Great Run-About Car!
This is one-of (if not, the) best cars I've ever owned!!! It is cheap, without looking it. It is a good car to downsize to as we did, from a medium sedan (i45) to this. The i45 was a great car, but it wasn't light on petrol, it was harder to park because of its size and there was too-much space that wasn't being used. And we got our little red Accent and haven't looked back. The driiving experience is good; does what it needs to do. It's pretty smooth and quiet. When driving on rough tarmac or driving fast for long periods of time you do notice...Read more
the tire roar... but it could be much worse. The exterior of the car is rather neat looking, for a cheap and light car it has some nice styling elements. Sharp creases along the side and front with a uniquely styled rear-end complimenting the exterior with bland, yet suiting, hubcaps. For the class, the Accent is quite plush. The is a nice patterned plastic that surrounds the cabin with some silver inserts and neat, flowing sculpture. The front seats are comfy, and hug you nicely, however the back seats could have a little more support. There are plenty of cupholders and storage up-front, but the isn't a center arm-rest in the back and there is only one map pocket. Otherwise, there is a vast amount of space in the back seat. The media system is ok. Blu-tooth is kinda slow to connect for android phones so you're best just to use the aux cord. For apple devices it is a little more accepting with Apple Carplay and faster connectivity. I would like it if the car had a reversing camera as the back window is small and obstructed by rear seats and rear C pillars. The boot is massive! Again, for a light car, its boot is bigger than cars in higher classes such as the Toyota Corolla and Mazda 3. Very, very good car for anyone. Maybe not for larger families...Similar opinion? Great car - faultless
I bought the automatic version new 3.5 years ago for $17k drive away. The car is fun to drive and huge inside considering its in the small car class. I loved it and miss it after I lost it in an accident with a SUV. Happy with the resale value. I had zero probs with it. The only prob the car had was discovered by the dealer at hand over and got fixed straight away.

Great little car for city driving
I bought a Hyundai Accent as my first brand new car purchase, and I have to say I'm very happy with it. It accelerates 0-60 pretty well for a discount car, and I can get 500-600km off a full tank of petrol (can do outer suburbs of Melbourne to Canberra off one tank!). Its size makes it great for city driving, and a lot easier to park than other cars!
I will say it's not fantastic for highway driving - I'm in 6th (highest) gear by about 80, so it starts to struggle at 110, but the fuel economy is so good I don't mind at all. It also doesn't h...Read more
ave great visibility out any side. I've gotten used to it, but if I drive another car then get back in mine I'm always struck by how little I can see by comparison. All up, great car for driving in the citySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great small car for a big guy!
Best value small car in Australia for me. I looked at many different models when considering my new purchase and the Hyundai wins for fuel efficiency and leg room (important for me at 6'3). The Apple CarPlay is very handy and easy to use with the only downside being no reverse camera or sensor included in any version.

Good affordable little car
One of the decent little car, base model, however little bummed to missed on the new model which comes with cruise control at the base model. Overall performance matches my need, good L/Km ratio, decent handling. I wish there would be more features. Made a dumb choice to get reverse sensors to be installed by hyundai, should go to any aftermarket place.

Okay car
I bought an accent for my first ever brand new car! While it is nice I really should have spent the extra money and upraded to an i30. My sister bought an i30 soon after I got my accent and there is a noticeable difference between the cars. The accent is okay, just the i30 has less blind spots and a more powerful engine

Very Good enough for the price
Bought it new when it was on promo. Very happy with the fuel consumption and also the offer and extended warranty from the dealer. The car itself is good enough for my work purpose. The technology and bluetooth features are excellent. The only problem that I found is the demister is not really working well during winter time as it took ages to clear up the fogs. Other than that, I am very satisfied with it.

Economical Car
Sporty-looking on the outside, with grippy tyres for sporty cornering
Roomy interior
Quite quick in a straight line
Strong after-sales package
Cheaper than some competitors
Suspension too abrupt over country roads and fidgety on urban arterials
Average interior quality
Flat seats
Lacks engine refinement and overall finesse of best rivals

Resposive and easy to handle.
A nimble and easy to drive car thay is perfect day to day car. After driving this car for a month i can appreciate what hyundai has done. Driving the car with in the triptronic gives the car extra power whwn i need it and the boot space is generous for the this size car. Im suprised it has a full size spare tyre and easy to use infomat system. Apple car play is a dream and wish i could have that on my other cars.

Great little car. Very happy with the Accent as a shopping trolley - taxi around town
I replaced our old Pulsar with a brand new Accent in 2017, and I am very happy that I did. The car handles so well, has all the modern conveniences you'd expect in a larger car, including bluetooth, central locking, airbags everywhere, lovely dash and controls, great 5 year warranty. Fuel efficiency is great - around 5L/100 km on the open road, and ~ 6.5 around town.
Only slight concern is that road sounds can become loud at speed - needs some insulation under the feet. It is also low, so be careful when parking not to nose into curbs or the front bumper will scrape.

Best small car
I love small cars and this one was the best choice I could have made. Reliable and good looking, I think this car is exactly what I was looking for - easy to park, blue lights in the dash, sleek interior finishes and efficient on petrol. I haven't had any issues or complaints since I bought it from the Hyundai Dealer.

Good little nifty car
I settled on this purchase after looking into similar sized cars. I think it is value for money. It is quiet when on the road, easy to park which is important as its used mainly for suburban driving and the occasional trip further afield.Spacious enough interior.Reasonably economical to run fuel wise.I bought it new and have it serviced by the dealer as it has 3 year cap on service cost as well as paid road assistance if sent to the dealer annually !! It comes with an extended warranty. I have had it for a couple of years now and still running beautifully as it should.Maybe an issue for those who like to put their foot on the pedal to accelerate as it does seem to struggle with acceleration. Take their tinting offer. Well worth it.

Can not fault!
This car drives like a dream!
I am lucky enough to do half of the driving (husband loves to drive it too) and to have been a passenger in both the front and e back.
The driving experience with this car is second to none! So smooth. So quite. So luxurious!
It breaks well in all weather conditions and doesn't slide on wet surfaces.
It's acceleration is smooth and quick.
It feels like a dream!
Being a passenger in the Accent is a marvil in itself aswell. Great leg room! Very comfortable seats. Ease of access to the aircon and radio!
Love this car so much!

suitable for elderly couple. .
excellent car, very reliable. Good performance with plenty of legroom in the front. Being tall, when I have the drivers seat back there is not a lot of room for the passenger behind the driver. I found running costs very reasonable and the servicing excellent and conveniently priced. car handles easily for parking.

Excellent car best value for money
I have been using this car for almost a year and I love it. It comes with Apple Car play, full spare wheel and lot of car boot space. 5 years of warranty with unlimited kilometers. I had a problem with radio reception after 7 months and they replaced the whole apple car play unit under warranty.

Comfortable fuel efficient & easy to park
Very direct steering, it's an automatic & seems to reva bit before changing to the next gear, which is supposed to be what the CVT transmissions do so I have read, front seats have plenty of leg room, back seat leg room is a bit squeezey
It's cheap to run& reliable so far, it's bit noisy inside from road noise & is low to the road which makes it a little harder to get out
I bought seat covers & put them on, since then the top half of the back seats which fold up & down, had a constant rattle, which was very annoying
Hyundai adjust...Read more

Not Sure if Any1 else has encountered this issue. I bought a brand new Hyundai Accent Sport 2017 last year. Since day-1, i can feel the accelerator is too sensitive (comparing to my old Holden)... Whenever i try to level to a particular speed, the car jerks up & down (though the jerk is not much noticeable by other passengers in car but the driver can feel it's not smooth).
I got this checked by Hyundai technicians and they responded with a comment "this is what it is. the sensors may be too sensitive but we cannot change it as the software comes via the company".
I just want to check if sm1 else has also observed this?

Yes, I have found the same thing on my 2017 Accent Sport manual. When cruising at 60 Kph in 4th gear on light throttle, the engine falters and bucks slightly ( only the driver notices it and it would be very difficult to demonstrate it to a mechanic). Much more noticeable with the aircon on as it cycles on and off. I figure that it is the second cheapest new car to put on the road (after the Mirage) so you cannot expect perfection in all areas, but it does detract from driving pleasure in an otherwise great little car.
Yes, so glad someone else is experiencing the same thing. I have a Sport auto and its hard to drive smoothly. It almost feels like the car has regenerative braking when you lift of the accelerator. At about 50 kph, it will also drop down a gear when you lift off the pedal. Passengers have started to notice it too, commenting that it feels like the car is surging. It's a shame as everything else about the car is great. I'm going to ask the service people if they can do something to the electronic settings in the transmission when it next gets serviced.
I’ve got the same thing with my 2018 model guys. It doesn’t like to sit on 50kph at all. It’s either under or over.

Hi Everyone,
I ma gone through a lot of above mentioned reviews and are definitely useful. I have another query if any can answer that please.
I live near brisbane cbd and pretty in a hilly area. I just wanted your reviews on how is the car (accent) on hills. Does it struggle or rattles while climbing on a hill?
Thank you

Mine is an automatic and don't have any problems going uphill. Mine is new so I don't know how older cars perform
Thank you for your reply..
I have a an auto mid-2017 model and it handles hills well given its small engine. You won't win a race with a prado, but I'm guessing you won't expect to!
