Not worth the money

I live in a regional area so do long trips. We got the RS limited edition with the red and black seats and interior.
Pros:
It's great for the kids, sits a teenager in the back comfortably, with plenty of legroom as long as the seats are not pushed all the way back. It looks good, has a lot of options we do use. Accelerator responds well, and with blind spot monitoring I love. The rear view camera works ok when not wet. Front drink holders. Sleek design, with non of the cheap sightly plastic edges most cars have today.

nt system. The entertainment needs to be pressed firmly or it does not respond. Also as I have long nails it does not respond unless its skin on skin contact, which is a bit of a problem. The navigations system tends to play up and takes you on a wild ride to nowhere at times, not to mention it requires every little bit of detail to be inputted which to me is useless as it cant even find a servo, or a shopping centre etc. Lets also not mention it gets confused with any underground tunnels, which is quite frustrating and you just go around in circles, as it guides you down a road that does not exist outside the tunnel. Having it compatible with Android would be a good advantage as you wouldn't have to bother with it, however, was not an option with this model, and I hated the cheap plastic new cars are coming out with now around the edges. Bluetooth hands free is a little disappointing, as I often get complaints that they cannot hear me and there is too much background noise. Which means you have to turn off aircon in 42C heat and yell at the kids to not make a sound, I am lucky I do not have babies and toddlers. The rear camera works great however, if it gets wet, it becomes useless, and have to pull over to wipe it dry so you can see, good luck with that one. All this and your lucky to see to the screen when the sun shines on it. The seals around the door windows have already peeled off, as well as a piece of plastic on the side of the dashboard kept popping out. However, these are the only things Honda is willing to fix and did, with a bit of mucking around. I find the A/C very disappointing, as they bragged how great it was when we took it for a test drive, but it was 23C outside and parked in shade. However, crank up the heat to outside at 33C and it struggles to cool the car down, this is with tinted windows, and a sunshade sitting across the windscreen. But hey once you have travelled at least 30km it starts to kick in then. Don't worry about the back passengers, as far as Honda is concerned they can just fry, as there is no A/C vents in the back. Which to cool the back passengers down, you have to freeze your own butt off, when it does kick in 20 min later. Just shut off your vents? Err no you cant, there are a few vents that do not close off either, which is quite annoying. If all that doesn't put you off well your gonna love the fact that if you do not keep the car undershade, you get a warning fault on your dashboard that you cannot get rid of, until you again travel for more than 30km so the dash sensor cools down. This is a big deal as if your car does overheat one day your gonna ignore it and say oh its just cos its hot outside. Not to mention you cant even see how much petrol is in your car etc. Last but not least is the compartments. The drink holder is real snazzy, you can put small or large drink bottles, and even has this little levers that hold it upright. This is where it stops, you have nowhere to put your phone, and trying to charge it, you cant even see or reach were the cord plugs in. Yes there is a USB were you can charge your phone, but it is not a fast charge and take foreeeeeeever to charge the phone and leave cables dangling everywhere. Did I forget to mention they do not have cup holders in the back, poor form Honda? There is a little compartment you can put your phone right at the front of the car, but not much else fits in there. Honda stated that they do this to stop you from using your phone whilst driving errrr right. The other compartment behind the drink holders is sooo tiny, it barely fits your wallet. The side door compartments to put anything is another small issue, it doesn't even fit my disability tag and it often falls out. Maybe its somewhere you can keep a few pens or even your mobile if you do not charge it, and hope it doesn't fall out, as it's not too high either. Don't bother even trying to fit a small coffee in the door, as you can't due to the curvey design and some kind of separator, which renders it completely useless. I keep my etag in it, as that's all that fits. The front drivers seat does not slide all the way back like the front passenger seat, so if you have long legs, your gonna feel very cramped in. I am only short so its not an issue for me, but my son refuses to drive it as he is 5ft 10. The petrol release lever is so far down that you need to get out of the car to release it. The lights are very bright which is a plus for me due to where I live, however, you get flashed a lot by other drivers. The rear door compartments are useless too again like the front, no space, not even for a drink. The back parking sensor warning sound sometimes does not work, so don't rely on it. The road noise for the car is pretty bad too. Honda needs to fix the entertainment system and the dash fault, but they won't, for a $38,000 car you think they would. Honda dealers just like to make you think your the issue not the car. This will be my last Honda, I was going to purchase the CRV in 6 months for a second larger car, however, this HRV put me off, as from the sounds of it, Honda are not what they use to be, with similar complaints I have read with the CRV.

Purchased in November 2021 at Blue Ribbon for $38,000.00.

Absolutely beautiful car

I’m loving my new HRV although only had it 3 weeks but so far it’s beautiful to drive... great fuel economy... the service and sales are just great...I have just one question if someone out there can answer....my new HRV-RS doesn’t come with driving auto door locking? The book tells u how to set it but just wondering if that is for models outside of Australia? It had its first 1,000 km service today and the guys tell me it doesn’t come with auto door locking? Does anyone else have a HRV and know if this is correct or not?

Love this car

Love this car, it is lovely to drive, has all the extras you need. The hands free can be a little tinny, but otherwise it is the best, would definitely recommend.

Purchased in March 2021 at Blue Ribbon Honda.

Love the looks and practicality

Bought 2022 HR-V RS and had it for 2 months so far. I am in love with this car and I am so glad I have gone ahead with this SUV than any other SUVs in the market. Very comfortable and feels great to drive.

Purchased in March 2021 for $35,000.00.

2015 Release RS (2018-2020)

Can u tell me please if the 2022 HRV-RS comes with driving auto door locking ...it says in the book the doors lock when the vehicle reaches 15km per hour...mine doesn’t lock and the service department said it doesn’t come with this feature...it doesn’t say that in the book though

I have one too and mine doesnt lock automatically, my previous version did that was a 2016 model, also no CD player, very poor I wish I had kept my old one to be honest, it had electric seats to. Very disappointed with this RS model.

It would take more than no auto door locking for me to dislike this car...its absolutely beautiful..the inside it finished lovely and the car glides along like a dream..Im getting 6.7 litres for 100 km and thats around town so its great on fuel, ..Ive had a couple of brake issues with it, they machined the brakes but they stilled grabbed a bit so Honda are replacing all the rotors and pads next Thursday...Honda have given me a 7 year warranty unlimited kms and road side assist and capped servicing so I really haven't got anything to complain about ...I would definitely recommend this car, I really gave all the cars in this bracket a good going over before settling for this one, I thought it was the best value out there for my money and so far Im not disappointed...I did know about it not having a CD player that is disappointing I agree.
