Hawaiian Airlines,
To whom It May concern.
My wife and I have flown on your airline three times in the past four years, the most recent on a A3300 aircraft. We have both found the service and friendliness with H.A. to be exceptional.
The suggestion I would like to make refers to the use of the screens mounted on the rear of the head rests.
As not all passengers are aware of the correct way to operate them, that the finger nail or a toothpick can be used to navigate arround the screen. The continual hitting of the screen by the the fin...Read more

Hope the airline service is better than the website
Can I rely on an airline that has constant problems with their website. All I want to do is print out my e-ticket BEFORE I fly out. Even the travel consultant at Hawaiian Airlines could not access the website when I attended their office. If you plan to travel with them, allow plenty of time to cope with what I hope is only a hiccup.

Getting To Expensive
Hawaiian airlines seems to be getting to expensive they must want Qantas and Jetstar to take all the business from them . I have been flying with them for 5 years but all good things come to an end . Middle of October fares $1705 they must be joking.Looks like i am going back to Qantas $ $1036 suits me better, although i do love HawaiianAirlines and Hawaii.
Just getting to expensive

Good flight
Flew to Honolulu Easter 2014. Like any other airlines there are bad and good trips. I have flown with a lot of different airlines and I think it is the crew who make the flight what it is. Great airline. Lucky for me there was 3 spare seat across from our window/aisle seats on our return trip so I asked if the hostess if it was okay for me to sit there and she said yes, so I had a row all to myself.

Great service Sydney to Honolulu return
The aircraft was clean blanket and pillow provided, Meals were pretty good for airline food. There was a few good movies to watch I managed to watch 3 on the return trip which made the time go quickly. What was outstanding was the genuine friendliness of the cabin crew this was the best I have ever experienced compared to other airlines.

A nice way to fly
The flight to Oahu was good - comfy, good staff, not a lot of variety with the meals, but nice anyway. No movies were shown which was annoying, as it helps to pass the time on a 9 and a half hour flight!!... The flight home was so much better... Food and beverage service was constant, only one meal available, but was very tasty - with dessert and beverage. Afternoon tea was sandwiches, chocolate, biscuits and beverage!! Refills were offered quite often, the service was pleasant and we watched 3 movies!! All up, really happy with the service, strange that it differed in each direction.. Happy to fly again with Hawaiian Air.

Pretty good for the price
We flew Syd-hnl and hnl-oak return. We have a 2yo. We booked direct through Hawaiian and the fare was very cheap for us tho unfortunately not so cheap for the 2yo. Go figure. Anyway, the consultant made sure we were seated in a 3 seat combo on all legs, which is tricky with the big airbus, but he seated us closer to the back where it narrows (but not so close that we were next to the toilet!). That was really helpful. Also the recline on the seats in the airbus is better than you'd expect for cattle class. Quite good really.

painless each time. I think it was oakland where there was a priority security line for ppl with young kids. Awesome. The only [censored word removed] part was that being from Melbourne we had to connect with virgin. This worked well on the way out with our luggage checked through but not so well on the way back when we had to clear customs in Sydney. That flight was a little delayed and by the time we got to Sydney domestic it was kinda lucky our flight to Melbourne had been cancelled and we had been rebooked on a slightly later one (which was delayed. Such fun with the 2yo.) All the flight crews were friendly and helpful. On one leg the captain came through the plane and gave every kid a wings sticker. Ours was thrilled. Mr. 2 didn't like any of the food so it was lucky we byo'd lots of snacks. The meals were ok. They really had the absolute minimum in meal service over the flight. Which is ok at night but on a day flight back from hnl it was a bit light-on. And they have snacks for purchase but they are really snacky. You cannot buy a sandwich. Btw I think you can get a kids meal but we didn't - you probably have to request it and I didn't think to - I just assumed it was automatic with the kid booking. The u.s. planes were old with no individual screens, but the movie was free. The hnl-Syd leg entertainment was paid. We byoed electronic devices preloaded with stuff so this didn't bother us.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bit Disappointing
Flew Sydney to Honolulu return during October and overall thought the service could have been much better.
Meals were quite poor with only 1 choice of chicken & vegies both ways.
Only 1 movie available for free - more if you pay for them.
During the flight my wife went to the galley a couple of times for some soft drinks and on the second occasion when she asked for 2 cans she was asked if 1 could be shared.
If you want an additional snack mid flight you need to pay - credit card only, no cash.
Cabin crew were generally a bit grumpy.

Check in was quick and staff friendly, service on the plane hurried there was a tea /coffee cup on our meal tray but none offered at dinner or breakfast, you had to ask or get up and get it yourself .The plane was clean and leg room was fine but was abit noisy .The price you pay should include more things, movies had to be paid for surely these could be included how many movies can you watch between Sydney and Honolulu .Flight was good and landed more or less on time, it was a long way to walk to collect our luggage, then the carosel broke down...Read more

This is my 10th year as a dedicated Hawaiian air traveller for long distance trip syd to HNL and Hilo also to LA and Vegas also started to use their HNL to JFK this year and looking forward to their expansion with new aircraft purchase planned.
Today's trip started on the 4th October at 2000 When I attempted to use the web check in 24 hours prior with no success. I called their Tech support they advised "computer glitch " was preventing my check in

Couldn't SLEEP from SYD - HNL
10 hour flight the person behind my seat kept on using his "touch" screen monitor which reverberated through my seat.
The inflight attendance asked the offending passenger to think of other passengers comfort, but he continued his behavior.
DESIGN FAULT: The Airline should correct the fault with the mounting of the screens

Average but improvement needed
This was our second return flight from Sydney and noticed basic choices of movies and meals have not changed in 2 years this is not good for the airline.I thought the seating was also more cramped than last time which when people lay back leaves you no where to go the screen was nearly on the nose. It gets to the stage to stop all seat lay backs if the seating cannot be changed 10 hours is a long time!.
Cabin staff very friendly and helpful.
Need to offer what competitors are offering.

Boo! No vegetarian meal requests or nut free meals - terrible inflight entertainment
Flew Sydney to Los Angeles return although I usually fly with Qantas, Virgin or Air New Zealand; I thought I would try different airline given I fly this route annually and have been doing so for 20 years. My goodness, this airline is so outdated and although the flight attendants were very good, the service itself was horrible. My son is anaphyllactic with a severe nut allergy and I am a vegatarian, and there was no preordering of special meals...if you are lucky they might have two meal choices which did happen on one leg of flight, but rece...Read more
ived a chicken meal on all the others which was accompanied by a nut snack. On the 11 hr flight from Honolulu to Sydney, we received 1 meal only and were both famished after 8 hrs on flight. They sell additional snacks, and every single snack had nuts!!! Given the high incidence of allergies, and the risk of someone going into anaphyllactic shock on a flight you would think they would be a little more sensible. And their inflight service is BAD (movies cost $8.99 each). Flight attendants were very good No meal choices, nuts in everything, bad in-flight service.Similar opinion? They cancelled a confirmed booking causing me extra travel expense and was told it was my problem.
Booked to fly on Hawaiian Airlines - NYC to Honolulu in November. Have a confirmed booking then I receive an email telling me the flight on the day of my booking has been cancelled and they have put me on the same flight the following day.
The issue - a day of extra expense - accommodation, meals, transport, etc.
Wouldn't have been so bad if they offered to cover some of these expenses but have been told - nothe extra expense is my problem.
There is a clause in their cancellation policy saying if a confirmed booking is cancelled they will cover these - but when it came to asking - the answer was no!!!!!!!!!!
Public relations - don't think they know what it is.
Bad public relations and service.

Hawaiian Airlines
Flew Hawaiian Air in June 2013, Honolulu to Sydney. Fhe crew was helpful and friendly, however the airline failed in my view on the 2 most important things ina long flight.: Comfort and entertainment. Leg room is led than average, probably the worst I have experienced after flying many international flights. In flight entertainment is minimal and new release moves are only available as per pay at $7.99 per movie. Again unheard of in international fully priced flights. We have flown with Hawiian Airlines between LA and Hawaii a few times with never any complaints. We decided to take adavntage on now direct flights to Hawaii from Brisbane, we were a little skeptical after reading recent reviews but thought for our ten days in beautiful Hawaii the flight there and back was not going to spoil our holiday. Disappointing Service
Flew with hawaiian Airlines Brisbane to Honolulu on 24 April. The meals were good, seats comfortable and enough room and flight went smoothly and on time. Took quiet some time after take off for a drink service to come through the cabin. We were disappointed with the cabin crew who were older staff they did not appear to be happy or friendly and not even a smile. Made the long flight home very pleasant one and we felt welcome to be on board. Reliable Disappointing service by cabin crewSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not Good Enough For Money! You Get What You Pay For With Other Airlines.
My family and I of 6 flew with hawaiian airways last year std-hnl, this was our first time flying this route with them, previously we have flown LA-HNL with them, and also this route with Jetstar and qantas when they used to fly this route. We were very excited as unlike other airlines that service this area, they invoke true aloha, and from reviews plus previous flights, we expected better service, awesome atmosphere amongst hawaiian staff and overall a better experience. Where do i begin... 1) Hawaiian air is always more expensive than Jetst...Read more
ar (if you only doing syd-hnl) yes you get a meal and 2*23 kg bags and personal tv, however these amenities are Not Worth Your Money! the food is awful.. bring your own on! the baggage is good.. we always book 40kg's each back and so this built in to the price was good because my family use it(we love to shop) the tv doesn't work, you spend most of your time bashing the screen with your finger, because the touch pad facility of the tv, is not responsive, (you feel the person behind you bashing they finger into the tv The Entire Flight!) and most of the movies that are recent need to be paid for and aren't complementary!. The service of staff, are adequate, you would think they'd instil better aloha manners, We did not receive this, Overall the flight syd-hnl on the new airbus 330- was okay, we had a lot of turbulence and movement because we sat at the back of the place to get 2 rows of 3, perhaps it was better at the front, who knows? the plane felt very thin, and ive flown over 30 times internationally, my worst flight experience I was physically sick(wont go into details) as well as 3 other family members. We arrived in Hnl in one piece, and overall the flight their was dealable. The flight back we didn't experience much turbulence, a little but not as bad as previous flight. The problem with our experience coming home was service, when checking in, its a self-serve experience with hawaiian air, fair enough, we've flown before, and have done this yourself, If you've never done this before I imagine it could be over-whleming, be weary people behind you will become impatient we had to check in 6 people and 14 bags, don't worry about them, and take your time, It Does Get A Little Confusing And Technical! our problem with this was lack of assistance from staff, we asked I believe 5 hawaiian staff members, about the appropriate check in station, not one could tell us, and each one would un-nicley tell us that we were using the wrong one, after the previous person had sent us here, eventually we did it. When checking-in it comes to the baggage weight part, for a self-serve check in at this stage, about 4 Hawaiian staff members watched and were very rude and abrupt about us touching our bags and doing this part correctly? due to security?? if they need to but in for security reasons so many times, and were not allowed to touch our bags after this point why is it Self-Serve? ridiculous, anyhow we eventually got into the plane, and all is well.. at least we thought. We land, go to get off the plane after almost 11 hours of being in the plane, and the staff brief us and let us know That For Customs And Quarantine, They Will Be Spraying Us, haha okay this has happened before, the light mist comes out of the air vents no problem, No! They physically come around with arousal cans, and spray us with a disgustingly strong spray, like we were vermin, the spray was terrible, my younger sister suffers from migraines and she was feeling so sick, After being sprayed your required to sit in your seat and lap up the 'delicious scent' for around 10-20 minutes from beginning to end. How fabulous we eventually got off of the plane, and were able to get home. My entire family were gobsmacked at that last surprise, and it tipped us over the edge from okay-not so good experience with Hawaiian air and probably wont be flying with them again(unless their flights are significantly cheaper which will be unlikely )..Sorry for long rant, but i think for people who have never flown with these guys before, would be interested, i would ahve like to have be aware of such an experience.... Tis all. Xx baggage allowance, food/beverages included in ticket service is lacking, Plane is loud and alot of movement, Quarantine spraySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Do not fly with them. Service is a disgrace.
We flew Hawaiian Sydney to LA, LA to Las Vegas, Las Vegas to Hawaii and are due to fly back to Sydney tomorrow. We have had nothing but problems. We have a 1 year old and do not expect special treatment however I do expect a level of service which should come with paying the fare. een Honolulu and LA and provided no financial assistance in the first 24 hours when we needed it the most. All of my husband and my daughters clothes etc were inside and it took them 3 days to find the bag and get it to us. They told us we would receive 30 dollars a day after the first 24 hours however they are fighting us about this now also. And they will not give a cent for my daughter whose clothes were also in the bag stating she is not a full fare paying customer. The majority of the hostesses are rude and not helpful at all. We received no information from them in regards to seatbelt safety etc when it came to our daughter and had to ask. The last thing as a parent you want to do is inconvenience other passengers however they make flying with a child horrific as once again, we are unable to book and pay for the bulk head seats through web check in. They had the cheek to tell us that the only way they could help us was for on our last day to catch a cab to the airport and check in that way. We told them it would cost us 130 dollars round trip and we couldn't with our one year old and they couldn't care less. They are a disgrace. I will never ever fly them again and if you are thinking of booking your holiday with them don't. Terrible service. Don't fly them with an infant because you will get no assistance what so ever and as a passenger expect a lot of unhappy babies. They lost our bags and gave us nothing to buy any clothes with including for my one year old. Worst travel experience ever.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
