Good reviews. A few issues.
We we're looking at a 7 seater 4wd on diesel. Having read reviews on the net, we decided on this based on price, warranty and capped servicing. Although happy with the support and the car itself, it's been into the dealer on a number of occasions. Issues included replacing a starter unit, replacing two suspension components & being recalled for a minor manufacturing fault. Although all this didn't cost us a cent as it was covered under warranty, it was the inconvenience. Would probably steer away from Hyundai's in future.

Love this car!
This is a great car for the family. We can put three car seats across the back seat (although it would be nice to be able to put them in the back row, but no anchors). We use both traditional and isofix anchors.
Leg room is fine for a tall family.
We ran out of boot space on holidays, so invested in a pod on roof racks. But for day to day i can throw the pram and multiple scooters in the boot easily.
Mechanically never missed a beat and i was suprised how cheap it is to run on diesel.

Flawed car in the long term
We bought our series 1 DM Highlander new. Initial impressions were very good with a nice diesel drivetrain, standard features and great fuel economy. However, long term issues led to having to get rid of ours.
Ride is fidgety and uncomfortable on typical Australian highways (fixed in the revised models I believe). Ford Territory way better in this regard.
Front suspension has very little adjustment so a good wheel alignment on ours was not possible (no camber or caster adjustment!).
Towing capacity 2000kg but we had trouble towin...Read more
g 1300kg without overheating in summer. Radiator is too small. Rear towball weight is also a misery 100kg without upgraded springs. Useless for anything over a box trailer. Towed OK after upgrading the rear suspension but dangerously insufficient engine braking (almost none). Lots of dash rattles and squeaks.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Santa Fe Elite 2015 V6, 3.3 Petrol
Purchased the Santa Fe Elite 2015 V6 3.3 Petrol in May 2015, since then we have done 50000km . the pure pleasure of driving this vehicle is amazing, the petrol has awesome power and great towing . cost of the petrol verses the diesel model I have worked out it is around $1500.00 more with petrol but the pure pleasure of the quiet petrol engine is well worth it.with seven seats the grandchildren can all fit in. I highly recommend the Santa Fe .

Best value for money
I have been a loyal Hyundai customer for quite sometime now, never had a reason to complain. Product quality is excellent and service is exceptional. 5 years free servicing that I got was icing on the cake.
I bought Santa Fe highlander about 11 months ago.
Pros:
1. Smooth ride, excellent stability and handling
2. Great fuel economy
3. Great interior and exterior styling
4. Top safety rating
5. Adaptive cruise control is awesome. Makes long distance driving effortless
6. Assisted parking works very well.

Good car, but....
Bought the car in 2013. Great car, great fuel economy, great comfort, 30000 k's travelled. 2 problems we have experienced is while driving at 110 km/h the rear diff exploded. It punched a hole in the housing, lost all the oil and left us stuck in the middle of the road unable to move it to the side. Long story cut short the diff was replaced, towing cost covered by warranty...see you later. A friend mechanic told us that inferior metals used in Asian cars was the cause.
2nd problem is the rear wing above the back window. The paint on the to...Read more

New version (MY16) has nearly everything that needed improving fixed
Very comfortable car to drive, has an abundance of features and is great value for money. Performance is more than adequate without going overboard for the legal limits. Decent cabin refinement for the price level.
The entertainment unit has been updated and is really responsive now and the adaptive cruise works great. We upgraded from an MY13 and almost all the little things that we wanted changed were fixed in the new model.
A couple of niggly things is the Auto Hold and fog lights turn off each time you turn off the car so you have to turn them on each time. And the Adaptive cruise resets to the furthest distance each time its turned on. But these are extremely minor faults on an otherwise great car.

Enjoying our Santa Fe
We chose the Santa Fe (purchased March 2016) after firstly looking at the Tucson. Have driven the Tucson as a loan car since then & still like it, but we wanted the flexibility of a 7 seater. We have used 7 seats with 2 adults in rear row for a week last year & they were fine for space even with one at 1.8m tall. The trick is to move the middle row forward slightly.
Driving the diesel Santa Fe is relaxing because the handling is good, the engine power is more than adequate, the quietness above 50kph is comparable to the petrol version. It'...Read more

Love my new Active!
Plenty of room, very stylish and lots of safety features for the base model. Kids love the separate air con in the third row of seats. The third row is great for children but I wouldn't want to squeeze in there myself.
I find it very economical around the city and it is lovely to drive.

Very happy with my choice
Excellent driving experience especially on long trips. Very comfortable but not luxurious. Very economical. Not super quiet but certainly not noisy. Has many safety features which make for a confident and easy driving experience. Excellent storage capacity. Great sound system and many other features for attachments using USB etc. Love the "moon roof" .

We love everything about the Sante Fe especially its comfort, diesel economy, facilities and repair-free driving over five years. We loved it so much we just bought our second and we're thrilled with the free servicing offered. It tows our caravan perfectly. Ehnacments of reverse parking camera and blue tooth for phones are great.

Best choice for my family!
I am so happy we chose this car. It has made my driving experience more pleasurable by being so comfortable for everyone including the back row. It is just so safe with air bags for all and being so high I have great visibility. I feel proud and most importantly I am safe. Ps I love Apple Play!

Smart car to drive
Smart technology and fuel efficient car. The adaptive cruise control and the autonomous breaking system is great. The car torque is very good on diesel and run smoothly. The satnav is great so do the sound system. I had issue with the multimedia system initially but after updating the software the issue is fixed. It does not have apple air play, will be better if it has that. Missing tech it does not have is 360 degree view. The third row sit could have been a little bigger if the manufacturer wants.
Best value a money can buy.

Hidden Medium Priced Good Vehicle
For a small type 2.4 litre Turbo diesel, the Sante Fe handles surprisingly well in comparison to petrol vehicles. Performance is very good and economical, great power, can tow 2 tonnes very easily, plenty of space within and I have carried 5 adults and 2 x baby seats at the same time, still room for the prams and toddler stuff. Very impressed, no issues with the vehicle at all, very well maintained and I would call mid to high range luxury and so easy to park and drive. Only issue is that the model I have didn't have Sat Nav, but hey, for $149.00 at JB HiFi, problem solved.

Driving in style
This car is definitely designed for luxury driving. The drivers seat moves back for comfortable entry into the drivers seat then you choose 2 personal preset seating settings to choose from (my husband has set his preferred seat to setting 1 and I am setting 2). No more finding the right setting.... it's all done in a click of 1 button.
The dashboard offers loads of different settings from speed, fuel, distance travelled, km used in conjunction with petrol, next service due date etc. When you go over the speed limit you are warned verbally "yo...Read more

Santa fe 2013 Steering Problem- hyundai has no solution
the steering problem is that the vehicle wanders from left to right.
1. There seems to be no feel of a center.
it is a continous battle whenever the vehicle goes to the left or right.
2. Driving at a speed of 70 and above is unsafe.
without the feel of center you have to mastered the control of wandering.
3. e-mailed hyundai customer care
The feel of care is only thru words....its just a way to empathize with the customer.

Great value of money: great for family
Great fuel consumption, very spacious for my family, two rear seats even tall persons can fit; I checked other options for 7 seater (as sometimes my parents to go with us).I checked Nissan xtrail but the rear seats did not have enough space only my little kids could fit in, while Mazda had petrol engine having massive fuel consumption, finally chose Hyundai santa fe diesel. It did not disappoint me, it's 2013 and travelled 90k still drive like new, interior very solid still looks quite new.
My family love space inside.
Driving very smooth, excellent pick, AC works good, great looking exterior.
One thing disappointed me, my active model does not have GPS so I use my phone.
Other than this is am quite satisfied.

Great value for money
Bought it back in Dec 2014 for the Mrs to do the school runs and weekend/holiday trips.
Been behaving itself with no problems at all. Even did Grampians off road track (but it was dry weather) and was very impressed how the AWD handled the terrain. The low clearance was an issue in some parts of the track and caused dents/scratches on the exhaust pipes/silencer.
Ride is comfortable, enough grunt even with 6 adults.
