PT’s stay away from this business ! Members don’t trust the contract!
Sharing my experience as a PT; this business model might not work for some because of the high rent, together with the free sessions Goodlife asked you to do which increases your weekly overheads.
We basically pay $311 pw + have to run free sessions for Goodlife to gain clients. These clients have paid $40-50 for two sessions already devaluating our product, then at the time of converting the prospect as a regular client there is hesitation. To add more, this gym don’t have the amount of active members they claim to have.

Read moreell !! The numbers of PTs (17-20 in goodlife Maroochydore)to potential clients ratio is very low. Meaning, there is no enough market, members and or business in Goodlife to make an income and go through the fluctuations of the market. Goodlife is simply in the business of selling memberships, holding members paying even after they have asked to stop payments and or froze accounts and covering overheads with $16K of rent per PT per year. Not to support personal trainers develop their business. Let alone, to add any good vibes and values to the fitness industry.Liar liar liar! They just want take your money!!! Never go back there!!! Tried to cancel membership August 2022 ( I’m not in even Australia) but I was told still has 17 weeks remaining. ( agin failed to mention there’s 30 days notice period) Ok so I emailed them agin at end of January to cancel it and I noticed they keep charging me every Monday. It’s REALLY hard to get a reply from them!! I Try to get refund from them and they were like oh there’s 30 days notice period… I was like WOW total nonsense!! The sale rep told me I could cancel anytime after contract ends without being charged any fees.. liar

Dirty sales tactics, click on an "free period" offer and sign up was charged immediately, tried to cancel as I was mislead. I got a very smug reply saying that's not included in the membership and I should of read the fine print, why hide something in the fine print! Be upfront about pricing and membership. Now they want me to pay an extra 30 days under threat of debt collection.

Machines are constantly out of action.
Wipes to wipe over equipment are never re stocked
Staff cannot be bothered assisting customers and reception desk attitude like everything is too much effort
This is the best part I walked in today did my workout and then they played the same rubbish statement where your mask wipe down etc yet when I walked out the receptionist isn't even wearing his mask correctly .guys don't spin crap when you don't practice what you preach ..Incase you didn't know it's called being a hypocrite.
Complete waste of time and money and much better places to sign up with !

I just noticed that recently Goodlife West End is still deducting the money out of my bank after my membership ends!!!
I've signed up for a 3-month membership. The first payment was on 27 Sep 2021. So I think the membership will end 27 Dec 2021.
I've called them to ask for refund any payment they deducted after 27 Dec 2021. You guess what happened?
They said it is an ongoing contract, it is written in your agreement. Your membership will not cancel if you don't tell them. Seriously? I feel it is a fraud. If that's the case, why would I sign a 3-month membership not an ongoing membership?
They never told you that when you sign up!!!

They say if you wish to quit give us a 30 days notice period. What they don't tell you is that even on the 29th day you will be charged for full 2 weeks in advance. So even if you don't want to, you have to go to them. This is what they bury in terms and conditions which I was not provided and am NOW being offered a copy. A classic example of big companies ripping off their customers.

Wow, I am not surprised to see similar reviews from this business. The sales agents will lure you in, and fail to mention additional services and fee's until you sign up, (then you'll get harassed and hounded by their phone calls) this company is a complete disgrace and uninformative MESS!
They will organize a direct debit SELF SERVICE out of your bank account and milk you with additional fee's that are unheard of, that were never explained at the start due to the obvious amateur consultants, or perhaps that's just apart of the scam.

Why do you not take feedback & action it. I have posted a review on my Facebook would be keen for a reply. Love using Carindale but don’t like service at all.

They say things such as - don't worry you can cancel at anytime during the first month -
Then when you call to cancel they say "oh no! It's actually after 3 weeks. Give us a new notice of 28 days"
They said to have "lost" my first email with a termination notice and forced me to give a new one and wait extra 28days.
They operate with direct debit only so they withdraw money from the bank account even when the contract is terminated.

As a personal trainer I was denied to have my rent paused so I could visit my terminally ill father in Victoria. Resulted in me being sent to debt collection.

There is a common theme here. They lie when you contact them to cancel your account and just keep charging you and pretend they never got your request. Re instated my membership without me knowing and charged me for over 12mths before I happened to see it on my credit card statement. Customer service staff are condescending liars who have been trained on how to scam you. Their business model is a legalised fraud. They told me they have good lawyers who have worked out how to legally scam you. Don’t sign anything with them would be my advic...
Read moree. I’m talking specifically about Bardon Goodlife but I am sure it’s the same with all of them. You will find high pressure tactics to sign a contract from the moment you step into a Goodlife gym or any of the other gyms they own.My past experience 10yrs ago was good so I returned which I’m now regretting big time.
The salesperson didn’t tell me about extra quarterly fees, and I was supposed to get my first 5 weeks at $5/week… which I did… except now they claim that doesn’t count towards my yearly contract so they’ve added on an extra month to my locked in contract.
The gym is fine, but I can’t stand being lied to and tricked. The contract doesn’t clearly have a start and end date, only a first direct debut date (different to my start date).

I attend 3 morning classes a week and love them all. The range of participants is from young, fit, beautiful bodies to my age group of young at heart, reasonably fit, not so beautiful bodies. What I really like is that our instructor, Sally, somehow manages to give us all a great workout with many options offered. The classes are a joy and I usually leave with a smile on my face. Admittedly I'm also hot, sweaty and exhausted, but happy.
Goodlife Caloundra called me offering me a job as a personal trainer after seeing my profile online. I told them I was looking for part time work as I was a full time student. They said to come in and have a chat so I did. I was told they don't usually do part-time because you can earn much more money working full-time and set your own hours. However if I tried full time and it didn't work out I could drop down to part time as the PT manager had done for other PT's. I was told that many PT's in the club were doing well and there was plenty of m...
Read moreoney in the area so I would have no problem succeeding in the club. I was also told they had a good training program and I would receive a lot of support. This was all a complete lie. My PT manager Jade was hardy ever in the club and was constantly cancelling our catch up sessions, after a few weeks she left and we didn't have a manager for over one month. Most of the leads I was given didn't have jobs and could not afford to do PT. The majority of PT's in the club were barely making enough money to cover rent and had second jobs. I asked to go part time and was told by the area Manager Hayley, no way, you knew what I signed up for. Next time just go and work at Coles and earn minimum wage. I was stuck in the contract for 6 months paying $310 a week in rent and lost $6470 including the sign up fee of $1100 which covered the uniform, 2 days of sales training and business cards. The management couldn't have cared less and they don't care about PT's at all, once you quit you are stuck there for 3 months paying rent, while they have time to replace you with some other poor person. You are expected to work for free, I gave out over 100hrs of free sessions because that's how the leads work, you don't get paid for the initial 2 sessions of a jumpstart pack, the money goes to the gym. You are also expected to offer people 2 free 45minute sessions for quarterly coaching and one free activate session to people who just joined. You only get paid once you convert them to a paying client. DON'T EVER WORK HERE!!!!!Stay away if you are really interested in keeping healthy. They use predatory practices to get new members. If by chance you happen to go as a guest or take their trial, they will hound you till you have signed up. For that they will make sure to call you repeatedly at every possible hour and day and try every trick and extreme measures to force you into signing up. If you sign up for trial, they will make you run-around to cancel your membership after the trial period. Besides, the gym is overcrowded.
