These tyres are not for every body.
Hi, i ordered kumho tyres from Kmart Tyre & Auto Service on the 08/01/2018 booked the car in for tyres to be fitted
at Maitland on 24/01/2018 left my car with them, they rang me to say the kumho tyres were not there so i went back
to have a look at these OPTILIFE that they recommended to me with a 50,000 KLM tread guarantee so me living an
hour & 15 minutes away took these tyres so i would not have to go back, These tyres are rough, noisy and bumpy do
not suit may KIA, i have taken the car back to have the tyres repositioned on the rim and ...

Recommended: fitted to Subaru Liberty AWD sedan as a budget alternative to Michelin
Durability, So far so good, wear rate seems about right,
low noise level not at all noisy,
grip feels safe in the wet
no sense of squirm in the dry.
very good heavy braking characteristics, takes ABS to the limit
recommended at the price point offered by Kmart with their tyre saver service
Hi Alan, thank you so much for your feedback. We're so glad to hear that you are enjoying our tyres on your Liberty. We appreciate you leaving the five stars :) Thanks, Team Goodyear Australia

Long Life, But Pretty Noisy.
Decent tyre, much better than some other mid range tyres i've had. Decent grip too and long life, managing around 70000kms, running them right to the bare minimum. Good enough tyre but road noise was pretty high, probably being the trade off for the longer life. I would buy again if on a tight budget..
Hi there, thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you found our tyres durable and that you would purchase again. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks, Team Goodyear Australia

Does the job
The Tyres seems to last at least 30k on the odometer. Seems to work fine in getting my car to and from work for not affecting performance. Not that I am racing to work each day. The people at Kmart auto recommended this tyre for my car. Seems to cost pretty average compared to other car tyres.
Hi Chris, thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you can rely on Goodyear tyres to get you to and from work. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks, Goodyear Australia

Great tyres in terms of being hard wearing
I've got these on three of my cars at the moment and they have lasted for a very long time, so do live up to their name in that respect. I do find however that the handling and road noise generated is not great compared to some of the 'softer' sportier tyres on the market (which don't last anywhere near as long). I previously used Dunlop SP Sports and found they were more comfortable but wore out very quickly. Weighing up the pros and cons I prefer these Goodyear's.

Don't buy these
Having bought the cheapest to the most expensive Michelin brands I expect at $230 per tyre that these would be right up there. Wrong! Hard ride, not great cornering, after 2 balances on good rims they still vibrated. Took them off in less than 7 days and despite Beaurepairs recommending them, they were awful. Have them up for sale at half the new price and cannot sell them. That speaks volumes to their quality methinks. Now got bob Jane xenon and at $100 cheaper they twice as good.
Hi there, thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that our tyres weren't up to your expectations. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help or improve your experience for next time. Team Goodyear Australia

Quiet comfy ride
had to change all 4 of my tyres as part of wear and tear. decided to go with Goodyear OptiLife 15 inch for my Camry instead of Kumho in Kmart. Best choice ever, drove to Wollongong on the weekends and cant really hear road rolling noise. Ride comfort is improved too.

Great prices, durable tyres.
Wanted to get some tyres that were cheap, durable and good in wet conditions. These tyres are relatively moderate price (around $150 each), and exclusive to Kmart Tyre & Auto Services. They are able to carry a load of 615kg, handle speeds up to 240kph, and are also have good grip traction.

Great tyre
Good all round tyre for every day driving and your normal type of car. Probably wouldn't use them on a high end performance car but for the price overall happy. I have put these tyres through a few tests and they didn't disappoint unlike another review on this page who lost control in a xr6 probably doesn't know how to drive. The only downside is the after sales service is non existent with your free rotation and balance.

Tread lightly
Went to KTAS to replace my tyres on my Corolla as they were starting to go bald. They recommended these and my car drives as well as it used to. The tyres seems solid and maneuver well in wet conditions. We've gone on trips down to the coast and it handles well

They last like the say they will.
Bought these tyres for a Volvo with new 17 wheels because the said they would last. Have done 35,000 km on them in 3 years and the front still have 50 percent tread and the rear 75 percent. Have never rotated them and it's a front wheel drive car. The stick to the road exceptionally well, they are as good as, if not better then any other tyre I have had on any car. they were about 175 each for a 17 inch but easily worth more. They are the only tyre I would ever pay a premium for again.

Good tyres, no complaints
Replaced 2 worn tyres with these about 10000 km's ago and have no complaints. Grip is fine in the dry, and have had no issues in the huge downpours we've had recently.
K-Mart offer them with a free rotation/pressure service but I won't be taking advantage of that as tyres are checked/rotated every service.
I'll replace the other two with the same when the time comes.

Nice and quiet
Purchased through Kmart tyre and auto as they priced matched others and had flybuys. Overall the tyres seem great for what I paid and didn't break the budget. They are pretty quiet on the road with not much road noise and grip really well in the wet. I'm hoping I don't have to replace these anytime soon.
No complain
Had these tyres for my Honda CRV for many years, a bit noisy but good grip. Compare to Bridgestone, I would think Bridgestone is less noisy but dearer in price.Only Kmart Auto sell Optilife which is a shame because I can't price match the pricing and thus not sure if that is a good price for that quality.

Don't drive in the wet
I had good year excellence on the car when i bought it s/h and was going to go for the same but the KMART manager said these tyres were just as good.
In the dry they are not too bad unless you have to do sudden cornering then they let go.In the wet or damp they are horrible try to move off from the traffic lights and have the back tyres spin and they let go on roundabouts .My wife has noticed this even though she does not drive.
Our car is a ford falcon 2010 6 cylinder sedan.
My advice is to steer clear from these.

Car is so quiet with these tyres!
Second time husband has used these tyres and he can't get over how quiet they. Only disappointment is that Kmart Auto are the only company in Western Australia that sell them so they can put any price on them and they weren't cheap. Last lot lasted over 6 years with hardly any wear. He loves them!

can't complain
I just had two of these put on my car, i mostly just do city driving and they've been fine so far. I'm always a little nervous about new tyres and wet weather but even in the wet they have performed ok. My car is just a little toyota echo.

Abysmal
Bought a full set of 4 tyres fitted to her Subaru.
Made it abundantly clear that we live in stony mountain country and have 15 unsealed kilometres between us and civilization.
First tyre died at under 1000 KMs next tyre went at almost 8000 KMs the other two are now unsafe to use from belt failure and bulge and are both leaking after about 12000 KMs .
Total distance covered from 4 tyres around 33000KMs.
Won't buy them again, wouldn't recommend them to an enemy (let alone friends).

Simply not worth it
I have had these tyres on now for two years.
They wear OK. The wet weather grip is starting to noticeably let me down, but the biggest complaint is that they go out of round, and separate which means thy start to give low speed wobble which is quite noticeable. KMART replaced one because it was so bad and now the rest need replacing but I figure - why bother - I just don't want these on my car.

Very limited grip in wet weather
Goodyear Optilife are undoubtedly long - lasting with a harder compound. They grip OK in dry conditions, but they are hard-riding.
My complaint and concern over this product is the minimal amount of, or rather a high-degree of loss of traction, control and stability in wet conditions. I couldn't even get adequate traction to move off from a stationary position on an incline, not to mention the rear of my vehicle sliding out on round-a-bouts, etc.
I have to change these tyres after about 8,000km's use, and due to personal circumstances hav...
Read moree only recently had the vehicle in wet weather conditions. I have complained to a manager at one of the outlets of a National provider, but he stated several times there have been absolutely no complaints of this product, he uses them on his own vehicle, and on the subject of a refund based on the adverse driving capability in wet weather conditions, he stated you would not get your money back on a tv after nearly 12 months. To which, I replied, But a tv does not have the capability of contributing to an impact into a power pole. He was unmoved by my concerns and said, check your tyre pressures and alignment, both of which are ok. Hope this helps.- Verified
Good quality tyre with long tread life
After trying several brands of tyre decided to put a full set of Goodyear OptiLife on my Outlander.
2 years later and 40,000 km with a fair bit of dirt track use in outback NT these tyres still look like new with heaps of tread.
Was so happy with them put them on the wife's Camry also a year ago with no problems so far.
Have had no issues with lack of traction as noted in some reviews.

Terrible in the wet!
Could not believe the lack of grip in the wet. This includes accelerating and cornering, especially roundabouts. Maybe accentuated by the car being a FWD but still no excuse. Fair in the dry but a bit noisy. Will definitely not be buying again after all, tyres are the most important safety element on your car.
Noisy tyres
Bought these tyres at KTAS.in Dec 2015
Car felt way too light on the steering for the 1st 5ooo km
now at 12,0000 km are so NOISY, sounds like the tyres are out of round, am going to replace,
DO NOT BUY THESE TYRES, you will be very dissapointed, a waste of $920
Noisy and no grip
Purchased these types from KTAS as it was all they had at the time and required for rego. Happy to pay more for another brand but non available at store. They are noisy have terrible grip in both the wet and dry weather. These poor quality types impacted the fuel economy on the Prius by more than 1 liter per 100km. I will go back to Michellin Eco tyres in future as they wear well they are not expensive and deliver the fuel economy in the Prius. I am surprised how how these tyres have affected the performance of the Prius.
No grip in wet conditions!!!
Was recommended these tyres by the guy at KTAS, naturally they push the brands they supply. Tread pattern looked good, and sidewall thickness was ok. Due to needing tyres urgently I accepted the offer and put them on. Worst decision ever. They ride ok but that's it. I've never experienced such a lack of grip around a roundabout in a constant AWD car! the thing doesn't want to turn and has sent us skidding into the next lane on more than one occasion with the kids in the car! I don't think 15-20kph should be enough to push any tyre to the point that it just lets go. Wishing I could get my money back for these rubbish tyres.
