Good allrounder
I bought the Colorado brand new in Nov 09. Since then have done over 55k on both on road and off road. I have the desiel LT-R version with the 5 speed manual gearbox. When unloaded in both city and highway cycle I achive 8.2ltr per 100km. Loaded towing camper approx 9.5ltr per 100km on the highway. I cannot say that I have had anything go wrong and for the price, would reccomend the vehicle for any one who wants to have a vehicle with plenty of power, the ability to tow whatever, the fuel economy of a car and the ability to travel off road on weekends.
Comfort in handling on road, plenty of power.
Drivers seat needs to have more adjustments, need different tyres to go offroad, the originals are hopeless.

Honest little workhorse
The company I work for has several makes of light commercial 4x4's. The Colorado's were bought to replace the Hilux models.
Admittedly the Colorado was met with some reservations.... this quickly disappeared.
I drive both a twin cab with a canopy and a single cab chassis with custom tray-toolboxes on the rear. Each vehicle has approximately 350kg of tools & equipment onboard.
Bitumen driving is comfortable and the interior noise levels are quite low.
Fuel consumption is reasonably good considering the equipment we carry and tow, fuel capaci...Read more
ty is 76 litres. Steering is nice and direct, but forget about doing any tight u-turns the turning circle is quite large, a common problem with 4x4's in this category. The 3 litre diesel is a gem with the gear ratios well matched, whether you're in 2H, 4H or 4L the gear spread is just about right in whatever terrain you tackle. Towing a couple of tons doesn't fluster the car too much, and negotiates winding hills with little fuss. Off road the car is somewhat better than expected, the stock suspension does the job quite well and handles everything from the rough stuff to soft sand in it's stride. Personally I'm not a great fan of push button 4WD selection as it does take a bit of time to engage and disengage. Something to consider when approaching boggy areas. With that said, it's 4wd capabilities are better than anticipated for a loaded ute in this class.

Great dual purpose car
Comfortable commuter to work.good driving position. Comfortable cab. Good power, tows 1.5t caravan with ease. Frugal with diesel. LTR diesal manual 4x4. Capable off road although I don,t push the limits. Comfortable for touring for 2 adults- plenty of room. Drivers seat could have more adjustment like the commodore however still comfortable. Holds the road well, particularly on corners but harsh on rough road at speed. Bad rear visabity with a canopy on the tray, good big mirrors though.
looks, power for towing, comfortable, reliable so far,
Poor rear vision with canopy, lack driver seat adjustment

Best for long trips
I traded up from a Nissan Navara, found the change excellent. I bought the LTR turbo diesel 4 door and have found the Colorado is so comfortable on long trips and pulls my caravan with ease. Can't keep my wife out of it which is strange because she owns a new Mazda 3 which is also an excellent car? Fuel consumption outstanding compared to the Navara I had and no hill is too steep to maintain speed with van behind.
Comfort, fuel economy, power when towing, rear vision is better than Navara
Gear lever has long throws but still ok, stereo hard to read in daylight, limited storage behind rear seat for tools etc. Tyres could be better but all makes I tested had same issue.

Excellent
I have owned my 4X2 Cab Chassis Colorado for 12 months and use it for work as a carpenter. I have clocked 30,000 klm's in that time. Before the Colorado I owned a Toyota Hilux 2001 2.7 petrol which I bought new. They are two totally different vehicles. The Colorado offers a better ride with more power and better fuel economy. The Hilux was very basic and more truck like with a harder suspension but you couldn't break it! When I was looking for a new work vehicle one thing I wanted was electric mirrors and not those rubbish truck like mirrors wh...Read more
ich are bolted to the door. Sounds petty, but those big mirrors always work loose and get bumped. Even when driving on the freeway they would move and when your load blocks your internal review mirror and your passenger mirror is bumped you have no visibility. Purchase price was better than other vehicles in its class thanks to Holden Factory bonuses. The Standard Limited Slip Diff and ABS are great features that should be in all vehicles of this nature. I would recommend a Colorado to the person who wants a Ute that is a able to take the work and still have a reasonable amount of comfort. Turbo Diesel gives great fuel economy (10ltrs/100kms with load), reasonably comforable for one tonner, looks good, handles well, power on hills, ABS, Limited Slip Diff and power mirrors as standard. Fuel a bit trickey to fill, suspension a little soft at rear when loaded. Servicing is a bit priceySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good
great vehicle overall if your not a serious 4wheeler, major issue if you want auto .
no big 4wd trips without upgrading cooling capability for transmission.
Isuzu held back on eng management technology to give the the edge re fuel consumption.
Shape, ltr more style & bling over dmax ltu looked a bit dated although very similar, plenty of service through holden dealers . Holden dealership were more professional.
Plastic scratches easily, no key light, no a/c or cup holders at rear.Stereo controls not easy to read on the road lot of reflect...Read more

ive got a 2010 Colorado petrol v6 and had many issues with my O2 sensors. Changed them out a number of times, changed both cat convertors and even had a auto electrician go through my wiring but i keep coming up with a O2 code. It normally takes a day or 2 but after clearing the code or changing out the sensors it keeps coming back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
