catcher doesn't collect the grass very well and clogs when half full. Returned for a full refund.

Good mower.
I have never had any problems with it. Have used it dozens of times. easy to start and starts every time, unless some. I am very happy with it. Never had to recharge the battery yet, had it over a year.

Wheel fell off
Thought it looked easy to use with the electric start button. Very heavy to manoeuvre The wheels dig into grass. Then wheel fell off and doesn’t go back on. Took into their warranty place to get fixed but said there is no part for this. Rang the 1800 number again and after complaining they said to take back to Aldi for a refund. The design is very poor. Obviously the designers don’t read the reviews so they can change the design.

Seems well built and strong... but way too heavy
Purchased few days ago from Aldi for only $299, was not too difficult to put together, but the assembly instructions did have some obmissions. My biggest complaint... the mower is way too heavy at over 40Kg, and very difficult to manoeuvre. Also, I expect a lever to control the speed, this unit does not have one, it runs at one speed only - no mention in the user's manual about that.

Disappointed
Easy to put together and starts easily for the price. It doesnt cut well and it's heavy to push. The catcher doesnt fill up completely and needs to be emptied regularly even though its not full. Very bad design.

Excellent so far
Bought it Saturday 1st of March & used it the same day.
Everything seems good so far.
It’s fairly quiet & excellent accessories.
The electric start is great.
Haven’t used the other accessories yet.

Not really suitable as a lawn mower
I purchased one of these mowers for $299 last year but I didn't manage to use it because of the terrible dry. The lawn just didn't grow. With the recent rain the grass greened up and started growing again. I have used it 3 times since and it is just unusable. The mower digs into the grass and its very hard to push. The electric/battery starter is a bit of novelty and once the novelty runs out its just another way of starting the mower. The grass sticks under the mower as the gap between the mower and the catcher box is so small it gets blocks s...Read more
traight away. All the clippings just falls under the wheels which makes it even harder to push. I called Aldi and credit to them they told me to takes it back to the store and get a refund. The lady I spoke with knew the problem straight away. She said that it is because the mower is too heavy which makes it dig into the grass. They must have had a lot of complaints. Not going to buy another Aldi lawn mower (or other motorised product) again. I wish I had a penny for every time I said that to myselfPurchased in March 2021 for $299.00.

What a wonderful mower.Light and easy to use.Blades too far up in cowling . Blows lots of blue smoke on start up.
I couldn't cut my lawn because the blade was to far up inside the body .
Now that's sorted . What a mower. Nice to handle, easy to start and runs smooth.

Aldi Raptor Mower
I purchased a Raptor mower and it's a lemon. The front of the mower continuously jams against the grass and if i raise the mower it barely cuts. Given that it comes with a 5 year warrantee has anyone returned it for a full refund given that the design is flawed and obviously not tested prior to release.

drive belt problems
starts well mows well hard to push when drive belt comes off .2 issues found
1. spring tensioning gearbox pulley jumps out, result no self drive .
2. drive belt comes off same pulley even when spring still tension in place.
User manual should show how to replace.refit belt pulley back onto pulley,no service manual available .which would be helpful in regard to for mentioned problems.

What was I thinking of!
At the beginning I used to buy quite a bit from Aldi. However, progressively I have been buying less and less because the quality of most things is simply terrible, even some lines of food.
I bought from Aldi a Ferrex Lawn Mower in around $149 on 14 Octber 2022. The Model is DM46P-DO160, and the Product Code is 10852 10/2019. Engine: 161cc and Weight: 26 Kg.
We managed to use it just 3 times on a lawn of around 150 sqm. On the fourth time we attempted to start it, it just simply refused to do it despite plenty of oil and fuel in the...Read more
machine, and despite following all the strict recommendations to start it. (Because this mower is actually very special, and thus needs very strict guidelines for starting it !!! Managed to take the spark plug out to check it, but nothing appeared unusual. I'll buy a replacement spark plug, probably tomorrow, and try to start it again with the new spark plug. By the way, every time we managed to start this mower was with great difficulty, and when it did it always threw lots of blue smoke at the beginning. For some silly reason we can't find the receipt, so probably we lost the $149. NEVER! but NEVER again I will buy anything from Aldi. How can Aldi be allowed to operate here in Australia?Purchased in October 2021 at ALDI for $149.00.

Excellent mower with a couple of small issues
The mower model is MS196-52E (product code 61866). This mower works very well on a large lawn area. My garden is close to an acre and I find this mower easier to use and far cheaper than a ride-on mower. It is on the heavier side but it has a strong self-propulsion which makes the mowing job much easier especially on an incline. It also makes use of a Li-ion battery for starting, which again is a big plus for this mower. After stopping the mower for whatever reason, restarting is a breeze.
One small issue is the design of the grass outlet on th...Read more

good enough for the price
ive used this once so far. i live in a dry area so lawn isint very thick. its a bit gutless if you do have a thicker lawn. motor would die down a fair bit if I hit a thick patch. for $150 you can't complain too much. easy enough to maneuver. and done a good finish. didn't like starting while warm but started fine when it was cold. noise is fair. would recommend if you don't have a big lawn and don't want to pay much.

Never found a mower that started so easily
Just purchased so long term usage I can't comment on but it immediately impressed me, unlike the previous 14 other mowers purchased in my lifetime when I could start it first time without the usual effort (and bad language). Thinking it was a fluke, I started it up a further 3 times until my wife told me I was obsessed ( and possibly senile to boot),

Called service (Positec Australia), very helpful and understanding. Was able to return to my local store and received a full refund. Only issue was that the ALDI staff were not able to assist me to lift the mower (40kg) from my car.
