Tyres separated with 5mm of tread on them
These tyres seemed fine until they failed a roadworthy inspection. One with serious tread separation from the carcase and one starting to separate. They were on the rear of a Hyundai I30. No impact damage. Tyre pressures were always maintained. The assistant at Beaurepaires, Hamilton, said it was because they were old and had gone brittle.... made July 2013. He also made out to my wife that they were older than they were. I emailed Goodyear and got no response. I know many manufacturers have had batches of tyres with faults. When that occurs o...Read more
ne would expect a proper inspection of the tyre for safety reasons at the very least. Very poor service from a major manufacturer like Goodyear. I am also not at all impressed with Beaurepaires. I tried phoning them to query it, but hit a brick wall at reception. If you have these tyres on your car, have them checked regularly or bin them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good value for money
i picked up a set of 4 from Tempe tyres and the tyres is much quieter than my previous kumho tyres even though the Good year tyres are H rating and the Kumho was V rating. Road holding is good in dry and wet than the kumho. Response in the turns are sharp and accurate and do not provide too much buffers for inexperience drivers, therefore do not race it.

This product is great for older cars too.
Hadn’t changed my tyres is years and suddenly I had a few flats. Swapped to these tyres on Ford Laser and have never looked back. They are quite durable and the car feels lighter to drive. I don’t know if that’s a thing but that’s how it feels. Would recommend for older car models.

Quiet soft ride
Not sure about the fuel side of things but we have 2 cars with these tyres - they seem to produce a soft quiet ride which we prefer and seem to wear fairly slowly. They can make a bit of scrub/squeal noise if pushed a bit through corners we noticed. Had Michelins before which wore well but were hard and rather noisy on coarse bitumen we thought.

Not as good as the old assurance
Recently had to change the old goodyear assurance tyre because of worn thread and was encouraged to change to the "new" assurance fuel max. Unfortunately my experience with this tyre has been poor unlike the older goodyear assurance. This is my feedback driving it over the last 3 months on my daily driver a toyota camry.
The old tyre had great grip and predictable handling and braking expecially in the wet, confirmed by consumer magazine review but this deteriorated when the thread was about 3mm deep so I changed it. I recommend it as a go...Read more
od all rounder. The new tire looks the same, has the same thread but the similarity ends there. The fuel max tyre is not as good as the older goodyear assurance. Biggest issue is less grip at the limit and much less progressive (and a bit abrupt). Other very important difference I would like to highlight is that it squeals alot.(braking and acceleration). Cant say much about the wear but I suspect better than the old assurance, so I have to live with it for longer. I hope this helps with choosing your tyre. They are all black and round until you put them on, then you are stuck with them. Quiet Poor grip, squealsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Noticeable improvement in fuel economy
Bought 4 Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tyres to replace the Bridgestone Run-Flats on my 320i. First thing I noticed was how smooth the tyres run, and fuel economy dropped to 9L/100km (normally around 10L/100km). Also very quiet compared to the Bridgestone Potenza original equipment. Plus good value as I bought them during Goodyear's buy 4 pay 3 promotion.
Noticeable fuel economy improvement. Very quiet.
Grip not as good as the OE Bridgestone Potenzas, but I think the Fuel Max are not designed as performance tyres

I put new Goodyear Assurance on my Camry Altise 3 years sgo and have done 20k and worn to 1mm! Urban driving 3 punctures. Disappointed by poor wear.No fuel economy. I am 77 and slow driver.
