hello
I am looking at one of your heaters (EOHA22GR), for a glass-enclosed section of my verandah. The area is approximately 18m sq. Do you think that this heater will be sufficient to warm up this area?
Thank you

THH 3200A

I have purchased and hardwired 2 x THH3200A Heaters a 1 x Controller. My Electrician can not wire both to 1 controller due to the 24.5 amps drawing. Do you have an updated larger controller as do not want 2 controllers on the wall

HEATSTRIP A.Heatstrip

Hi Brett,

Thank you for your enquiry,

It is possible to use one wall controller to control multiple heaters. The wall controller is rated at 16 Amps and 240 volts. For larger current draw, talk to your electrician who can use a relay or connector to connect more units.

The TT-MTM hardwired controller modulates the heat output using a "timed on / timed off function. the Controller does not modulate the voltage output. A relay is therefore suitable for this application.

We want to insulate our alfresco roof and have been thinking of getting Heatstrip Elegance, however our builder has said it would not suit the insulated ceiling panels (it would get too hot and damage them according to him). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Any ideas?

I have a pergolla 20.8 sqm area with 2 open sides and 3m ceiling clearance. Im Thinking of installing either 3 x 2400 elegance range or 2 x 3600 (hard wired with seperate circuit) any views or thoughts? Also what configuration are they best installed to (horizontal or vertical?)

Hi John,
I am no expert in these things and maybe if you called the Heatstrip people they might be able to enlighten you. My area is about the same, albeit I have the area enclosed with pull down Perspex awnings and a ceiling height of about 2.5 mtrs. They do a fantastic job if it is getting a bit chilly and you maybe turn them on about half an hour earlier to warm up the area, although with your open area if you sit or stand beneath them it should be sufficient. Always mount them horizontally. Either 3x2400 or 2x3600 should be sufficient. Hope this helps.

Hi Roger,
Sorry I cannot be of any assistance here. My only thought is that the current draw for running three would be too high, but this would blow a fuse. Suggest you contact Heatstrip direct.

Looking at comparing the 3200w heat strip for $700 compared to the Gasmate classic Alfresco @ $300. Anyone know if they offer the same heat and features + wondering why the reviews rant that good on the gas mate?

Hi Darren,
Horses for courses I guess. Not familiar with the Gasmate, but we were able to mount the heatstrip under the roof of the pergola.
As we have limited ceiling height, where a gas unit needs a higher ceiling due to the radiant heat rising.
Hope this helps.

Hi
Is it normal for the heatstrip controllers to make a buzzing noise? ( we have two as one was not enough to piggyback the other heater) and also they get very warm too. Our first one we purchased had to be returned as it had a high pitched noise to it that was so loud it was faulty so heatstrip posted us out another one.

I am deciding between the heatstrip brand and the ventair heatwave pro. Any feedback on the ventair option?

1 answer

Williamsont1981

Hi Peter,

I have worked in retail stores selling these heaters ( Heatstrip, Maxiheat, Gasmate Alfresco and our brand called SunStrip) for around 7 years now. The prices of all the heaters have come down a lot and if you search online you'll fine much better value for money than either of these. Of these 2 products you have outlined The Heatstrip is far superior as its thinner and has an aluminium backing ( unless you are 300 - 400 meters from a the coast/sea then this not an issue ) The Thermofilm is not perfect however as it requires you to spend $200 -$250 if you want to have a remote or some control over the heater. Many heaters found online offer more features, are more modern and will save you $300 - $500 per heater. A 2400w heater in any model / Brand will use the almost identical amount of electricity and heat the same area.

If i was you i would check out the Goldair Radiant heater from BBQ galore or our brand called SunStrip Platinum, either of these will give you the same heat, same running cost but will save you more and offer more features.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

We are looking to install on a ceiling that is 2900mm high. Given is at the maximum recommended height by the company, really interested to know what heights people have installed them at (note is an enclosed outdoor area which has two open sides to the garden (other two facing the house)? Thanks

Our ceiling is 2700 and open on three sides. As they are radiant the heat has to get to your skin in the same way you get benefit from a bonfire in the open air. At 2700 mm we get great benefit and even sometimes turn them of for a while!

Personally I would think they will be fine at 2900.

Hi ABH,

From the outset i need to declare an interest as i am a importer and retailer of strip heaters and have sold the Thermofilm models in the past. Regardless of the model i would suggest lowering them to 2.7m at least otherwise you won't enjoy the full benefit. I've had customers buy Thermofilm, Maxiheat and our brand and position them higher than 2.7m and there feedback is always the same that it's not hot enough.

Hope that helps

Do the heaters lend themselves to being controlled to the point of running a 2400W unit at say 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 or then full power or are they either fully on or off ?

HEATSTRIP A.Heatstrip

Hi Stefan,

You'll be able to control to temperature of the HEATSTRIP by purchasing the Heatstrip TT-MTM Controller which has a 1/2/4 hour countdown timer with a low/med/high temperature setting.

Williamsont1981
Williamsont1981

Hi Stefan,

The answer from the manufacture is 100% correct. I would like to add some additional information to you question. Traditionally you'd buy the strip heater and then spend another $100 - $300 on a wall mounted control that can operate 1 or 2 heaters depending on the output of the heater. In the last 2 years many of the manufactures of the strip heaters have started to incorporate the remote control in the heater panel itself. This makes the installation more cost effective and gives you more control over each individual heaters. All the remotes tend to be on the same frequency so you can easily use 1 remote to control the heaters separately.

In short the Heatstrip will gives you the function you require and is a very good heater, However if you do some googling you will find heaters that offer a more modern solution.

Hope that helps.

What area would 1800W heater cover ?
my alfresco is 4m x 9m. How many panels would I need?
thanks

1 answer
Williamsont1981
Williamsont1981

Hi Boris,

I will be upfront, I sell Heatstrip as well as my our brand of strip heater called SunStrip.

I am going to assume your putting in on the ceiling and it's a standard height.

Honestly I Would suggest against the 1800w in any brand. Unless it's a tiny area they just don't do the job.

To cover your area go for 3 x 2400w or 2x 3200w.
The 2nd option requires it to be hardwired.
If you really want the 1800w then I would be looking at 5 or 6 to cover the area.

Hope that helps
