Terrible Bluetooth integration
This is for a Gen 2, the Bluetooth integration is horrible. My Bluetooth adaptor is mains-powered so it doesn't go into power-save mode.
The Nest Hub will randomly disconnect and reconnect while there is nothing streaming. Even worse, it won't fully disconnect whether by voice command or changing the default speaker in Google Home. The annoying thing is that Home states that the Nest Hub is the default speaker, even though it's still connected to the adaptor. This means if I want to use another device with the adaptor I have to remove the power and plug it back in.
Nest Hub has had Bluetooth issues for years, but Google seem unwilling or incapable of fixing it.
Game-changing device for the kitchen bench.
This was our first google device, and still my favourite.. we connected it with a Spotify account and we have music in the kitchen all the time.. its more than loud enough to do surrounding rooms too.
I'm not really into voice activation.. id rather just push a button, but I have things like "Hey Google, Play my favourites' or even a specific playlist, and I can do that while im making coffee, and its actually good.. but I still use buttons to change the volume etc..
I occasionally cast things like Kayo sports or youtube onto the device also

Only negatives are its operating system, if you will.. the spotify UI is not great, I just cant get to certain playlists and things on the screen, and sometimes verbally is difficult.. but its not a deal breaker.. I'd also love it to be a bit more flexible in its use case, it would be perfect for a kids alarm clock for example, and their music speaker.. but its not really made for that (although it can be done).Horrible
Bought it to connect to my daughters baby monitor and to play white noise. White noise fades in and out waking daughter. If I use it on Spotify, it turns off after a few hours. Freezes. Doesn’t play camera. Most of the time doesn’t understand my commands (I speak aussie English with no accent) very basic Smart Controls. Do not waste your money. I’m glad I only got this and the speakers through using points. So mad!

Not perfect, but love it anyway.
This Nest Hub 2nd Gen is pretty good to be honest. I use it as a clock radio, and find it really easy to set an alarm. I have it connected to my Google Home, and it works nearly flawlessly. I say nearly. For a single alarm, I can set a routine to turn the radio on when I cancel the alarm. For some reason thus does not work when you set a daily alarm, for example M,T,W,T,F. I get around this by having the alarm on at say 6:59, and then I have a routine that starts at 7:00 daily. I use both because randomly the radio routine decides not to work some days. I can also cast audio and video to it. Overall, I really like this device.

Worst device I've ever bought
I wanted this to replace a very old iPad that sits on our kitchen bench that we use to look up the weather forecast, watch some video apps such as 9Now and play some radio. Firstly this device (so utter annoyingly) mostly communiates via voice commands and it often doesn't quite understand what you want anyway unless you get the terminolgy exactly right.
Amazingly you can't even access any apps that are available from the Google Play store. So what it can do is very limited. And what ever it can do it does very sloooowly. And apart from all
... Read more of that, the weather data is wrong for our area so it's useless for that too. So unless you are right into home automation or something it is quite a useless device. The actual price point of this thing should have alerted me to it's usefulness...or lack thereof. So, unless you want another capable LED photo frame, it should do that very well. However, it was a very regretful purchase indeed. (Purchased from Allphones who are always very competetive and their deliveries always very quick...so I'm very satisfied with Allphones!)A disappointment
The Nest Hub is good value for money. The speaker is good for the size and it is a very useful device. The problem with the device which Google still need to fix are, hand gestures do not work, sleep sensing does not work and the biggest problem of all is Calendar events are reported in the wrong time. For example if you have an event for 7.30am Google will report this as 9.00pm. The time on the device is correct, alarms go off at the correct time but the calendar events are reported incorrectly. This is very annoying and needs to be corrected.

Very useful to have in the office or bedroom. No camera to invade privacy either. Just let Google manage your smart home using your voice. Screen is big enough to use but not in the way.
