My bathroom needs to be totally redone and re-designed;
- Install a toilet (not one existing in this location).
- Remove bath and replace with shower.
- Remove and replace basin.
- Change or modify window.
- Install water fittings & power for washing machine.
How do I arrange for a quote? My area is Ashbury (between Ashfield and Canterbury).

Why is your organization such a con? Ask for Quotes and all you can expect is to be bombarded with "tele-marketing" from Manila and a deluge of emails from hipages BUT absolutely NO Actual Trade /Service Companies.

Hi Dave, I'm one of the tradies from Hi Pages
i'm also relatively new to Hi Pages

i don't know how it works from the clients end
but, as i understand it

- Initially you go to Hi Pages, and you request a tradie
- what happens then is, your request gets send to guys like myself (the Tradies) it actually only gets sent to 3
- after we get it, we have the option to Accept of Decline at our discretion, if we decline, it goes to another tradie
so basically, you get 3 calls whichever way you look at it
- from my end, we basically run to the phone because we know that if we don't answer within 1 minute of it coming through, we don't get the job.
the problem with that is.. i get charged $10 per Lead, so if i miss out, i lose $10
- My only complaint to hi pages would be this.... Why are 3 tradies being charged $10 each, when only 1 tradie can actually get the job.
it makes more sense as far as fairness is concered, that hi pages only charges the guy that got the job
- but as for the other stuff your saying, i don't know about that. i know that when i call the number, i also get put to Manilla
and as an I.T. Expert, i'll be honest, Their staff are not highly technical

but when you said "No Tradies called you"
i find that hard to believe, because if that happened. it would mean
a) hi pages didn't make $30 from your inquiry (which would be stupid)
b) they are just pissing you off

it would make more sense to have had 3 tradies contact you and then market to you afterwards

so.. that's my point of view on the matter

I want to know how Hipages can change the contractual agreement with Tradies halfway through the term of the Agreement? I pay $199 per month (thats what I was offered nothing else no other figure) to now be told that those that pay $299 will be given first response to leads? I now get leads that have been post 12 hours ago what chance have I got? Yet they still bill me. I suggest that this could be fraudulent. They the Managers won't answer me emails ???????????? Not happy Jan

Hi Steve. You're correct, we have changed the way you're invited to leads but this has nothing to do with how much you're paying. We sent out correspondence to all of our clients explaining the details but I can assume by your post you didn't receive this.

The reason for the change is that we have more businesses listed and as such we were sending out more leads. We only allow 3 businesses to claim a lead which this meant a lot of businesses were getting wait listed and this is obviously a very frustrating experience. We therefore implemented a new way to invite businesses to minimise this and ensure that everyone gets a fair go at claiming lead invitations.

Our system will limit the number of businesses that get invited to the average number we need to invite to connect 3 businesses for the customer. This means you are likely to see fewer invitations but the ones you do see you will have a much better chance of being able to successfully claim (without being put on a waitlist). We will also ensure you receive leads up to the value of credit you have. If you are sent a lead that is 12 hours old its because we are still trying to get the consumer 3 quotes and have been unsuccessful in the initial sends. You would not be charged the full price for a lead this old and we occasionally send them out free of charge to get the consumer a good response.

I hope that i have addressed all of your concerns, If you would like to talk about your account please let me know. Im contactable on 1300 762 994 or [email protected].

Kind Regards, Donna Hole, Head of Service

It's a trade I was quoted $69 to join for 12 months, then it would go to $289 for 12 months . Are you really paying $199 per month ?

steveadams

It is a breach of promise by your own admission. Sales person to me said the reason for the change from $20 per lead was Hipages wasn't making any money. He assured me this $199 per month would be better for me and I sign up on that premise. Now you select who you give the leads to so it is fairer????? When ever I have answered leads that are hours old the client says the job has been taken sometimes within the first 10 minutes.Thie system stinks and as I said is a breach of contract.

That's the misleading nature of hipages. They show off by having good feedback only. They are hiding all unsatisfactory businesses. I have had very bad experience with the tradie they provided. Hipages conveniently washed their hands off and got rid of the tradie out of their account after my bad (loss of hard earned money) experience but never ever bothered to recover my money back but simply said go to fair trading!!! Never do business with hipages.

Well it's far to late to do anything about it now as it was 6 months also it's taken hi pages 6 months to let me know how to forward a complaint.
The trades person was the owner of Splashberry Painting a straight forward job empty 3 bedroom 1948 ex housing commission house.
To be painted one colour White walls ceilings was given approximately 2 weeks site manager organised all other trades that we also got from hip pages that were excellent around the painting,we went away returned still no painting done and we had Paid the 50% deposit site manager could not get hold of him 6 weeks it took to paint this house on and off half days here and there going to turn up but didn't we had to rent for three months as all other trades had to be done later on one occasion my husband and I visited the site and the painter was there we pinned him down and wanted a final date when this straight forward job was going to finish he told us he ran out of paint and could we give him a couple hundred so he could go and purchase the paint we did as we wanted the job finished and we intended to take it off the account he did not return until three days later the job was a total disgrace and I sent an email stating he should be ashamed of his workman ship.
I have paint peel from around the light switch I have cracks in the ceiling as the paint is starting to peel away wrong paint used on architrave, since then I have had a painter in he has stated the job had not been sanded back wrong paint used it was going to cost another $6000 to re do this house money we just haven't got so I'm left with this poorly painted interior that I have to live with every day
