Much Quieter than OEM with Similar Performance

published

Its been both wet and then dry here in South Australia, and I recently ditched my original figment Kumho tyres on my Holden Cruze Diesel CDX. Got less than 30,000kms on each set and the car always sounded like the wheel bearings were on the way out. Now it is quiet, so much so that my 93 year old dad, whose hearing it shot, remarked how quiet the car was these days.
The jury is still out on mileage, but the Hankooks, which I got on a 3 for the price of 4 deal, seem to handle and stop well in both wet and dry.
My mate reckons I am the only person he known who speeds up for roundabouts, so I can speak with some authority on the mechanical grip provided by these tyres.
So far I am very happy.

Purchased in September 2021 at Bob Jane T-Marts.

Fab tires

Looked at other brands but these HANKOOK 215/45/17 ?H426 were the best and the cheapest I could get for my car and my budget, they give my Kia better handling than other brands I have used they look great on my car, and I got a fab deal when I bought them for price and handling I would buy them again that's for sure!

Not bad, not great

published

These tyres came fitted on our 14' sportage, 50'000 k and they've been ok I guess and nearly due for replacement, a little noisy but that don't bother me much. They have been rotated regularly and pressures maintained and copped a fait bit of punishment on our crap sth west Victorian roads. We once hit a massive pothole at speed, I thought the tyres would explode for sure but they held up. These tyres are fine for city driving but if you were constantly driving bad roads I'd choose something else.

Came Standard On Elantra - Happy So Replaced

published

These Hankooks are so called "Eco" tyres, the therory being that they have low rolling resistance and good wear so reducing fuel and resources.
I was at first sceptical as they didn't look like they had a whole lot of tread when new, but 70,000 ks later they put in an excellent performance. They would have gone longer but the front end was out of alignment and so wore unevenly. Thats not the tyres fault! Would buy again.

Great tyres!

published

I purchased a second set of hankooks after some great results with another set on my partners car. They were on the cheaper end of the scale, however, I have been very happy with them. They handle wet and dry very well and drive quietly which allows for a smooth ride.

published

These are the best tyres we had them on our Kia Sportage platinum since we bought it 2013 and only changed them in July this year 4 years later only as we were going on holidays and driving a long way to Queensland and wanted new tyres to be safe but they still had plenty tread on them
Never had a problem grip road good and last highly recommend these tyres

I did email HANKOOK Australia about this fault but to date they haven't dained to reply but instead have run adverts on the local TV on what wonderful products they sell. Big business, deny the facts and keep bullshitting.

Great Tyres

published

This is the second set of Hankook tyres I have recently purchased, While these have only been on the car for 4 weeks, the biggest difference noted is that the road noise appears to be less than that with the previous tyres.
There is no noticable impact on the performance of the car, compared to previous tyres.

Very disappointing.

published

Barely got 30,000 kms out of these tyres. They were sold to me as a mid range tyre and I really expected more. My previous tyres on the same vehicle went for about 55,000 kms. I drive my car fairly conservatively and my Hancook tyres were treated no differently to the previous ones on my car. I am disappointed and would not buy Hancock again.

Great Tyre for a small car

published

Have only just purchased these, but can already feel the difference on the road. I don't travel far or at high speeds on a daily travel, but there are lots of corners and stops on my route. These tyres feel safe and stable, and for the price point are highly recommended.

Great tyres at a good price

Recenty put these tyres on my 2014 Forester XT. Very smooth and quiet ride on all road surfaces from day one. Great handling in all weather. Lifetime free puncture repairs from the tyre dealer as well. Much better than the Bridgestones that came with the car originally. Would recommend to anyone driving an SUV in urban conditions.

Best set of tyres I have owned

published

My Kia Sportage came with the 426s and I have put 80 000 kms on the set before replacing. In that time I traveled 50,000 kms between the gippsland and melbourne daily and 3 trips to Broken Hill. They are fantastic tyres. I would say that the road noise from them is a bit on the loud side, but they equally could be the sound proofing in my car as well. However, a very good well rounder.

12000km and need new ones

published

Had these tyres for a few months and they have super poor handling on the highway.. After 10000 I noticed chunks coming out from driving on a dirt road. Dealer said it was because of my tyre pressure which is maintained to 40psi monthly. Don't feel comfortable with these on my car and I'm looking forward to going back to Bridgestone tyres.

OK, I guess

published

I got these because JAX screwed up my order and put these on instead of the HP2. They didn't have any HP2 in stock so decided to give these to me instead without me asking, and I only found out after they had already put them on. I didn't have time to come back so I'm stuck with them.

They are OK for the job I guess. I have them on a 3.6R Subaru Outback, which gives a ton of grip due to it's AWD system. However, I can still feel the rear tyres slipping when going around some corners, especially in the wet. They wear well and are quiet, but I personally won't buy them again. They would probably more suitable for more casual drivers who want decent enough grip and a long lasting quiet tyre, but there just isn't enough grip for me.

these were recommended by the tyre retailer. have taken back twice to see what could be done, retailer has blamed buckled rims and worn bearings.. had everything checked by a mechanic using dial indicator. but mechanically the car is perfect.. Tyres, cant wait to change them..ed

Excellent - quiet and smooth ride. Good grip

published

Used it to replace the incredibly excellent Yokohama A series tyres on our Honda Jazz, for nearly half the price. 175-65-14s. For some reason the A-Drive and these Hankooks work really well with the Jazz. Way better ride and noise than the Michellin XM2 which I had temporarily but couldn't stand the bumping and noise, even with lower tyre pressure.
Very quiet; very good ride. Excellent handling. Very reasonably priced.
Nothing to note, except perhaps a touch noisier and harsher than the Yoko A. Probably don't wear as well as the Michelins. Both these and the A-Drive seem to wear prety quickly on the Jazz.- say 20000 Km.
