A great cheap but reliable saw

published

I had an olive tree that needed removal. After getting tired using a bow saw decided that I needed to expedite the process without spending too much. Decided on the Homelite 12inch product under $100. Perhaps a bit small for the size of the job but it certainly did the trick. The only issue was that the chain did go blunt relatively quickly but I don't thing this was a fault of the product. It was easy to start and had no issue with it whilst it was working. Never used a chainsaw before so it was a bit daunting Intially but got used to it very quickly. I was a bit concerned about kickback. Did not happen once. Chain replacement is a relatively easy process.

Purchased in March 2021 at Bunnings for A$99.00.

A great cheap saw

published

Cheap does not have to be junk, plenty of power and light weight. Goes Good, starts easy but more suited to smaller jobs with its 12 inch bar, but take your time with it and anything is possible.great for $99

Great chainsaw for the price.

published

Purchased this small chainsaw to tackle small jobs such as cutting up fire wood and pruning small trees. Great little machine, starts easily and lightweight, so you can really throw it around. 12" blade and plenty of power for its size. Would not suit large jobs, it is more suited to the small stuff.

What is fuel capacity. Amount of 2 stroke oil?

Fuel ratio is 50:1. That means 20ml of 2 stroke oil per 1 litre of fuel. Use a good quality 2 stroke oil for your mix, most mower/hardware and car parts outlets will have it.

Can i buy spares

The chain is the main replacement part, you can buy from Bunnings or Ebay. As for anything else, you would need to check but these are pretty much a throw away item. It will last for a long time for general use, if you want spares back-up, spend a little more.
