3RD rotary switch failure

published

Great oven when it works properly, I cant complain, but when I have to pay for the 3rd rotary switch at $300-$400 for a repairman to supply and fit it, it becomes annoying.

Purchased in December 2021 at The Good Guys.

Cant believe it, another rotary switch failure!

published

The first rotary switch failed just a month after the two year factory warranty expired. Fortunately we opted for the extended two year warranty and had it replaced. Unknown to me at the time, but when the technician turned up for the repair he only brought the one part with him, "Rotary Switch". Apparently a common problem. It is now March 2018, just one month before my extended warranty is to run out and the "switch" is failing again, not working in the fan force mode. My concern is, how long before the 3rd rotary switch fails?
Cant believe the company has not recalled this particular piece of equipment.
Very disappointing that we spent the extra money to opt for a better product and now feel somewhat very disappointed.

Must have been made during that last shift of the week

published

Purchased in 2014. Top element support frame was discovered to be broken on installation. Fixed under warranty - took about 2 weeks. About a year later the rotary selector switch failed - also fixed under warranty. Rotary switch failed again just outside warranty. Replaced at our cost. 15 months later, the rotary switch has failed again. Three switches in 3 and a half years, time to replace the oven with some other brand. Ilve outsource their support to a third party. It usually takes more than a week to get a service call (they repair many brands and are rather busy). Then about another week to get the part and install it.

It's a lemon

Very unreliable having broken down 4 times in less than 2 yrs and not heavily used typically once a week. Yes that a total failure every 30 or so useds.
Warranty Service slow slow and have had 8 service visits to get the 4 repairs complete.
Oven has now been out of action for 6 weeks whilst Ilve try to decide what to do. At the weekly follow up call, no-one knows about the job.
Have called consumer affairs in total frustration.
Will NEVER buy Ilve again!

Follow up to my review of April 28, 2016.
Ilve customer care arranged for oven replacement with a new oven. This was completed 2 weeks ago and replacement oven functioning as per expectation.

Sadly dissapointed

published

Installed in October 2011. Casing fan did not work from start. Has been replaced. Not working again. Light intermittently works. Seems to have some internal electrical issue. Ilve service not very helpful. Service agents rough with equipment and so on.

Should have spent the extra on Miele
Good size

948SXMP

We have an Ilve 948SXMP. The oven seems to overheat and burn everything irrespective of what temperature the dial is pointing to. What could be the problem?
