FCA Customer Support Pathetic

published

Purchase Dec 2017. From the first week had electronic's problems. Dealer would nor believe my complaint even though it was evident in their workshop. Took 6 weeks to get a new uConnect, after 4 visits to the workshop, 6 months in total. Still have not fixed rain sensor for wipers. have only had manual control for 2 years. FCA advised the dealer in Sept 2022 cannot replace the rain sensor, as it is part of $3000 windscreen, and will not respond to the dealer on a replacement. Very poor customer service, FCA not interested. Great car in many respects, but zero support. After owning 2 my next will not be an FCA brand.

Purchased in December 2021.

Blown engine

published

Bought my GC limited Diesel from Irelands in Cairns in Jan.16 All went downhill very quickly with sump oil leaks followed by a timing cover oil leak that had to be returned 3 times to rectify.1 month from the warranty expiring the brake booster pump failed.New unit fitted only to have a failure within a fortnight, was filled with silicone.
At 56000 km and 2 months out of warranty the engine seized solid. Big hearted Jeep did replace the engine as a GOODWILL gesture, took 7 weeks and no loan vehicle.I asked what warranty I get with the new engine and was to NIL and if it goes bang again it will be at my expense.New engine costs approx. $25000.00.
The engines are failing world wide, be careful and consider your options.

Best value for money you can buy today

published

The features and comfort of this car are amazing. Heated steering wheel and heated /cooling seats.
I use it daily, towing a trailer. The rear view camera and air suspension, means I can connect the trailer from inside the car!
Lots of room, heaps of power and a real head turner on the road.
Go for it!!

Amazing Bit Of Kit!

published

I started with a compass a few years back and then moved into a Grand Cherokee Limited as the Compass didn’t have the grunt I was looking for.
I have had zero issues with both vehicles and just about to buy my 3rd Jeep Grand Cherokee:
It’s so smooth on road but handles off road without any hassles at all!
Bang for buck, this is hands down the best option going around!
I’m sure I don’t need to go into what you get, just do yourself a favor and take one for a test drive and I’m sure it won’t disappoint!

I have a MY 2015 Grand Cherokee diesel and the engine has seized up. I have enjoyed the car but this has been a pain. It has been frustrating getting action on this one from customer service. However, after months we have resolution and the engine will be replaced. . .

Pig of a car

Same as others constant faults with media electronics. Response from Jeep Australia also very similar to other complaints made here. Car less than 2 years old when fault in rear passenger window developed. And that took several interactions with Jeep Australia to get finally resolved. The american just do not have the same level of quality control on their electronics. I was told this by a friend who use to work for the company in the US. Sold this lemon and will only look at value for money and reliable Japanese.

Fabulous best car I have ever had

published

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited it has done over 160,000kms only problem washer went in the fuel pump you cannot beat that. Last year I did a trip from Perth to Broome down to Newman back through Tom Price into Exmouth and back to Perth it was amazing I never felt exhausted and averaged just under 8 litres per 100ks. Car is brilliant to drive, my brother in law wants to buy this one later this year when I get a new one. I don't think I will ever drive any other brand from now on, in the past I have had Nissan's, Ford's, Holden's and a Subaru the jeep is definitely the best

Worst after sales service EVER!

published

I recently bought a Jeep to tow my boat. I had the factory Jeep towbar installed. I was informed by Jeep 4 weeks ago to stop towing immediately due to a risk of bolts becoming loose. I have called FCA at least 10 times and have had differing answers and commitments that never eventuated. The dealer where I purchased my vehicle and towbar have been no help and refer me back to FCA. I love my Jeep but will never buy another based on this experience. I understand the need for the recall as safety is paramount but the complete lack of service and care from FCA is a deal breaker. So far I haven’t been able to tow over Easter and the last 3 weekends. I purchased the Jeep to tow. It is clearly unfit for purpose. Woeful service.

Electrical Power Steering pump failed after 4 years.

published

We bought a new Jeep Cherokee in December 2014. Yesterday while I was driving the electrical Power steering pump failed. Surely this is not suppose to happen with a car that is 3 and bit years old. We have not missed a service. The Jeep only have 80 000 km on the clock. I would really like JEEP to come forward and explain how they are going to handle this. I don't expect that to happen with a car after only 3 years. The cost of this exercise is $ 3834. We are so disappointed.

What is the confirmed maximum gross trailer weight capacity for the 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited 3.0L Diesel

1 answer
Bok-Lim K.
Bok-Lim K.

For the 2015 Jeep GC WK2 Diesel, from the Operating Information (Manual)

1. Max GTW-with Trailer Brake = 3500kg
2. Max GTW - without trailer brake = 750 kg
3, Max (on tow bar) tongue weight = 227 to 350 kg dependent as below:-
- Up to 3 occupants w. luggage = 350 kg
- Up to 5 occupants w. luggage = 227 kg
(PS - IMHO if luggage include tools and equipment I would err on the conservative side and use the lower tongue weight even with fewer occupants)
Trust the info. is of assistance and of course you can ring up Jeep Australia for this information too.

Regards
