Great car, some towing limitation
I have the MY2106 active diesel - YAY for cloth seats (leather is too hot in summer and too cool in winter for Perth)! The diesel is a dream to drive and city mileage is 8.3L/100kms on less than 10km trips - cant ask for better in my opinion.
After buying the car, we changed our habits a bit, and are now towing an offroad camper trailer with about 130kg ball weight. Local Hyundai fitted upgraded springs for $400 to uprate towball max from 100 to 150kg. But the constant need to check the weight ($50 scale needed) and consider how we use th...Read more
e fridge in the camper and how we load it is affecting our freedom to use the camper. Note, that actual towing of the camper is great, highway mileage came to 8.7L/100kms for the 1.2 tonne load. There is the usual wander and need to drive smooth, but it never feels unsafe or wobbly, no load distribution is needed. Big standard mirrors also mean no tow mirrors are needed. In no other way, would I downrate the Santa Fe, the driving and handling, the occassional 7 seat use, 5 year/100000km warranty, perfect for our family of 4.Similar opinion? Review on Santa Fe DM3 Highlander - 2016 model
The performance and handling is excellent. Even surprised my husband. Only issue is he is experience a bit of a stall when it comes to city driving when accelerating. Anyone else have that issue?
Comfort wise, I love it. Even my cousin who owns BMW are surprised at the features. We have front and back heated leather seat with air cond seats at the front. Panoramic roof - bonus to keep baby busy.
It may not be as good in legroom if you are tall. For my 6foot 3 husband, it is tight squeeze if he sits on the passenger side and with the babyseat right behind him, he cant move seat back any further... but since it is my car, its ok by me.

Audio Unit fail three time in less than 3 years plus electronic parking break issue (Highlander MY15
My navigation/audio unit has constantly given us issues since we bought this Highlander model back in 2015. The unit has automatically reset the system a couple of times during last three years of ownership which wiped out our personal preferences.
The unit display "fatal errors" message in December 2015, which dealer reset the system to fix this issue. The unit again display "fatal errors" message again in September 2017 and consequently the unit was replaced by dealer. Again, the replaced unit display "fetal errors" in March 2018 and Hyun...Read more
dai dealer decided to replace with another unit, rather than identifying the underlying problem with this issue. The audio unit shut itself off during the Easter while found to be working again next day. In additions, our Map has not been updated since late 2015 despite servicing at Hyundai dealer and Hyundai has not released Map update according to the dealer. Complimentary Sat nav update as promoted by Hyundai is misleading representation as far as I am concern. On top of that, the vehicle was stranded on our driveway once due to its electronic parking break being locked in placed. We have to sent vehicle on the flatbed truck to the nearest dealer which was found to be "software" issues with electronic parking break. Consideration the price tag of $55,000 on this vehicle, we are disappointed with Hyundai for its quality and after sales services provided. We recently brought another vehicle and decided to stay away from Hyundai brand.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So much space. Love this car.
I had owned 2 Hyundai's prior to this purchase so we bought this car without even a test drive. When we picked it up, I was so impressed with the variety of modifications that could be made to suit my driving style. The seat can be adjusted up and down, the back seats can be shifted forward and back and I love the reversing camera. It does have a wind noise in the passenger side window which we have brought up twice with the dealer but they have assures us it is just the design of the car and there is nothing that can be done but it does get an...Read more
noying on longer trips. It has great fuel economy (I am a mother of two school aged children, living out of town and generally get about 2 weeks of driving out of a tank of fuel). There is heaps of room and I love the extra seats for little extras that join us from time to time. Overall, very happy with value for money with this car!! Great family car.Similar opinion? Terrific vehicle
This is my second Santa Fe 2012 then 2016 great in all aspects due to update July 2022 to another Santa Fe Highlander as I as well as my family have really enjoyed the car one daughter bought 2012 when I updated and oldest daughter preparing to buy current vehicle but much to my disappointment it will not be the 2022 Santa Fe as there is no spare and yes I have had flat tyres so I am now considering a Kia Sorrento what a blow but then that is life. Have enjoyed every aspect of Santa Fe ownership with excellent service from Hyundai and great reliability.

The Perfect Upgrade
Really happy with the decision to purchase a Santa Fe, great for our family, our two large dogs and the kids to come! We chose the Santa Fe over the Tucson due to the extra room in the boot and the extra two seats. The diesel engine makes for great fuel efficiency and I only fill up once a fortnight usually getting about 600-700k per tank. It is comfortable and the leather seats and finishings are very luxurious. We looked at similar models in Ford, Toyota and Nissan but this was the best quality and price point to suit us. Would highly recommend.

It's very convenient
Everything is good. I bought a seven seater, I'm surprised to see that you can actually fit 7adults, but do not expect to have boot space..lol.... you can probably fit a backpack after all seats are full. And if you fold all seats, you can put a three seater couch too, so it's that big inside too. It's a v6, drinks a bit too much in urban but for long drive it's efficient, comfortable, reliable, worthy. Overall it's good value.

Great Vehicle (apart from) Spontaneous Cracked Windscreen and Erratic Infotainment System.
I bought my Santa Fe Elite in August 2015. Haven't used it a lot. Currently 16000km on odometer. The following is personal opinion re this vehicle.
The Good Features: comfortable spacious interior, good trim, light responsive steering, handles well, engine efficient & responsive, reasonable economy, but I have never matched manufacturers claims. Good speakers.
The Not So Good Features: Infotainment system has intermittent problem of freezing on startup. Restart sometimes helps or it may suddenly work after 5 to 10 minutes driving. Software in...Read more

Great Car
Love this car. Handles well. Very quiet considering I have the diesel. Economical to run especially as I do long trips to Melbourne regularly. Plenty of legroom for rear seated passengers and for small kids in third row. I wish to GPS announced road names and not just “turn left at the next roundabout”.

Excellent Car
This car looks and performs so well. The interior and exterior looks premium. If you take the badge of it would be mistaken for a German Car!
However, the since the car is diesel, accelerating from 0 km/h, it kind of struggles. But on the freeway, overtaking with this car, it is a beast.

AMAZING CAR
Bought the Hyundai santa Fe Highlander in 2016. Great car which ticks most of the big named cars boxes but the design in this car is great and looks nicer tghan the BMW and the internal space is grea, the drives smoothly and when you need power it has it and Hyunfai have come a long way. Love the full open roof. I got the cream interior which looks great and love the cooling and heating seat options. The only negative comment I have to make is the sound due to being diesl from the outside and also the car does not have park assist to leave a tight spot

OUTSTANDING, EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY
I just brought the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Active MY18 DM5 2.2 CRDi it is the best car I have driven in a long time. This car is amazing!
This car is fantastic. Keyless engine, set seat positions for different drivers, seat warmers, leather seats, it’s all amazing!
The interior is black and the dashboard lights up with a blue light which looks amazing.
Ours is a diesel and can take us from the Central Coast NSW to QLD Sunshine Coast on one tank of petrol.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What a great vehicle
We have owned the santé fe Diesel for 3months and driven 6000ks and we are astounded at how well it drives on dirt/gravel and sealed roads.Recently went on a week away with loads of luggage and pushbikes over steep and undulating roads in wet and dry conditions and We think its the best drive ever,a very responsive engine with positive steering and plenty of space,we also tow an aluminium boat occasionally which weighs 700kilos .Fuel usage around 7.5 lts per 100k without boat and around 10 lts with, the only slight negative is the road noise on some coarse sealed surfaces.

Will never buy another small car again!!!
I actually bought my 2017 Santa fe Elite to drive back and fourth from Melbourne to Bendigo. It drives absolutely amazing and having diesel, it's fuel efficiency is top notch.
I like everything about the interior and couldn't complain about any of it. Having seat warmers when it's cold and memory adjustable seats theres no turning back. Reliability is extremely exceptional and to run it on a full tank at $70 -$75 it will take you 360klm from Melbourne to Bendigo and then back. Love everything about the car!!!!

My first 4wd and would never go back to a small car!
I've owned my Santa Fe for two years now and I love this car! It's a people mover with 7 seats and have made so many memories with the whole family! So spacious and love the comfort on the driver side. When I get in my husbands hatch back now I feel so odd and uncomfortable compared to mine. Highly recommend!

Brilliant SUV with great comfort and excellent performance
Purchased this SUV to tow our camper trailer and it has been great. When not towing it does well around tow and handles well on country roads. Feels solid and comfortable on long trips. The 6spd auto transmission is we ll mated to the 2.2 diesel and always is in the right gear for the task. It even down shifts as your slowing down. The interior has plenty of space and comfortable seating. The Active and Active X models represent great value. Only down side to the interior is the seats could have been a darker colour and the doors scuff easily...Read more
. So far no issues and is a pleasure to drive. Average around 650-750km out of a 60 litre tank around tow. I havent yet had a chance to see what the Santa Fe will return on a highway stint. Although it has been easily to drop to 6.5 litres on the highway. Purchased from Essendon Hyundai who offered outstanding service and were not pushy with a sale.Similar opinion? Good car ecomony of 9.9L/100 instead of 7.8L/100
I have highlander model. Excellent car but little bit expensive as compared to competitor. It should provide capability to automatically stop vehicle in emergency instead of just reducing speed like Mazda new CX 5.The average 7.8L/100km is impossible to achieve. Its not easy to get into 3rd row and less space in 3rd row and not comfortable in 3rd row.
