An excellent Replacment
My Moulinex Vario Jet which had been a reliable steam iron for many years, developed a rusty leak and became unusable. Choice rated the ANKO most favourably and at an incredible $35 which was considerably less than what I had paid for my old iron, placing this replacement purchase well within my budget.
I really enjoy using my well designed Anko, the digital display is very clear, the settings precise and the steam function gives excellent results. I also appreciate the superior design when filling the water tank.
For me, this iron has much to recommend it.
Purchased in January 2021 for A$35.00.

Piece of junk. Way too hot!
When I first got this iron, I really liked it but as the months went on, it seemed to glide less easily and I found it got way too hot on the recommended settings for various items, esp my husband's business shirts. Today I was ironing a cotton blend shirt on the blend setting and the iron ended up overheating and burning the shirt. It then shorted and I had to throw it outside. 18 Months old, pathetic!
Purchased in January 2021 at Kmart Retail Stores for A$35.00.

It goes all the way to 11
This is the second iron I have bought in twenty years. It is a little heavy compared to my 1990s iron but the benefits outway any negatives.
The water tank holds a lot of water and I can iron 4 shirts, couple of pairs of pants and not need to refill. The steam function is automatic so no button to push to control steam. It reheats quickly after continuous steam. If you hate beeps, don't get this machine, it makes beeping noises all the time.
I haven't used it on any other fabric than cotton/linen which is top heat. My ironing is cut in h...Read more
alf as I don't have to run the iron over the same area two or three times, wrinkle free ironing each time ahhhhhhhh. It has an auto clean function which I haven't used. I only iron once a week but will clean one day to see how it goes Happy with the iron for $35.Purchased in June 2021 for A$35.00.

No, sorry this iron is NOT up to scratch
I bought the iron on 7/2/2019. Let's face it - it was cheap $35. So, in many ways its not fair to compare with other products that cost a lot more. I am the 'ironer' in the home, my wife hates ironing, and I hate it less, so I have the 'job". First impressions were OK; it was a reasonable weight but the cord was way too short. Its about 1.5mts. I have found you need at least 2mts. The controls on the iron are a bit cumbersome. Being "digital" you have to manually set the iron to the desired temperature each time you use it. That's a pain. iron actually worked well for a while, but I doubted the longevity of the electronics. Sadly, I was proven correct. The LCD began to malfunction within 2 months showing an incorrect symbol on the screen, and finally, the iron began to behave erratically, showing an error message and a 'red screen'. This was accompanied by a very irritating high-pitched alarm which would not go away. Upon which, I packed it up and returned it for a refund. Summary: Even though the iron was cheap, its no excuse for a badly performing product. It should have lasted a lot longer than 4 months. The inconvenience is the punishment. I have settled on a new Phillips iron, costing $55 on special, that has less electronic wizardry and a 2mt cord, let's hope that is better, at least sees the year out. Update 16/9/2019: So very happy with the new Phillips iron GC3811/80Purchased in February 2021 at Kmart Retail Stores for A$35.00.

Great Iron
This iron is just great for value consisting of a digital display, anti drop system and anti scale system, non stick to make iron easy. It had 11 different settings for all your ironing needs. Great value for money.

This is perfect
This iron is without a doubt the best I have ever owned. I love the digital display and settings. I also love the fact that it is hot and ready to use in under 30 seconds

You need to perform the self-clean.
Follow instructions per the manual. I did it over the sink so I could lean it on something. It is difficult because you have to hold the steam wheel in the self-clean section. Be careful, there is a lot of steam. I found holding the iron on an angle hurried the whole process. Watch your hands as I said, there is steam and it is difficult to hold the wheel and be careful of the steam.
Once the water tank has emptied of water, it will probably still be beeping. Turn off the iron and let it cool and the beeping should stop.
