I used this brand on my purple hair and it removed the purple but my hair is now blue/green at the bottom. I don’t know how this happened but it did. I don’t recommend using it

Fantastic results
I'm so happy I came across this product. I was in semichem looking for hair dye not knowing this even existed. I've got dark brown hair but have been dying it for years as have lots of greys sneaking in. I dye it about every 6 to 8 weeks. I have psoriasis on my scalp so the medicated shampoo I use tends to duĺlen my colour quite fast. For a long time, the ends of my hair have been dry, rough and make my sleep bob quite bulbous. Little did I know its because of the use of permanent dyes over the years.
So, I read the instructions a couple of t...Read more
imes and pasted on this product. I wrapped clingfilm and a towel round my head, closed all windows so no draughts and let it work its magic for an hour. It's pretty stinky, but absolutely bearable in the grand scale of things. I had a baby 5 months ago and my hair is still majorly falling out. When I started washing out the product, the hair in my hand was a lovely Auburny colour. I rinsed, rinsed, rinsed and did the buffering stages. As it says in the instructions, the molecules are still present in the hair at this stage, so if you skimp on the rinsing, the old dye won't be washed out - I'd say this is the reason why folk on here are giving bad reviews and claiming it didn't work. I struggled to get a comb through my hair when I went to dry it but think that's because I normally use conditioner and detangler. Ironically, even though all the old dye has been washed out of my hair, the greys are actually less noticeable because my hair is lighter, and super shiny. I had bought a chestnut brown permanent dye to put on afterwards but read that you should only use a semi permanent afterwards, or else hair will return it's dark colour again as shafts are porous and more absorbent. I actually really like my new hair colour anyway so will live with the greys for now, and my scalp seems to be better and my hair doesn't seem to be falling out as rapidly as it was.

Really worked so well
Hi there friends so just some tips, I previously had bleached blonde hair which was a shade of ash blonde to be exactly L’Oréal lightest ash blonde hair dye I think it was called, I went from very light ash blonde to what I thought was going to be a nice dark brown, big mistake. The colour came out almost black and I made a mistake, I gave the hair colour a chance to fade for about two months before making another mistake lol. It faded and so I put a light brown hair dye over the top for some reason thinking my hair would be the light brown sha...Read more
de I originally wanted mistake . So I went ahead and purchased jo baz, I have used this product soooo many times and every time it works without fail! Here are some hot tips to ensure it works for you, some people have written the hair had gone darker or nothing happened, you need to ensure your follow the instructions strictly. What I did was I put the product through combed it through, wrapped it in glad rap and I actually made a bed on the floor and used my floor heater ( that blows hot air) and lyed there for an hour. Not only does the heat HELP to remove the colour faster but the end result after 15 minutes of rinsing and using the buffer - my hair had turned a medium blonde. Use heat! A blow dryer or something trust me. It works better. Now I can start again and go the right colour because it’s completely stripped me back to two months ago.Purchased in June 2021 at Priceline for A$29.99.

Was okay but even max strength cant remove oldish hair colour...
It smelled gross but I didn't really mind, it sorta hurt but thats natural since it's made of chemicals.
It did get rid of some of the old colour nearf the roots and the buffer smelled really nice, if you've just made a hair colour mistake this would be very good for removing.
Also I had many blonde streaks with green blue colour on them.
And it costed about 12$?

Steer clear, just awful.
Ive been dying my hair since my teens, using numerous products over the years. I saw this in savers UK, it was the cheapest there and was within my budget. Fast forward after application, looked like it worked (I go bright ginger). After rinsing it went back to dark brown/black! All it's done is made my hair smell and wasted my money. Now got to purchase a more pricey one that actually works!

Very gentle on hair
The smell is over exaggerated. It has no horrible smell like ones say. It definitely removes colour from hair. I left it in for the full 60 minutes. I was so surprised. I recommend try it. It can’t hurt you. And make up your own mind. You have nothing to lose. I have almost waste length hair so used two boxes.

Winning product !
Of course I was sceptical of any store bought colour remover but after reading positive reviews I wanted to try and remove my chocolate brown box colour . I am a natural red head and hadnt lightened my hair previously . I followed the directions to the letter and although i have short hair I decided I would do the initial rinse for 15 minutes as I was worried about feedback on the smell of the product. It does smell a bit like rotten egg but I found it no worse than anything I'd smelt at the hairdresser in the past . The product removed the co...Read more
lour and left me with my natural colour and I found the condition of the hair actually quite soft as it had a hairspray buildup that was also stripped out . I would 100% recommend this product but definately advise to rinse for at least 15 minutes and read all the information before you begin #superhappySimilar opinion? Didn’t work
I have used colour before a few times over the years and have always had amazing results however last night I decided to remove my black dye again having last dyed my hair black about 3 months ago and used the same dye I always use. I left the colour before on for 60 mins and did all the correct washing stages, when rinsing my hair no colour could be seen leaving my hair usually I see the water rinsing a different colour. My hair is literally still black no colour left my hair at all. Is it possible it’s out of date and didn’t work for this reason? I am a little upset as I now have to go out and buy another in the attempt to lift it again

Works just like it says
In many of the reviews I see people say the end result colour was yellow or orange. Of course it was, the colour remover returns your hair to BASE colour. If you are naturally blonde, your base is yellow. A natural brunette, your base is orange, mature persons your base may well be white/grey with age. No product on the planet will give you back your natural shade, just your natural BASE. When you coloured your hair, your natural colour was gone for good & the only way to get it back was to grow it all out. So, yes the product does work & it works well. I dyed my hair brown for years & this product takes me back to my yellow base as I was blonde as a kid. Then I can dye it to any shade of blonde. Horray!

Worked for me.
I used colour before at twice the price of this one and guess what...this one does the same job and the smell is less pungent than colour before as that one was unbearable. My hair was dark brown and I'm now a nice shade of gingery red. I actually love my new hair. Highly recommended.

Used this for first time. Very sceptical but it did exactly what it said. Highly recommend this product. Very smelly but if you rinse as in instructions there is no problem with any smell afterwards

Completely shocked me!
I was so sceptical of using this product, you hear of so many people using them and it not working or making hair orange but it really did suprise me!
For 2 years I dyed my hair, I went from a Monday brown/blonde to a bright red, then filled it down to a dark purple. I kept up the the for a while before giving up around Christmas but it just wadnt growing out or fading and my roots were looking terrible!
I followed the instructions to a T and as soon as I removed the bag (cling film is not my friend) i noticed it has taken all the colour ...Read more
out. I was nervous cos it looked orangey but after following instructions and giving it a boost with my own shampoo/conditioner afterwards I was shocked to dry my hair and see my natural colour! No brassy colours and no orange!! Obviously I might have hit lucky with this product but I would highly recommend especially when you are nervous! Always keep a back up hair dye just in case, and I'm sure you will be just as happy :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Removes dye from inside the hair cuticle
Pros: Removes colour that is in the hair cuticle, doesn't fry hair like bleach does, can do at home, fast, cheap.
Cons: doesn't remove staining on the outside of hair (no good for manic panic), drying on hair so need to put a conditioning mask on after, smells really really bad.
The smell is so bad, it made me ill/nauseous. Felt sick for about an hour afterwards, but it did remove permanent hair colour so it's ok.

Absolutely fantastic product!!
First of all i would like to point out I am a hairdresser & have been so for 25 years. I would normally steer clear of colour removal products & opt for a bleach bath to remove unwanted hair dye. As it was my own hair I was dealing with, and after reading all the reviews, I decided to give the JoBaz a try. I had 2 months worth of red (bright red, to be precise) permanent colour build up not to mention numerous applications of Maria Nila colour refresh in both 6.66 (bright red) & 6.40 (autumn red). This was over an old balayage so darker colour ...Read more
at the top & very light blonde on the ends. I new that a bleach bath would send me pink so I'd need to do it 3 or 4 times. My hair wouldn't of taken that kind of hammering, so this seemed the safest option. I followed the instructions & apart from the horrendous smell, all went really well. I was left with a rather unattractive gingery blonde colour, (think Linda from Gimme, Gimme, Gimme) but no red at all! I mixed up some L'Oréal inoa semi permanent in 9.1(very light ash blonde) with 3% (10 vol) and applied it quickly. As my hair was super porous, I new it would grab the colour & go darker than expected, so I only left it on for 5 minutes. The result is a gorgeous chocolate light brown colour with caramel tones where the old blonde was before the red. Not too warm & not too ash..... Just perfect! I am so impressed with the condition as well. I'll be using Maria Nila sulphate free shampoo & conditioner for coloured hair as this will keep the colour fresh & maintain the condition too. One thing that I had seen from previous reviews was that people were noticing their hair going darker again after they'd finished & dried it off. YOU MUST CONDITION YOUR HAIR AFTER THE FINAL BUFFER RINSE!!!! Conditioner acts as a barrier & will neutralize & stop any chemicals that are left in the hair. It is vital that this happens as the colour molecules could still be active. The end instructions just say to conclude. This should read condition!!!Similar opinion? Brilliant product
Used this product with trepidation as I have thin hair...worked brilliantly to remove a very dark colour I put on my hair. Colour removed successfully and I was able to recolour my hair straight away. The product didn't damage my hair in any way would highly recommend and will use again.

PLEASED!!
After trial and error with MANY hair colour strippers over the years this is by far the best I've ever used, I was a really dark brown with red on top, and this took me to a light browny/ natural ginger and I love it. Would absolutely recommend, just have to follow instructions properly!

Too smelly
My hair was dyed burgundy colour & I wanted to grow it out. I had about 4 ins silver root growth & looked ridiculous. In a bid to hurry things along I purchased this product. My hair went a horrible rusty colour, one could say "my own fault!! ok but the smell from the product is horrendous. It's like the old fashioned perming solution, ammonia & after 5 weeks & a brutal cut it still stinks!!!!

Rotten Egg
The smell this emits is chocking and unpleasant it does not work well on hair that has been dyed a long while ago and the colour at the end it won't match your regrowth colour natural hair is darker than the colour that the hair striping dye made the coloured hair. I don't recommend using this as a quick fix I despise how my hair looks even more than it did

Hi,
So I have dyed my hair last week, but it turned out darker then I wanted it to be.
It doesn’t look that bad.. but it has a greenish tone at my ends.
If I use this product, will it remove the colour evenly? And do you think it will get even more green or go more to an orange tone ?
1 answer
Hi Laura, not sure why your hair would have taken on a green tint? Are you naturally dark or fair? This product is designed to remove a build up of dyes (which is what I used it for) and to strip back dark colour. I'm naturally dark brown and hair went chestnut colour which I really liked. So, your hair might go a bit orangey, or you could try using anti dandruff shampoos to help your new colour fade. For info...this product is pretty stinky and the smell really lingers!
