Agent (ie Direct Flights) offered to sort out flights cancelled by Hawaiian Airline for an additional $930pp less approx $80 commission. My wife and I have travelled with Hawaiian on two trips this year. Once from Sydney to Honolulu and later to Kona for a holiday and then recently in two stages via Honolulu to New York. The planes on all flights were modern and clean and the leg room in economy was much better than QANTAS. One inter-island flight was late but otherwise all flights ran on or ahead of time. Congratulations for wonderful service not only in the air but the ground staff as well. How wonderful to find at the end of one's vacation to be met at the International departure terminal by a gentleman with trolley to take one's bags and even check you in! I received an email from Hawaiian Airlines at 11pm Saturday night advising us that our flight from Maui to Honolulu the next day at 11:10 am was cancelled leaving our family of 6 (4 young kids) stranded. I flew HA first time by recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed. Paid extra for the comfert seat which is well worth it in my opinion.
I did few inter-state flights as well & this is where I found my issues with one of my flights, 1 out of 6 not too bad.

Disgusted by Qantas flights, I took HA to Honolulu and had a fantastic seat over and back (Row 13) in Economy. New plane, lovely attendants of mature years, no one behind poking the screen and delicious food. Then next time, as a family, we flew Premium Economy as a treat for me. Considering it is SO much more expensive for a seat which does not recline - where your feet swell up to 5 times their normal size and you get your food first with metal cutlery, there is not a lot of difference. I would like to say the Pilots are fantastic. I hate landings, now landing into Honolulu and back into Sydney I didn't even know we had, they are worth more money.
The crew, yeah they are friendly but you don't see them much on a flight. We paid extra for a comfort seat and you do get treated like business class (toiletries, menu, extra leg room) but you pay more to still be sitting in economy, just pay the extra if you can and upgrade to business or better still save your money go an economy seat and with the savings shop!!!
