Awesome car

published

My 2005 wrangler now has 180 000kms on the clock and is still an awesome car reliable as the day it was bought. Gets used everyday, great car to drive and I have never had any problems with it, the car is regularly serviced and well maintained by the agents. Probably the best 4x4 I have ever owned.

Not really a daily drive

published

The TJ Jeep isn't a WW2 jeep at all. It's a 1990s Cherokee with the skin resembling a CJ5. As such it's road manners aren't as crazy as they could be. The 4.0L engine is robust, smooth, loads of low down grunt and drinks fuel. They look great with the wet weather gear off, which is good in SA as it hardly ever rains, but it's fiddly to get back on. They are not reliable enough to circumnavigate Australia on a budget, an old Hilux would be better. Great for extreme off road, beach bashing and cruising the esplanade with a large dog in the back. Pre 2002 ish look better as they don't have proper doors :)

offroading

Bought it a yaer ago. It runs really good and works for what i need, its good on the road and its good off the road. Theres a 3 in lift and 32in tires which make it a bit better for going offroading in. Overall it is a good car

Not Tooo Bad

published

I actually loved my jeep, but my female half couldn't stand it. It's quite bouncy and on the highway not the most comfortable vehicle. On the other hand the car is a beast in 4wd conditions and will go wherever you take, My main gripes were I started having lots of niggly little repairs mostly electrical. Some of the parts underneathe are a bit flimsy and I needed to modify it to make it stronger. Also very chewy on the juice. Not a bad run arround though.
I liked driving it and the sound of the engine, bit of a boys toy.
Not the most reliable and eats the juice.

Got to have it

Awesome vehical to have for the summer, soft top or even hard tops!!! I love mine and would never sell it even if it broke down! Soon ill be getting another and it will be a 2006 this time becuase its cheap all the kinks are out and parts are very common to come by.

it is an awsome car if you want to go off road and want to have a few differnt roofing options/ looks . i have put new stereo in my car and the job is really easy. i love this car .
i have a tj wrangler 99 model i love it great off road, even smooth on road . i have the option to go hard top soft top and no top have had roof down during summmer .
there is a bit of a space issue but other wise fine yeah small boot, with the softtop it can be a little bit hard to get the top off if your on your own, i and if your going to take the top do it ona week end as it a bit of a pain to remove top every day . does chew fuel but what 4.0 liter 6 cylinder cars does nt.

Love it if your single and dont have to carry people around, it is awesome for off roading in the country, and on the road people move outa your way especially if you have a bull/nudge bar!
It can go anywhere.... its really easy to drive on dirt roads and it has a very good turning circle ( small ) which makes paring and 4WD really easy. I also like the fact that i can have a hardtop, soft-top or no top and the doors are removable....i my self havent done this, but will reomve the hardtop in the summer when its hot!
Very small boot space so shopping is a hazard if there are 4 people using the car... umm in the back seat you can feel everything. Not very fuel efficent, bu come on, look at the areo - dynamics!

great 4wd. with a few extra dollars spent on suspension and wheel/tyres, its unstopable. it will go more places than any other 4wd.
built tough
good strong motor and driveline
zips need special care or they will need replacing sooner than later.
fuel economy is about 15L/100km
